I reserved a luxury vehicle and received a suv, I was charged for gas that I did not use, the vehicle was dirty with fast food containers in the floor and glovebox.

Be aware - you will get charged extra if not returning to an agent in person. Do not use the drop box.At this location I was told an agent would not be at the counter when I returned, and that I should return the keys to a drop box. I returned the vehicle more than 1 hour prior to the stated time but I was charged an extra full day because the agent did not process the drop box until after my return time.When I called customer service they did refund the charge but I was told that I should not return keys to a drop box and that I should wait until an agent showed up at the counter. This of course is unacceptable customer service and in my many years of renting for business I've never encountered this kind of deceitful practice.Avis customer service told me it is Avis' policy to have the keys returned to an agent in order to be credited with the actual time of return.

I'm baffled by any negative comments about Mercedes. From the moment I stepped into the airport until I left the parking lot, she ensured I was well taken care of.In addition I noticed she dealt with some difficult customers before me. Despite their rudeness, she handled the situation professionally and didn't let it affect her service to the rest of us waiting. Kudos to her resilience and dedication!Mercedes was kind, helpful, and genuinely pleasant. Her positivity radiated, leaving everyone who interacted with her in high spirits. Her customer service was top-notch!

All of the reviews below are 100% accurate. All locations of Avis are pretty bad however this one is probably the worst. Other than the owner, the staff is extremely rude and very unprofessional. I rent vehicles on a regular basis and I've never received a clean car from this location or any other AVIS. After my most recent interaction with the staff at this location I will no longer be renting cars from them.

There is one person managing the front desk and when I showed up for my 10:30 reservation no one was there. It was like a ghost airport. I called the number on the desk and the phone rang no one picked up. There was no sign explaining that if they weren't there to check outside. I was pressed for time as I had to drive to Atlanta to catch an international flight. I decided to cancel my reservation and drive to the sister location in Kannapolis. I showed up and the girl at that location was the absolute worse person I could have possibly encountered. She told me that the Concord Regional Airport Location had a person working there I asked to speak to him and she refused. She even told me I must've not been there. Her partner Alex helped me out and explained the situation and provided me with his personal number. I was told to drive back to the Concord Regional Airport Location. I did. Once I arrived, the employee was there he told he he was outside cleaning. Although, he was helpful. There was no indicators or paging system that informs customers on what to do when no one is behind the counter. I wasted 1 hour going back and forth between locations and faced a very stressful time.

Extremely rude attendant. Unwilling to provide a vehicle comparable to what we rented (full size). We needed a vehicle with a trunk. Many cars on the lot and would only give us a truck. No customer service skills.

Booked a car to be ready on arrival yesterday. I flew in and there was no car, the lady at the FBO called AVIS and after talking to several people I had to scramble and use UBER instead.Still haven’t heard a word from AVIS.

Car was not what we reserved, and was filthy inside and out. Garbage from the previous renters was in the car. Additionally we reserved a safety seat for our two year old granddaughter, and none were available. The staff was very nice, and the only reason for the two stars.

Not a good 2nd time renting from this location and it has not been good both times. Got to location was told van was not available to drive to sister Avis in Kannapolis 15 min away get there and was told reservation needed to be change to call customer service get on the phone explain and was told to change price would go up $200 dollars go back to original location and now van was available because keys were found. Wasted almost 2 in the back and forth. First time I rented from location back in June I got van empty tank completely empty with 10 miles to drive only was dirty and when I returned it got charge fuel because it wasn’t full?

AVIS Concord Airport branch is THE WORST! Cars are often unavailable at scheduled pickup time, often delivered dirty and with less than a full tank of gas. Desk is usually understaffed and phone calls go on an answer. Book with this branch at your own risk.

It is very difficult to get ahold of the actual store. The call center quotes completely different prices and information than reality when you get to the location. Good customer service at the Concord NC airport location. Car was alright I suppose. Expected slightly cleaner and better tires for the price I paid, but you can only expect so much from a place with a lying call center.

VERY DISSATISFIED! When I picked up the vehicle it was is very poor shape. It was extremely dirty and had scratches all over it. I rented a midsize car and when I went to pick it up I was given two option a Ford Mustang(two door vehicle) or a Dodge Ram Truck(4 wheel drive). The lady at the desk said she only had two vehicles available and when we got to parking lot there were several vehicles in their parking spaces. These are not good options when you have an elderly lady with you. She had a hard time getting in and out. When I went to return the the truck on the date that I was supposed to no one was at the desk, so I did as it told me to do. That was to put the date and time that I returned it and place the paperwork and keys in the drop box. When I got my receipt, I had been charged for an additional day because they didn’t check it in until the next day at 9:24 AM. The amount was $94 plus taxes and fees. I called the number on the receipt and it was very difficult to get to a customer service representative. They did give credit for the extra day charge(which I have not received yet) and a $70 credit for the dirtiness of the vehicle(which I have not received yet). Very bad experience

If you are flying into the FBO I would recommend not using AVIS. They charged me extra because I rented through FBO and they are only stones throw from the FBO.My most recent rental they would not bring to the FBO because it has to be done the day before. Call Hertz in Concord they were excellent and will bring the car to the FBO.

Absolute worst place to rent a car from. If I was traveling through this airport I would sooner Uber to a different rental company than try dealing with this location again.Rented a car for 1 day. When I returned it during business hours no one was there. Realized I forgot something in the trunk but had dropped the key in the box. Tried calling dozens of times over the next few days. Every time they either weren’t there or ignored it so the call went to their call center instead of the location answering. Call center says they can’t help must speak with the location.A week later I decided I’d wait until 10am and continue to call until they answered. Must have driven the lady nuts, because she finally answered. With such an attitude, probably because I interrupted her mid morning nap. I explained I left something behind, she put me on hold to look, held for 10 minutes while she looked (the office space is about as big as my bathroom) before ultimately hearing her pick the receiver up just to click it back down to hang up on me.So I called back, welcomed with more attitude. She said my item was not there. She also informed me that they sometimes send cars to another location and I could try calling there. I asked if she could confirm where the car was sent and she said that’s not possible. Then magically she was helping another customer and had to disconnect or put me on hold again.The employee was rude, could not care less about my situation, and was rather useless at any skills pertaining to her job. Twice the location was not open during listed business hours on the Avis site. After my experience with this location and Avis general customer support, I won’t use any of them again. But like I mentioned, if I had to, I would Uber or even walk to another company before using this location again.

Our flight arrived at 7:50AM. The Avis/Budget didn’t open until 8:30 so one can imagine the line. After standing in line for over an hour, I was told my reservation wasn’t until 12 and I needed to have a seat until the entire line went through and then they’d see what they could do for me. The next person in line had a later reservation as well and she was serviced right away. I fly here regularly both personally and professionally and always use Avis- this will be last time. In addition, customer service is a very important component of your business, so please invest in your people so they understand that added value of the “Avis” experience.
