Towels are getting thread bare. Couldn't get the blackout shade all the way closed, will be taking spring clips next trip. Nice room otherwise.

The room was well appointed, and everything looked up to date and immaculately clean. The Front desk person was very professional and extremely kind. He had an obvious interest in me and my comfort. I was assured of the guest focused focus of the hotel by even the fact that the soft drinks were only 1.50 each. The front desk attendent explained that they did not mark up the prices as they were wanting to offer the drinks as a Service to the guests, and not as a way to make money. I think it's the first hotel where I have encountered such a thing, and it impressed me quite a bit.

I want to give better star count based on service but due to below can't.Road-tripping with senior parents and couldn't go further, they needed to rest. When I walked in I asked how old the inn was. She said 4 yrs. I expected rooms to be a little nicer, not so warn but it wasn't horrible. Maybe building is older and Comfort inn has been here 4 hrs? It was little things. We had a really hard time opening closet doors. not all usb's worked, partial wooden wall had large strange marks on it, mold maybe? Not sure. Indian lady at front desk was the bomb! She was fabulous. I needed a room on first floor for my handicap senior father. No problem. We unloaded, my dad needed coffee our room coffee maker wasn't working, she came replaced it and also showed us the area to get coffee in the meantime. She was awesome, she cared and she was super timely. Room was super spacious, beds are full not Queen. Price was good and she Gave us a senior discount.Breakfast well, if it's not busy maybe you don't serve much? They had some variety of cereals, juices and creamers, but there was no fruit fresh or any fruit- super odd, hot cereals were packaged. They had waffle station. Not many breads to choose from then eggs and sausage. Again pending the crowd- don't serve much? This is our second comfort inn this road trip and neither building nor breakfast impressed us but both had great service. 2 nd day breakfast after my review lol there were apples and oranges, machine for bread does not toast/ it microwaves/ NEED A TOASTER! Staff at front desk was on phone not helpful while breakfast staff wasn't there yet at 7!?:)- super odd- anyhow I'm lowering my stars.

Outside and lobby areas are really nice. Nice and helpful people working here. The room was a bit of a let down in comparison to other Choice Hotel brands I have stayed. The room smelled of smoke. I think they tried to eliminate the smell, but whatever was used didn't help.

Unfortunately we had to stay at this hotel after a house fire as it’s the only one in Clayton. This hotel is over priced and the Indian lady at the front is very rude. AC barely works and if it breaks you have to wait until the afternoon for maintenance arrive to fix it. Everything in this hotel is outdated. The mattress on the pull out couch is covered in rust from the rusty bar on the pull out couch and the bathroom door doesn’t shut properly or lock like it’s supposed to.

Leaving aside the scheduling snafu that forced my two teenage children to sleep on a twin-sized pull out sofa, this hotel is gross. The lobby smells like a urinal. The rooms are small, dated, and dirty (see pictures of the sofa bed mattress). The AC unit, which was inches from the bed, sounded like a jet engine and kept us up all night. There were bags of garbage in the hallways. The pool is tiny and in the parking lot. We didn't eat the breakfast because the hotel grossed us out so much.

We stayed here 2 nights and the hotel was fantastic. Room had a king bed with a sofa, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. BR was clean and room was spotless. Front desk was very friendly and the hot breakfast was good. Definitely would stay here again. Oh.. bed was comfy and LOVED the pillows.Food & drinks: Several restaurants within walking distance.

The location itself was nice enough, and the lady at the front desk was nice when I checked in. But the room left a LOT to be desired. The outlet in the wall was sunken in, stains and hairs on the towels, the couch had some kind of really... odd stain all over it, and worst of all - the hotel door was broken. When I went downstairs, there was no one at the front desk. So I dropped my key in the return slot and went to find somewhere else as I, quite frankly, didn't feel safe

I’ll keep it very simple. Our first room hair hair under the sheets and a blood stain on the pillow b this was a king size bed. They changed our room to a 2 bed queen size. After getting there 2 min later we found an even bigger blood spot on the pillow facing us. They didn’t even try to hide it. Thinking we had another bed to choose from so I decided to check the other queen bed. On the sheet underneath the comforter it had a dark brown stain. I was like does housekeeping even charge sheets. We quickly went to a Hampton Inn. It was so much cleaner and I felt comfortable. I forgot to mention this happened at around 1030pm. After coming back from a festival and being outside all day. For those reasons I can not recommend this hotel.

April 2023 by Chris V.
I had a reservation from April 6th-9th to visit family for Easter. We checked in at around 2am in the 7th due to massive flight delays. The next morning, we walked across the street to get breakfast. We arrived back to the Comfort suites at around 11am. My 12 year old daughter was the first to enter the room and went into the bathroom. We she turned on the lights she was greeted by a family of roach's running around into every crack they could hide in. We immediately grabbed all of our stuff and ran to the front desk. Now understand we were there for about 8 hours. We spoke with the gentleman at the front desk and he was very nice and said he would change our room. My wife and I were so disgusted we decided it would be best to check knowing we had no hotel then to stay a roach invested room. We asked for a refund and the gentleman said the manager Mr. Anil would have to process it and he would have him call me when he arrives. I called Mr Anil for days left messages a/o 4/17 not one returned call. I did how ever receive an email from a Pedro Morales and it reads. Dear Chris, Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at Comfort Suites Clayton - Garner. Allow me to apologize on behalf of our hotel for failing to meet your expectations regarding roaches in room , on your recent visit. I have shared your feedback with the housekeep department to better handle these types of situations differently in the future. Feedback from our Choice Privileges member on their experiences is what we use to further our constant improvement. Again, thank you for your time and valuable feedback. We hope for another opportunity to properly host you in the future. Kind regards,Pedro MoralesSales Manager For Comfort Suites-Clayton+1 (919) 553-1234I responded to the email 3 times and not one single response back. I called the number on his email and they don't even know who he is. Is Pedro even a real manager? On Thursday April 13 at 12:37 almost a week later I finally receive a voice message from at Tuti. I immediately called Tuti back and of course she is not available. I was told she would call me back on Friday and as of 10:30am on 4/17 nothing from any. This hotel is an absolute bomb it is a disgrace that they would treat their guests like this. I will be contacting the board of health and the local news next due to their incompetence and lack of communication to their guests.

I didn't have any problems with the staff. Every interaction was cordial. The Hotel is old and falling apart. Every room has cracks in the walls, damaged furniture and yellowed linens. I never saw housekeeping for the two nights I stayed and you had to go down to the front desk to get fresh sheets and towels. Our used towels and linens and trash were still outside in the hall the next morning. The bedsheets we're spotted with little brown marks that look like blood and this was in multiple rooms.I can "rough it" to some extent but this hotel felt dingy and neglected. This place could use a refresh and a reno.

The rooms were clean, and quiet. I got in extremely early in the morning after my reservation and they were understanding. Will definitely stay there next time I am in the area.

Ever heard the saying "putting lipstick in a pig"? I don't like to leave reviews like this. The front desk was fine, didn't eat the breakfast, but the room has me feeling gross and I don't want to have paid for this.Half the plugs (usb) didn't work - not the deal breaker though.Bugs, stains on the sheets and pillows, hair in the sheets, tears in the furniture, toilet that rocked when sitting or standing up from it, rust on the shower rod.Wouldn't have known it wasn't vacuumed if there wasn't loose change and red glitter everywhere. Hair in the sheets was brown and long, I have blonde and short hair. This was the same color hair left on the blow dryer.Pictures included.Rooms: Find a different hotel for cleanlinessSafety: Able to locked and deadbolt the doors.Walkability: Stores and food are minutes awayNoteworthy details: Filthy rooms
