I drove from Nebraska to visit family in the area and the engine starting having misfiring issues right before I arrived.
This was an possible issue we were wary of back home and it was something I wanted to fix before I drove back west.
A family member recommended this shop to me after several bad experiences from other shops so I checked them out.
I can confirm, at least in my experience, they did not try to BS me or have me pay for unrelated issues. Everything they pointed out needed fixed were things my trusted mechanic at home has said, so I have a great level of confidence in their work.
I told them the repairs needed to be done within a short time window and they accommodated me to make sure I was able to get back on the road in time.
So thank you guys so much, and if anyone in the area asks for recommendations, I will point them to you ?

Took my car in for a oil change and state inspection. It's a newer car so I didn't suspect any surprises. Unfortunately the designer of my car chose a plastic oil pan and the drain plug was stripping the threads. Nobody likes this kind of news or expense but I'm glad they noticed it and didn't just tighten it up which could have caused a major problem. They took me to the shop and showed me the damage which I appreciate. Show and tell is the best way to understand the issue. So I left the car to have the repairs done and pick up the next day. To my surprise they called me that afternoon to say it was ready. Not only did they finish the car early they called me to let me know which is not what all shops do. This saved me the hassle of trying to arrange transportation the following day. I appreciate the consistent dependable work I have done here and the professionalism.

Honestly the best auto shop in Clayton. Very down to earth staff, including a very pretty lady that works alongside the guys. They let me keep my car there for over two weeks until I was able to pick it up, and towed it back to my house free of charge. Definitely recommend this shop!! 5 stars.

Clayton Lube and Tune is awesome! They have taken care of all my cars over the years, from little 4 cylinders to big 8s, new ones and high mileage. The people there are super nice and always make sure my car runs great. I never have to worry because they know what they’re doing. They’re quick, friendly, I trust them with my cars and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Five stars for sure!

Best mechanic in the area. Clayton lube and tune and the people that work there have been kind, professional, and accommodating to get my 2011 crv up and running efficiently and also quick to get inspected. I previously saw another shop multiple times for a problem with a EVAP code that was fixed after only an hour at this place. As a woman going to a mechanic myself I never felt condescended or oversold for any of the services provided. I will continue taking my car here as long as I’m in the area.
