Go there and just enjoy yourself. The people are great and the gemstones are abundant. See the photos of the stones and the jewelry we had made on-site. I found 336 carat ruby (plus many others averaging 70 carats) and daughter found 1200 carat Amethyst. Lots of citrine, topaz, smoky quartz, and emerald was found in our buckets. We had a wonderful and comfortable experience. Eric was so helpful checking our washed trays with us. The assayor was sharp eyed and educational. I recommend getting here with the whole family in tow and just enjoy your gemstone hunting. I only regret forgetting to buy some to take home! Look at the photos of the beautiful stones we found and the exemplary jewelry these people made from our diamonds in the rough. They shipped our jewelry and had it to us within 2 weeks of our find! How incredible is that?

I enjoyed the staff but the buckets were not as full of stuff as the price they were selling. They sold find gold but they were so tiny..it did give us the experience and if you just want to understand how it works .then it is the place, foe you..but if you really are looking for something great..well I got more from a salted bucket out of Maggie Valley than here.

Paid $200 for gravel. This place scams people. It was a fun experience if that’s what you’re looking for but don’t expect anything good.

Absolutely wonderful experience! I first went for the gemstone ore and found some gorgeous citrine, amethyst, topaz and garnet, then had so much fun I went for seconds with the ruby and sapphire bucket and found a handful of each!!!
This experience wouldn’t have been as much fun without the help of Eric at the mining part! He helped me with his knowledge and friendliness, and showed me what to look for to find the best gems! He was the gem of the shop!
There was also a very kind and knowledgeable young woman where you can ask what the stones you found are exactly!
Overall they have an amazing team and great gems and offer a fun activity, rain or shine!

Was fun however, finding someone to help was difficult finally got a bucket got great gems. They do have a help wanted sign so perhaps that is the problem. Went to find out what we actually had gotten didn't have instruction where to go or what to do was chaos. Other than the lack of help and service it was fun.

Buy the 5 gal bucket. Ask what gems are in each type of bucket before you wash the dirt away
