On March 22, 2022, I sustained a second-degree burn at Just Salad South Park, which necessitated shutting down the business to seek immediate care at an urgent care facility. The diagnosis confirmed a second-degree burn on my right foot. Subsequently, I had to make frequent visits to urgent care every two days after completing my shifts at Just Salad. However, despite the care received at urgent care, they advised me to consult a specialist for severe burns, which I believed Hanover insurance through Just Salad would cover. To date, I have not been able to see a burn specialist, nor have I been compensated for the expenses incurred for medications, gauze, and bandages needed to maintain the cleanliness and coverage of the injured area, all of which I had to purchase every few days. Furthermore, I have not received any communication from Hanover insurance or the owners of Just Salad regarding my worker's compensation or information about the injury. The most recent communication I received was a card delivered in the mail to pick up medication from the pharmacy, which arrived nine months after the initial injury occurred.
