Dropped in while visiting from out of town and can’t say enough good things about this place. Really nice well maintained space, friendly members, plus you can tell the owners put a lot of time and effort into their programming. Doesn’t hurt that they have really cute dogs present, too!

I mean I had a great workout but I walk in this place fat as ever thinking I’m about to get some gourmet grits, not the case my friend do some research before walking in trust me, I have abs now though which is kinda nice, would love some grits at any point though.

I feel like 5 stars just aren't enough. The coaching and dedication to the gym members by owners Kevin and Amanda is unmatched. The programming is the best I've had in all of my years of Crossfit and am thankful every day that I found this community when I did.I love the wide variety of workouts. It keeps you on your toes, and constantly gives you a new challenge while also allowing you to work on a multitude or movements.Their dedication to the 'functional fitness' side of things also plays a big role in the programming. Form is always their number one priority and I appreciate their willingness to work with us on our form to eliminate the risk of injury and to overall improve our performance.I can't say enough good things about this gym. I'm truly honored to be a part of it and the amazing community Kevin and Amanda have so tirelessly built.

Been cherry picking Crossfit Workouts for the past 5 years and this is the only gym that I enjoy each one of the workouts. Owners Kevin and Amanda will always explain the why behind what we do, this is so crucial to finding a competitive approach or a plan on how to accomplish goals. They just do an excellent job catering to very competitive successful athletes to the first time drop ins (or from out of town) I could not suggest a better place to workout, just an wonderfully run gym.

I think one of the most understated aspects of The Grit Haus (Amanda and Kevin) is how dedicated they are to their students and business. Waking up that early and staying that late every single day is admirable and inspirational. If you asked them I am sure they'd shrug it off as a normal part of their daily routine and they probably wouldn't think too much about it, but I certainly do. Inspirational for sure!Amanda and Kevin are fantastic teachers - patient & gracious but also stern and straight-forward when they know you need it most. They have always made me feel as part of the team even though I'm not a "super- duper" athlete, they've accommodated for my specific skill-set and both have helped me improve.I feel that a lot of people may think that this gym is only for the most elite of athletes but I can assure you they find ways to get the best out of anyone's skill level (beginner, intermediate, super heroes).It's inspiring to see this community grow and to see the gym flourish, I would recommend The Grit Haus to anyone and everyone.DR 6.30.2021PS - Doc and Ralph (2 dogs) make it easier to show up everyday too.

OVERALL: Amazing gym with amazing people. Highly recommended for the beginner CrossFitter (myself last summer) but also the true elite athletes looking to compete! For me It’s fun to learn and try new things as a beginner but also allows me to see elite CrossFit members kill it in the same workouts and give me something to strive for. It’s a great mix with a great environment!THE PROGRAMMING:For the intro to CrossFit they provide many levels for each workout (ultra-elite all the way to beginner never done CrossFit before). They walk you through each workout step by step and provide the best guided warmup there is out there. Each workout throughout the week has intention and sets you up to build your CrossFit base even if your a beginner to elite. These are not random WODs chained together. Kevin puts a lot of time into providing every member the best long term training plan.There are also other training add ons that many member do on their own that is programmed by Kevin. The Grit Haus also offers a few Olympic lifting classes a week if you are really wanting to throw around some Olympic lifting style weights but learn how to do it safely and with great technique.INJURY PREVENTION:They know what you need to do to stay out of the chiropractic/PT offices with unwanted CrossFit injuries. They first warm you up correctly and take the time to program that in. It’s done as a group and the warmups end up being a huge part of the workout. This helps with injury prevention big time. They also watch how you move and if you are not ready for something they provide great instructions to help you or alter the workout so you can still get a great workout in but still challenge yourself. And it doesn’t hurt that Amanda and Kevin also run their own chiropractic office right out of the gym. If something did end up happening, they know exactly how to correct it and PREVENT it from happening again with professional chiropractic help.ATMOSPHERE:The gym isn’t huge and the classes are not very large. They Gyn provides enough space to not feel crammed but also allows the instructor to see everyone constantly and make adjustments if they see something. The people overall are great! Very friendly! Very welcoming! They plan things together like cookouts!COMPETITIONS:Saturday throw-downs, are weekly. As a member, you get to compete again other gym members in a welcoming environment. People cheer you on if it’s you again yourself or you against the person next to you. This gym also has elite athletes that compete at the CrossFit games. You can watch them train, see them place at the games and cheer them on as they progress. It’s fun to see how far they can go!To the owners (Kevin and Amanda). As a newbie to CrossFit & being an introverted person with hobbies in music / sciences...I walked in so shy and nervous. One year later I feel like I made a lot of improvement (to me anyways) with my form, my weight (slowly) my speed and even my confidence.I made many friends and learned to open up as well.I have a lot more work and training to do before I can ever be considered an athlete, but the challenge this gym provides me keeps me interested !The trainers are so amazing, intelligent, skilled and honestly genuine humans.They build a program to fit the needs of those with different athletic skill levels while training us on protecting our bodies from getting injured. It’s just amazing ...Anyone looking to try out a new sport/fitness style should try this gym!:)

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! The coaches actually care about your form and can see your potential better than you can. I’ve progressed more than I ever thought since joining the past year. Not only are the coaches one of a kind, the members are instantly like family. No matter your athleticism, this place is for everyone!

Great programming & great coaching/ breakdown and expectation of executing movements well. I also like the extra emphasis on mobility exercises during warm-ups! The encouragement and support from the coaches and community of the Grit Haus will make you better. 100%

Kevin and Amanda have been in Charlotte for 2 years now. They were managing STAX prior to Covid-19. Now they have their own Crossfit Box. The programming will challenge you everyday. You will see Kevin and Amanda in the classes working out with you side by side encouraging you along the way. They don't just talk the talk. They teach Crossfit with passion and they make sure every movement is demonstrated precisely. The box has everything you need and more. The Athlete Clinic is located inside the gym where athletes and others can obtain treatment for various issues by Dr. Wiechens or Dr. Steinhaus. The importance of mobility is coached just as much as the movements and techniques. And Saturdays are THE BOMB! Starts with a throw down at 8:30 AM and ends with a partner WOD starting at 10:00 AM.
