Disappointing, got there a 1pm and found operating hours are from 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday. Hard to drive there while working full time.

I don't usually leave a review, but this was an exceptional experience, so I am making an exception. The staff at this store is awsome! I'm a new customer, and new to leatherworking. Kiesha and Lou were kind, funny, and patient... patience was needed as my only knowledge was watching utube videos and wanting to do it. The other gentleman there was also helpful, but I didn't catch his name They were Knowledgeable and professional, but also easy going, welcoming and down to earth.

Good selection of products... but a big however. Despite product tags at one value, at the register, higher pricing is applied. In my case a 20% increase. When questioned about the difference the answer was " I can't change the register price". So what you buy based on sales display pricing may be higher at checkout and that is not mentioned. Seems like a poor business practice.

Please do not base your decision to stop by this Tandy Leather solely/simply by the reviews posted. This location has always been helpful whenever I need to purchase leather goods in person. I've worked retail and I've seen and heard first hand the customers they deal with (probably on a regular basis). Are they "leathercraft professionals or experts" in the sense of they know how to make EVERY and ANY THING, no. They are self-taught in their areas of interest. Are they knowledgeable about their products, absolutely. If you have the slightest and a realistic idea of what it is you are wanting to make based upon your level of experience and knowledge and a basic understanding of what leather is, shopping here will be a breeze. Leaving a negative review because:▪️The leather is "too expensive" for full grain and or top grain leather (it's corporately owned, sales associates don't set the prices).▪️They don't have the knowledge to help you redye your entire car interior (nor want to hear you cry about how you ruined your seats and it's their fault).▪️They can't advise you on how to reupholster your living room furniture.▪️ You want them to tell you how to recreate a product from a picture (with no details or information) that you assumed you could make for cheaper rather than buying and supporting someone else's livelihood/business.▪️They didn't tell you what you wanted to hear; the honest truth.is not a justified reflection of the store or it's employees. I have been purchasing leather for a few months and I like Tandy Leather for the most part. I do consider myself a novice, but I have learned a lot since I first started. My first experience was at the Charlotte location and I did not want to go back after that. The gentleman that helped me was dismissively polite, very uninterested in helping me walk through a project, but he was polite. I have continued to buy from Tandy online and gone to the location in Raleigh and they are AMAZING. I am in Charlotte fairly often, but I will drive to Raleigh instead of going to the location in Charlotte. Today I was traveling in Charlotte and thought to give them another try. I will not be going back to them at all. I will continue to drive in the opposite direction, 1.5 hrs out of my way. I am a fan of customer service and I will even pay higher prices for a product because of a positive experience. It was not so much that they were impolite as much as they did not want to be bothered. It seems like as soon as you say "learning" then it becomes a chore.

The store wasn't what I was hoping for. After shopping online for so long and seeing posts of going to the store to actually shop and picking out things my heart was set on going. I drove almost four hours to go to this store and I arrived at the time it opened and to my displeasure I soon realized it wasn't great. The store itself was a complete mess and the cashier was less than tolerable. The leather in the store wasn't in order at all it was like looking through a needle in a hay stack. After finding the side that I was so eager to get I went to check out to be rudely told it couldn't be sold due to a sticker?!?! No explanation further. I will stick to shopping online at least that way I can actually find what I need.

? HOW IS THIS NOT A FAMILY BUSINESS!?! Fantastic service!! ?The environment was so incredibly relaxing and open, Kisha , the cashier was So so so so SO loving and open for conversation, loving,attentive and held space by hearing our journey and taking the time with us AT CHECKOUT. There was no rush; NO “pay and get out “ energy as most stores. Kisha was attentive; engaging, and present. Me and my partner, felt very blessed to feel care, even after we paid for our products. Which, as any cashier, is their task. Kisha went the EXTRA mile to engage before and after payment. Very genuine soul: yes, it is about the sale, but, it’s also about the connection, the lasting impact. Kisha; did that, which no store can sell ;the experience with Kisha is priceless!

Store keeper was very rude and unprofessional.Will NEVER go back.And it's not the first time ether, I've put up with it for the last timeI'll just shop online at Montana leather, better quality anyway.

The cashier there on Dec 4, 2021 violated my rights over a mask. I’m a disabled Vet with a medical condition and can’t wear them, she didn’t care and insisted I left… mind you I drove over 100 miles one-way to get to that store.
