I decided to come to Sarata's for box braids due to the good reviews and high rating. I arrived at 8:40a and finished around 5:30p-6p. The first braider, Collete, braided very tightly but left my edges alone. The second braider was better or maybe my head was numb from Collete lol. Anywho, very friendly people and clean shop. Would consider going back if I can have a braider that doesn't braid my scalp into the braids lol. Braids were neat and beautiful, received a lot of compliments.

Sara always gets me right, she’s professional, very warming and is like the neighborhood auntie. When you need a have a hair emergency she will squeeze you in with no problem and go out and beyond with your service

I just wanna say Mrs. Sara is the best, I went to 3 different shops before I found Mrs. Sara. Now I wanna first say my hair was as long as a grain of rice lol when I went in the other shops to ask if they can catch my hair they just looked at my hair never touched it to actually see. When I went Mrs. Sara shop and asked if she could catch my hair she first cleaned her hands off cuz she was In the middle of doing someone’s hair and she said she and I was more then happy. When I came in to get my hair done of course I got mini micos and it took 12 hours but I was the happiest cuz I had a trip the next day, and my hair was everything. My hair grew so much and when I went back 2 weeks ago Mrs. Sara couldn’t believe how much my hair grew and of course she did her thing with the Bob style I wanted, I couldn’t be more grateful for her hands ;)

DO NOT GO HERE. I ASKED FOR A LARGER SIZE AND SHE SAID SHE WENT A SIZE SMALLER
CAUSE SHE DIDNT WANT THEM TO BE HEAVY. THEY ARE TINY AND NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR AND IT TOOK 8 HOURS AND MY HAIR HAS NEVER TAKEN MORE THAN 5. SARA PULLED MY HAIR SO TIGHT MY ENTIRE HEAD IS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND IM AFRAID IM GOING TO BE BALD AFTER THIS. YOU CAN SEE THE TENSION BUMPS AND IRRITATION IN MY SCALP. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Sara was able to take my daughter the same day. The work was worth the wait. The price was affordable. Sara is always kind and caring she is my go to African hair braiding salon.

I've been 4 times in the last 3mo and two things stand out the most, their willingness to accommodate and the quality of the braids, on average cornrows typically last me 2wks and maybe a few days .. they always last atleast 3wks or a bit over when they (3 separate braiders have done my hair now, mind you) do them. Only thing that keeps me from giving a complete 5 is I feel they can do better on the quality of products they use to wash and condition my hair, the products seem cheaper in quality than most salons I have been to based on my scalp (I have mild dandruff) and condition of my hair before braids (still left over dandruff and hair didn't seem as clean as say myself or others have gotten it).
Overall, I will definitely recommend them, especially if you're looking for someone consistent and have zero interest in being forced to use a booking site.

My braids came out cute but she braided wayyy too tight. I kept asking her to loosen up but she never did. Now my edges gone and I wasted 275. I’ll never come back here.

Awful customer service and extremely rude. I’m not sure if Sara was having a bad day, but her behavior towards me was extremely unfortunate, considering that I was referred to this salon by a dear friend. I left unserviced and disappointed.

They always get it right. They are always on time and they only take 1 or 2 short breaks. Their prices are reasonable. I've been there 4 times and they're always on point.

Booked an appointment to get my hair braided for my birthday. UPDATE: After 2 good appointments, I booked an appointment to get my hair braided on my birthday. I got there early. There was someone else getting their hair braided by my braider. I was told to come back at 4pm. This was not a regular appointment. It was my birthday. Needless to say I never got my hair braided. She called me at 6pm to come back. I had a dinner reservation at Eddie V's that I missed. Completely messed up my day. Never again. Hope it was worth it. They just lost a regular.
