Used to be the most personal and safe bank to use. Now our funds are safe, it is still great online banking, if only every transaction could be at the atm or mobile banking. But alas reality is it cannot be. To have to go inside be prepared to spend a lengthy visit. No deposit forms readily available. No tellers at the ready. Sit, relax a spell while one of their 2-3 officers in their offices can help you. Geesh! Really! Faster to pump gas than visit a PNC bank. .

The atm drive thru option never works. You either have to get out and go inside to that arm or wait in line to talk to someone

I visited the Morrocroft PNC branch in Charlotte , NC ,November 2019 . I was in the middle of a move and looking for a bank in our new market that was conveniently located with service for both business and personal accounts. Bryan Vanhuystee was the Account representative at PNC Morrocroft who assisted me. My local bank of more than 10 years did not have representation in the new market and I had a business checking account and a personal account. . I was told by Bryan that new government rules regarding business names required my business to be divided into separate accounts. The account had been the same at two different banks for more than 15 years. After the meeting and deposit, Bryan left town for more than a week , with no contact and I was left hanging with virtually no access to any of my accounts. I went to the PNC Morrocroft branch having been unable to reach Bryan to see if someone could help me. I learned my single business account and single personal account account had been transformed into 6 different accounts with different account numbers, credit cards to each, debit cards to each , PNC wallet on the personal account and a slew of account numbers in which not even the bank personnel could figure out which account was which. Upon arriving at my new location I received t 20 pieces of mail in the first month from PNC all with different account numbers but very similar account names - it was virtually impossible to figure out which account was which and the most frustrating bank experience I have encountered in over 15 years in business. Upon calling Bryan to try and resolve the problem , he was very abrupt , not kind and said "what do you need I am very busy". The next day I went to the local branch in my new location and met with the Account customer service person. Upon speaking with the bank compliance person I was informed that there was no regulation that required my accounts to be split and they would try to fix it. It took 3 trips to that local branch , spending 3 to 4 hours each time to finally consolidate and close all of the accounts. What Bryan Vanhuystee did in this instance with my accounts was despicable . Not sure what Bryan Vanhuystee was attempting to do but he caused 3 months of misery before the problem was resolved. . If this is the type of customer service that PNC bank endorses I feel pain for anyone who banks there . It was a clear lesson for me and for a bank to hire Account representatives like Bryan Vanhuystee who was not the least bit interested in helping establish proper account(s) or provide quality customer service to resolve the mess he alone created ,including communicating inaccurate information , I would not wish such an experience on anyone . It is definitely something to consider if one is looking for a bank to handle their business and personal transactions. I could not recommend this bank or its services to anyone. The only positive note I can provide is the two representatives in the new market who spent hours trying to fix what Bryan Vahuystee created all by himself.

Prime reason I do not bank with banks but especially this one! They charged me $40.60 to cash a bank from an account WITH THEIR BANK without my prior permission. Wouldn’t recommend them at all.

I make an appointment for 12:30pm, I arrive on time but they make me wait 30 minutes because they busy with other customer. Then why make an appointment for me if they with another customer. Totally unprofessional, canceling my account. Unbelievable !!

I was robbed at gun point, kidnapped, and forced to withdraw money from my PNC National Association bank account. This took place during the evening hours of Dec 9th/10th, 2019. In 4 separate transactions, I was forced at gunpoint to withdraw a total of $3000 and to turn it over to the robbers at the threat of my own life. I had also been forced to move money from my interest checking account to my standard checking account in order to be able to withdraw it. Throughout this ordeal, guns were physically held to my head and one shot was fired when one of the assailants did not think I was moving fast enough. After the robbers dropped me off in a parking lot, the first thing I did was to call the police to report the crime, and the next call was to PNC’s customer service department to let them know of the incident and its details. The service and support that I have received from PNC National Association, in the weeks following this incident, has been frustrating, infuriating, and really cannot be described as “customer service”. In short, despite their written policy of refunding all fraudulent transactions made, PNC National Bank has refused to refund any of the $3000 that was stolen from me. In the two months since this event, I have had to spend many hours on hold with customer service, have had to wait 10 business days for responses, and have been left on hold and passed around to virtually everyone it seems to try and resolve this situation. On a few occasions while following up, I also found out that a few customer service representatives never did anything at all, although saying they had filed reports, it turned out that they never did. I met yesterday with a bank representative who again said that “my appeal had been moved up to another department”. This is now the 4th time of going through this process, and we are now 50 days past the actual incident. I have repeatedly been told that since I “willingly” withdrew the cash, that they were not responsible, and that this situation is tantamount to someone falling for a scam. I was also told that since I was the only person in the ATM video (the assailants were not seen) that I could not prove that this happened to me. Although, I told them many times that the vehicle I was kidnapped in is easily seen pulling away in the video. They also described how I could have “withdrew the cash myself in order to commit fraud”. They have completely ignored the fact that the police arrested one of the individuals, charged him, and that he admitted multiple times to this event occurring exactly as told. They have ignored the police report I have given to them multiple times, and have failed to even follow up with the police. Keep in mind that throughout this entire ordeal, I literally had multiple guns to my head and was repeatedly told that I would be killed for not complying. The notion that this is akin to a “scam”, or that I attempted to commit fraud is infuriating. When I met with a manager yesterday, he largely claimed this was not PNC’s responsibility. It was not until I brought up filing a BBB complaint that he took my matter seriously. He had previously suggested I tell my attackers that I forgot my PIN number. They have the detectives phone number, they have the case report, and incident number. One arrest has already been made.I am a long time customer here, and am very disappointed. It is unacceptable that a bank would advertise all fraudulent transactions will be reimbursed and then do not do that. But it is unbelievable that they would compare this to a scam, and it is completely ludicrous that I “should have told the attackers I forgot my pin” in order to deter the robbery. I have been more than patient in dealing with “customer service” in regard to this incident. I have abided by the “10 business day response” rule even though that stated amount of time needed is completely arbitrary.

I was in Charlotte to handle family business and went to the Cotswold branch to access a parent's account with the correct documents in hand. I was asked if I'd already filed the paperwork with PNC bank, which I hadn't, and told there would be 'a waiting period.' That's not a normal procedure. I left and took my documents to this PNC branch, was treated very politely and they handled my request quickly. There was no filing of forms and no waiting period. Great service here.

This is the worst bank I have ever banked with. The manager is unprofessional. We could not get ANYBODY to help with our auto loan. They did not understand how to do a traditional auto loan, which I find concerning. We had to come back multiple times, for multiple hours!!! Then, we had an issue with fraudulent activity on my husbands account. They told us they fixed the issue (they did not) and then two days later someone stole another $ 1900 from my husbands account. Thank God I bank with US Bank from back home, and have NEVER had any issues with them. The manager is exceptionally rude and uninvolved. Every time we had an issue he walks away and closes the door, and refuses to help. Unbelievably unprofessional for an institution that handles money.

This is the most incompetent place I've ever been. It took them 7 weeks to do a refinancing for my car. First of all they gave me wrong advice and opened a credit card for me without my approval, then they told me I should apply for a personal loan instead of a refinancing. Reason was they had incorrect information in their system about my car and this came only out because I questioned several times why they suggest a personal loan. After the refinancing process finally started I got several calls spread out over WEEKS to gather information they needed and in the end they even forgot to let me sign all the paperwork they need. After I asked how this can possibly happen I got the statement that they are all new. They should not deal with other people's financial matters.

The Branch manager is Bryan is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is the reason I switched my business account from BOA to PNC. PNC on Colony branch manager is the best experience I have had in a long time with a financial institution.

I would say that PNC is the worst, but I've banked elsewhere & they pretty much all suck. The days of friendly service by bankers you know is long gone. All they really wanna do is sell you more accounts that don't earn any interest. They say all the right things but then deliver garbage. The branch manager is a dolt... but that's ok cuz he won't be there long, no one ever is. They churn staff so the only continuity is that they suck continuously.
