Hollywood Feed
2400 Park Rd, CharlotteSuch a beautiful store! I had the pleasure of meeting Alicia who was painting a very lively gingerbread man on the window when I arrived (hate I didn't get a picture of it). All of the decor was beautiful - the photos don't do it justice! The shelves were neatly organized and well stocked. The store was well staffed and everyone seemed to be on task. I wish I had had more time to browse; it was such a welcoming space -I look forward to returning!

Enzo Pet Supply
2820 Selwyn Ave Box 844, CharlotteI recently tried the Enzo dog towel, and it’s a game changer. It used to take two towels to dry off my 70lb Golden Retriever, but now just one Enzo towel does the job. Whether we're dealing with a post-bath soak, a splash at the pool, or a boat outing, the absorbency and size are perfect for my big dog. It makes cleanup effortless and efficient. Highly recommend for any dog owner looking to simplify their routine!

Pet Wants
1700 Camden Rd #102, CharlotteThe staff here is INCREDIBLY nice. The employee working with us let us know that the shop supplies their own-made dog food and I was really interested. I let him know that our dog has sensitive tummy issues and might not be able to handle the food, so I asked if they sold small sample bags to try out. He immediately said it was okay and that he would give me a sample to try and also reminded me to integrate it into my dogs food slowly to acclimate him! I thought that was so thoughtful of the employee and really made me know that he cared more about my dog's health rather than just a sale. The employee also let us know his favorite treats for hair and nail health, pointing us in the direction of some dried salmon bites and herrings! I got a couple of those to test out with our dog as we had been using an food oil previously. The environment of the store is very welcoming and overwhelming with the amount of products they have in store. It definitely feels like a one stop shop for all of your needs.

Pampered Paws at The Fountains

Whitney's Wittle Wonders
9009 J M Keynes Dr #11, CharlotteI recently completed the dog grooming course at Whitney’s Wittle Wonders, and I am absolutely thrilled with the experience. From start to finish, the course was nothing short of extraordinary. The facility itself is a charming, meticulously designed to create an inviting and comfortable environment for both groomers and their canine clients. The attention to detail in every aspect of the setting—from the well-organized grooming stations to the decor—made each session enjoyable and stress-free.
Whitney, the founder and lead instructor, brings an incredible depth of knowledge and passion to her teaching. Her expertise and hands-on approach were invaluable, and she provided insightful feedback that significantly improved my grooming techniques. The curriculum was comprehensive and practical, covering everything from advanced grooming skills to effective business practices.
I have seen a remarkable transformation in my abilities as a groomer, and my confidence has soared. The skills and techniques I acquired have not only enhanced my grooming techniques but also allowed me to offer a higher level of care and creativity. This course has been a game-changer for my career, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a dedicated professional in an inspiring setting. Piper Glen Animal Hospital
5105A Piper Station Dr, CharlotteMy two dogs (a rescued pitbull and a pit mix) usually see Dr. Wood or Dr. Williams and have always had positive experiences.)That’s why I was surprised and disappointed with a recent visit with Dr. Elizabeth Brown for my foster dog, Armani, a 1-year-old pitbull rescue. Armani is very sweet, though he can be excitable and nervous during exams. While Dr. Brown did examine him, I felt the interaction could have been more welcoming and supportive. She did not greet or introduce herself at the start, and her demeanor seemed uncomfortable with Armani’s energy. During the exam, when he was moving around, she audibly expressed frustration by saying “ugh, ugh” and even commented that her back would hurt if she had to keep trying, before sitting on the bench usually meant for clients. These kinds of remarks made the situation feel more stressful rather than calming. She also kept mentioning that Armani “needs a lot of work” and suggested that a certain treatment option might make him “more aggressive.” I have to note he showed zero aggression. And he’s gone a long way since I got him at the shelter, which I made sure to mention. When I asked if she meant “edgy” or “nervous,” not “aggressive” she quickly backtracked, but by then the tone of the visit felt discouraging and gave me the impression of an unfair bias against his breed. As a foster parent, I work hard to help Armani feel safe and cared for, and I hope that all veterinarians he sees can support that effort with patience and compassion. Small changes in communication, such as a warm greeting, clearer explanations, and more positive reinforcement, would go a long way in building trust with both pets and owners, especially with breeds that often face stigma. I share this feedback not to criticize, but in the hope it can be helpful. I know Piper Glen has wonderful staff (including Sienna who was very sweet and kind to Armani) and I want Armani (and other pets like him) to receive the same respectful, supportive care I’ve always experienced here with my other dogs.

5450 N Sharon Amity Rd, CharlotteThis review is way overdue. Hickory Grove Animal Hospital is where I've been taking my senior cat, Pudge since we moved to the area. I'm fortunate enough it's only about a 3-minute drive from where I live. The staff and doctors are so good to my Pudge. They do a fantastic job with everything. They're also great with the people. They discovered that Pudge had hyperthyroidism. She also needed her teeth cleaned and some pulled. Every interaction I had, which has been quite a few, has been a good one. All the staff and doctors are friendly and patient in answering any questions and concerns. They've been the best vet I've ever been to so far.

Pet Sitting & Training

Obedient K9 Training
1420 S Mint St Suite M, CharlotteObedient K9 was an excellent program that really helped me with my reactive and overexcitable dog. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice and very committed to your dog’s success. I had an excellent trainer, Brian, who took the time every Friday to walk me through what I needed to do during the week to reinforce the training he had worked with my dog on that day. It paid off big time as my dog is in a much better place than when we started. He even went above and beyond the syllabus that I had been given at the start to recommend other products to help with my dog’s training. It is a process though so it’s something we have to work on for much longer than the eight weeks we went to secondary school but I’m confident now in how to make that process work. If you’re put off by the price, don’t be. It can be expensive but it’s worth it and this is a local, ethical business that tries to do right by its employees and it shows in the way they approach training. I’m very much looking forward to attending the Saturday club classes.

Hakuna Matata Dog Care & Training, LLC
4033 Woodgreen Terrace, CharlotteI had the best experience with Mike during the two week training program for my puppy Luna. She transformed from being a crazy unruly puppy to a very well behaved one. We can now enjoy taking her places with us as well as taking her for long walks around the neighborhood. She listens and obey around 20 commands. Furthermore, we just had to travel out of the country for a week and the follow up with pictures and videos during the boarding time was great. Knowing that our pup is well taking care of and safe when we are far away is a peace of mind and make us happy that Luna continue her training at the same time she is having fun with her furry friends! They always follow up and truly care! Thank you Mike and Joselyn!

Every staff member I have interacted at Dog Knowledge are welcoming and Dennis is amazing and extremely knowledgeable! They give on going help with questions you have, and truly mean you are their customer for life if you have your dog trained here. We have attended a few of their Sunday classes they offer for free, and they have been extremely helpful. At graduation I signed Jackson up to be a member, for daycare and boarding, he loves going. The best thing I have done for Jackson is having him trained at Dog Knowledge! I recommend them to everyone that says they need training for their dog.

Shea-9 Dog Training, LLC
CharlotteI strongly recommend Brendan for dog training, particularly with leash pulling and leash reactive dogs. My dog had become extremely reactive when out in public or walking around the neighborhood. Walking had always been a stress reliever for me, but had instead become very stress inducing! I was frustrated and unsure how to fix the reactivity. I tried mightily with positive reinforcement, but it wasn't enough to motivate Ruthie, and so the reactivity grew worse. I reached out to a friend who recommended Brendan and Shea-9 Dog Training. I called him immediately. He recommended that Ruthie board and train with him for two weeks. I missed her so much, but it was so worth it.
She is a new creation! She knows how to heel on walks now, which is great for mutliple reasons. No more leash pulling, but also, she can now focus on heeling which helps her to be less concerned with other dogs we pass. Another positive thing about Brendan's training is that he includes a "tune-up" lesson a couple weeks after your dog's board and train has concluded. This was very helpful for me as we were able to tighten up some of the things I hadn't been doing quite right. I better understand how I need to reinforce the obedient behaviors. Brendan has restored my hope --I am thankful I get to enjoy walks again with my favorite dog :).

Queen City Pet Sitting
7418 Edenbridge Ln, CharlotteIf you are in need of a pet sitting service look no further! After moving to Charlotte in early 2020 we found a cat sitting service and within a few months realize we had made the wrong choice - issues with keeping the same sitter, inconsistent visit timing and even failure to scoop the litter box. We then found Queen City and haven’t been happier! We have been using QC Pet Sitting for about 7 months and we’ve had the same sitter (Alan) throughout who has formed a bond with our cats, is totally reliable and takes fantastic care of them each and every time we are away. I fully trust Alan and appreciate the support/responsiveness we get from the entire team!

Birdsong Brewing Co.
1016 N Davidson St, CharlotteMy wife and I love Birdsong. We have started going there at least once a week, as it is just off the trail it is a great reward after a long walk. The bartenders, especially Mel, Neilson and all the others are spectacular. The beers are always great. Just had Party Starter (Oktoberfest) and it is sooo damn good. Also you can’t beat the prices. For a craft brewery to keep their prices this reasonable is a rarity. It is always a welcoming space. They do allow dogs, which we aren’t dog people, but most of the dog owners that go there are respectful and don’t allow their dogs to misbehave which we are grateful for. All in all it is a must visit brewery. Get a Rewind Lager, enjoy the music which is always great and unwind.
Keep up the great work!!!

2511 S Tryon St, CharlotteI honestly wish I could give them a million stars and that still wouldn't be enough. We had to make one of the hardest decision of our lives on April 20th, to put our 10year old Mainecoon to sleep. The Vet our boy received care and took his final breaths at set everything up with Paws, Whiskers & Wags. The next morning I called PW&W to confirm our request for our baby's paw print, along with another request, clippings of his ear tuffs (Specific to Mainecoons). Without any hesitation, they said of course. Please forgive me for not remember the names of the awesome individuals that helped me. The experience was smooth and simple. The tone in the individual's voices I spoke with really comforted my trust in them with our beloved Tommy. We were told how everything would take place with lines of communication all the way through this process. As promised on Thursday April 28th, we received a call from our Vet stating Tommy's items were available for pick up.. Whew, that was hard. I opened but the box and there was our boy's paw print, ear tuff clips with some extra fur . We were supposed to call them back so that we had enough of his ear tuff to share between my mom and I, and an amazing unexpected surprise, they did just that! I cannot express my level of gratitude to organization and everyone involved! We wholeheartedly thank you!

KASE Havanese
2305, 6942 Lakeland Dr, CharlotteGot a puppy from them, and named him Bodhi. He's 2 years old now, and from the first day we had him, we fell in love! He's so loving towards everyone and everything! Has the best personality, great temperament, playful, funny, soooo sweet, and one of the the best parts...he's a cuddle bug and has been from the first day i got him! He's beautiful as well as cute as a button... as you can see from the pics. You can really tell how much Kase cares about what they're doing, and their dogs and puppies. It's apparent that the breed is near and dear to their hearts, and it shows in their puppies! Kase is an amazing breeder! They even socialize the puppies to other animals as well as many people of different ages which is really important and makes it a lot easier to train. I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Kase and gotten my Bodhi! I love him more than you could ever imagine! Thank you, Kase!

CMPD Animal Care & Control
8315 Byrum Dr, CharlotteI have never adopted an animal. I have one. I love her very much. I don't have the courage to leave her abandoned. An animal is part of the family.
