I will be submitting two reviews because I don't feel that the excellent nurses should be included in this review. Floor 6800 - the night nurses on this floor are rude, insensitive and have poor bedside manners except for Stephen, who is a visiting nurse. He was excellent. Very little care was required as a family member was there 24 hours a day and took care of the patient's need. Walked out to the nurses station to get ice, response was we will get it in a minute and bring it in, very rudely. I apologized for interrupting and again in the same voice said we will bring it in shortly. We didn't ring the bell for ice we went out to their desk.Tuesday during the evening shift the patient noticed that the EEG machine was flashing, something she had not seen before and thought something was wrong. EEG dept came up said nothing is wrong it's supposed to flash and tossed it on the bed. The patient had a really bad headache and was afraid to push the button because of how she was treated. The next morning another EEG nurse came up and said 3 of the leads had come off. What if these 3 leads were what was needed to diagnose the problem. After this incident I called the Director of Nursing (Wednesday) and left a message. Today is Monday and still no call. When she came into introduce herself she was really friendly, telling us if we had any issues to contact her right away..... I guess she didn't mean what she said since no response. I left a voicemail on her office phone. We asked several times for a menu so we could select the food that we wanted instead of it being wasted everyday. We were told to call down and order, how can you call down when you don't know what's available. And I'm sure the person who answers the phone would not be to happy if they had to read everything on the menu. This patient required very little care, I would hate to be the patient who was severely ill and was pushing the button all the time. We pushed the button once in 72 hours. It appears that I can't submit 2 reviews. If I could the day nurses on 6800 would receive a 5+. They asked if we needed anything, to be sure and let them know, pleasant when they came in. Dr. Patel is a great neurologist and is concerned about his patients and tries to make their stay comfortable. Even though his instructions weren't always followed by the night staff (vitals don't need to be taken during the night).

I want to document that this is the worst hospital I have ever been too in my entire life. I felt like I was dying and no one cared. I went in at about 4:15 am and still was not seen until 11:00am. I left and went to another emergency room in Huntersville and was seen immediately. The front desk staff all they did was talk amongst themselves and had no care of what was going on. I told them I was going to pass out and my arm was going numb and they looked at me laughed and said we will let the nurse know. No care , no action. I believe that nothing is truly going on in that emergency room and there is an extreme lack of care. Whoever is at the front between those hours should be fired seriously. It was night and day compared to the other hospital and all it takes it's management and effort.

Joanne is an RN at this facility and she is nothing short of extraordinary. I have had the privilege of working with her in the past as she popped her head into my room when passing by earlier this week to say hello! Thay said her professionalism, attention, caring and emphatic views of me a a patient in distress were very well taken there was a turning point where I was experiencing a complicated side effect and and she jumped into action and really made this a priority in which ir was. She is a true professional who will make your stay here just as mentioned a five star stay.

Changed my appointment without informing me. Waisted my time! Very, very rude! It seems like employees must be allowed to be rude to customers. She said the mistake was not her fault and hung up on me! Called back and asked for the office manager, she hung up on me again! I scheduled a appointment online for 7:30Am on 11/16. When I arrived a 7:10 because I respect their time, I was told by reception that my appointments was at 10am. When I told her that the only open times to make the appointment online was 7:30am. She responded with "they" changed it to 10am. She then told me that I should not have made new patient appointment online, it does weird things. I asked if new patients should not set appointments online, why would they allow it online? She said they should not allow it, but that is not her fault. I was shocked by the lack of caring. She said it was changed in mychart, but I that I did not have a mychart account (she said that's wierd) I told her the only email I received was the one confirming the appointment at 7:30am. Before going back at 10am I called the office to verify the new time. I selected appointments and spoke to a woman. Don't know her name, she hung up on me three times. I was quite annoyed by her response to all of this. She told me in a very curt manner that my appointment has been changed to January. I said it would have been nice if you let me know this! She responded with "it's not my fault!!!" Then accused me of being nasty and hung up on me. I tried calling her back and very calmly asked if I could speak to the office manager. She hung up on me again without a word. I was quite annoyed by all of this, but not nasty. I guess they have plenty of business, so you don't need mine.

My son was born at 35 weeks and spent one week in the NICU. While being in the NICU and after bringing him home, he did not want to latch or drink from the breast, only the bottle. I made weekly (and then every other week) appointments with Sarah at the Nursing Mother’s Place and with 4 months of dedication he went from barely taking any milk from me, to now feeding solely from me. He only eats from the bottle when I am not around. Without their outpatient support, I would have given up on breastfeeding much earlier. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. Sarah helped me physically with being able to feed my son, but also emotionally. She was kind, supportive, and so encouraging. I would recommend any mom trying to breastfeed to checkout Novant Presby.

NoVant hospital ER only! 10pm check in 10:20/10:30pm pulled into to talk about what I am here for. Vital signs. Every so often a nursing assistant would come take my vitals. 5am check with receptionist and tell them my infection got worst since I checked in and my pain level went from a 7 when I test came in to now a 10. They said they would let a nurse know and put notes down. 645am I doubled checked with the receptionist up front to follow up with any updates. She looked into it and told me the notes she have put in the system to the nurse had disappeared and or they have not received it yet. And she told me she would put in the notes again. 7am I was gone! Never got to see a doctor. The front desk employees are nothing but rude and have bad attitude. You can easily tell they hate their job.

You want unprofessional come here. They do not send out any regard to bills due to your address or call you regarding any issuess with due bills. They keep inventory on mail sent there was NONE, only email. I even have a picture of the last email, not mail they sent out I paid it in full then suddenly a year later 300$ was added to it with no mail, no email nothing to that regard. I called to inquire about this after it was paid these low lives even send it to debit collectors without having the courtesy of notice in any manner be that email, mail, nothing. They have dishonesty on the bill, I was not in a private room, I was not there for the length of time said I had a seizure vitals were done and I left. But it seems they want their money in any way possible even that of fraud. Uneducated doctors here have no knowledge of newer technology I have an RNS for my epilepsy they have no idea what that is! GO BACK TO SCHOOL YOU UNEDUCATED FRAUDS, I have a brain injury and I possess more knowledge? Disgusting.

Second time coming to this emergency department and both times I had to wait over 10 hrs to see a doctor. I've been sitting in the waiting room with an empty IV bag for 3 hrs and not one nurse came to change it. I gave birth here and that department took good care of us, but this emergency room is not the one. Go somewhere else.

Came with son to ER this morning at 9:00A. Standing room only. We have now been here 4 hrs but that's nothing. Someone said she has been here since 9P last night. Another said she came in at 3A this morning. Sick people everywhere! Vomiting, dry heaving, crying out in pain, and probably Covid too. Sad state of affairs. Obviously understaffed. People waiting hours and hours to be admitted from ER including cancer patients. Staff is doing the best they can, I'm sure. This is not their fault. At least they are trying to help the patients as they can get to them.

This was the worst care any of my family members has ever received in a medical setting. We went to the ER with my adult daughter, who was struggling emotionally, and felt she needed to get help before it escalated. It took 9 hours in the waiting room with a multitude of check ins with the staff on when she could be seen before we were escorted to the back of the department. The room she was put in was filthy and sticky. Very little information was given to us as to the progression of care she would get but we were told she would be seen by a doctor-psychiatrist- to decide her next move. She had medications that she needed to be taking for a serious wound infection that she was not allowed to keep. They assured all of us that the pharmacy would be given the prescriptions and would be able to dispense them but then no one gave her the medications. She was told she didn't qualify for the behavior health ward but that she couldn't leave or it would be considered involuntary and then she WOULD end up in a locked room. In the time has she spent there she has been in that same room in the ER, the room has still not been cleaned and she has not receive any of her antibiotics for the infections. She also has not seen the psychiatrist but was given a workbook to work everything out on her own. When we called to talk to a patient advocate, we learned they are only open during week days. This was on a weekend. AND we are likely going to be charged an arm and a leg for this. We will NEVER use a Novant Health facility again, if at all possible.

I visited the Endocrine office at 1918 Randolph Rd yesterday. It was the best visit I've had at a doctor's office. Dr. Moore is kind and very thorough. Even the receptionists and lab team were genuinely kind, patient and thoughtful. The staff I encountered yesterday was more than outstanding!

After multiple visits this year, I have found this hospital to be of good stature. The staff members are cordial and helpful. The physicians and nurses on staff and the Emergency personnel exceeded my expectations of care for my mother. I have no complaints. We were cordial to the staff and they reciprocated. If you think you will be there for a while, bring your own food. Staff can assist with locating a microwave to heat it up if necessary. A cafeteria is available but not of the caliber that I would want to frequent on a daily basis. I had no issues with the food and they have coffee.

From the moment we found out we were having a baby dealing with novant obgyn Hasn’t been great. My wife has felt they haven’t listened to her or her concerns regarding her pregnancy. She has asked many questions only to not get an answer. She has asked about educational classes about her pregancy and she has been ignored. Her dr left 3/4’s was through her pregnancy and left her high and dry. Her due date is Jan 2nd. She was labeled high risk polyhydremnias. So last Sunday supposed to be induced then tues we’d thurs then her due date this past Sunday now we are passed that and they cant htell us when we are far down the List. If something happens to my wife I am gonna Sue like nobody’s business I promise. I wish we never came to this hospital. I would have much rather atrium university they rock. I had my first child there. They did classes education made u feel awesome. Novant sucks honestly and i worked here for float pool for 6 years as a cna. I’m a nurse now. I will never again come here.

I personally did not have a great experience with the nursing mothers place. I appreciated the LCs were very nice and able to squeeze me in at a moments notice. However, I don’t feel like they adequately assessed our feeding issues. One issue that really bothered me is that they didn’t measure my flange size, instead they eyeballed it and said I was a 24. I went to a different LC who measured me with calipers - turns out I am a 17 and 19. This would’ve helped me save a ton on pumping parts and help me increase my supply very early on. As soon as I got the right flange size I started pumping 4x what I was previously. Additionally, they never did a physical exam on my baby. It turns out she had a lip tie and posterior tongue that needed to be addressed. By the time I figured all this out I already quit breastfeeding and started exclusively pumping. I feel like if I would have addressed these things from the get go my breastfeeding journey could have been saved. Also, I cried a lot during my second visit bc my baby was 10 days pp and hadn’t gained any weight even though I was triple feeding (normal to be upset about) and the LC sent a note to my OB flagging me for postpartum depression on her first time meeting me which made me feel betrayed and judged instead of feeling like a good mom for loving my baby and being sad and distressed by the fact that I wasn’t providing her enough nutrition. I had to go to the OB to address this which was a burden and the OB agreed it was just baby blues and appropriate emotional response. I understand she was concerned but PPD can’t be diagnosed less than 2 weeks pp and I already had my 6 weeks follow up with my OB scheduled so if I did have PPD it would’ve been addressed there.

Emergency department: It always seems like the doctors inside are more worth the entire rest of the hospital staff because from the second you walk in you feel absolutely disgusted, you feel unsafe and you feel uncomfortable but when you actually get to speak to the doctors and nurses inside it's a different experience completely after waiting 17 hours to figure out why your ribs are bleeding from the inside (not literally). I've also noticed that the staff in the children portion of the emergency area are very prejudiced because I sat there for seven hours and 45 minutes and whenever a different family came in that wasn't particularly " cookie-cutter " for some reason ironically the police/security was called " anonymously" .... You would assume being in Charlotte it wouldn't be that bad but when I tell you this couple came in and within seconds the police were there and this woman was literally crying because she was worried about her baby the police came in (3 of them) and said " is everything OK? " not to her but to the staff.... As if this woman was being belligerent but she wasn't she was literally just trying to explain how terrified she was.... I guess most of the time you don't have another choice because going to CMC isn't a great idea either but it's amazing how you can just not be the right color to feel pain or express your pain. Even when they're the same color as you. What a shame. Do better charlotte. As far as the rooms we went in seven hours and 45 minutes after we had got there and when we finally sat in the room it was another two hours before we got any response from a nurse practitioner we never even got to see a doctor until we almost got checked out... given that Doctor was very nice and very professional And was able to come in solve the issue and leave but the amount of time we stayed in the room for no reason doing absolutely nothing but watching my daughter suffer was in my opinion way too long and unnecessary... The room was absolutely disgusting it had all kinds of nasty unclean spots and it seemed as if no one cleaned it before we came in. I mean quite literally there was BLOOD on the pole of the bed that they had my daughter laying in..... If I can avoid it I'm gonna try to go to a different emergency room because I've never experienced something so ridiculously insane...I mean...this is America.
