The hotel location is excellent, the staf is very friendly, they are understaffed though. I had them hold on to my luggage while I waited for the room to become available. They decided to deliver my luggage to the room before I came to claim the room, and they delivered it to the wrong room. A stranger had access to all my stuff, and the hotel did not think it is a big deal.
Rooms: Clean & functional

Great place clean. Homeless population is surprisingly high in the park.

A spectacular hotel with far above average service. Very clean, comfortable, beautiful, conveniently located, surrounded by dining and entertainment options.
I would like to commend Yvette, Matthew, Angelica, Chris, and Kala for their truly outstanding service. I have been frustrated with the hospitality industry post-pandemic because it has simply gone downhill and no one cares anymore. However, Kimpton Tryon Park and its staff stand out as a shining example of modern hospitality at its finest.
Traveling on business, I had some large packages delivered to the hotel prior to my stay which were needed that afternoon, and unfortunately upon check in, they were no where to be found, despite their tracking numbers indicating they had been delivered. Yvette, Matthew, Angelica, and Chris spared no efforts to track them down and ensure we were able to move them to their needed location in time. It seemed like they truly cared about us and our needs (even though they were busy and had many other things to do) and for that, I cannot thank them enough. Please recognize and appreciate them for their service.
Kala noticed that I had my hands full of complimentary coffee one morning and rushed out from behind the desk to push the elevator button for my floor. It was so thoughtful and kind, I could not believe it.
The staff at Kimpton Tryon are very special. I have not seen a hotel run like this in a very long time. Kudos to the management, brand, and all of its exemplary employees who clearly take pride in their work. You are one of a kind.

I would like to express my gratitude for the amazing service my wife and I received at this hotel. We shipped some equipment to the hotel for a convention we were attending. Yvette and Chris were extremely helpful in locating the boxes for us after they were misplaced somewhere in the hotel following delivery. They went above and beyond to make sure the equipment was found. I would also like to mention Angelica and Matthew for helping us too. The level of customer service your hotel offers is extraordinary! Thank you Kimpton employees!! What a great hotel!
Rooms: The room was very clean and had a great view of the park and city.
Walkability: Abundant restaurants and activities within a few blocks in any direction. We walked to the convention center everyday for our trade show.
Noteworthy details: Extraordinary Customer Service!
Very friendly staff!

In 2019 I lived at this hotel for over a year. It was very clean and the staff were incredible. Our most recent stay was due to a flight connection cancellation. I was told one price when I was making the reservation at the airport and then another when we arrived. I asked if they offered a AAA discount, but the check in woman said only if you book online, which was odd. Then we went to get in the elevator and it was filthy. In fact when we left in the am, it had never been cleaned and had a dead roach in corner. That night we went to their Italian restaurant on property. When we called down from the room for a reservation, the hostess said they had nothing inside, but we could first come first serve the bar. We arrived 15 minutes later at 7pm to a practically empty restaurant. For the most part our meal was ok, but our salads were full of wilted and brown lettuce. The manager took the salads off our bill, but not acceptable for the cost of this place. The beds felt like rocks and the pillows are cheap and uncomfortable. In the bathroom the shower drain was moldy and the sink faucet was broken. Upon check out I was asked how our stay was. I replied disappointing. The man checking us out replied “Well luckily it was only one night”…Really?
What a waste of $700.00…

Nice newer hotel, well located across from a park, in the center of everything. You have to book a park view room to get it, though. Good restaurant. Spacious, clean, crisp room with a closet, a hook by the shower (amazing how many hotels fail to give you a towel/robe hook in the bathroom). I've been staying at Kimpton since they were independently owned, and I miss the old colorful design and happy hour. They are pretty grey and have a more corporate, less fun, feeling now. I also wish there was a coffee maker in the room. You can request one, though. Overall I'd stay here again and do recommend it.

This hotel is so beautiful!! Loved everything about it!! The location was perfectly located to all of the restaurants and sightseeing.I had a room with a view of the park and it was exactly what I wanted. The rooftop was amazing with beautiful views and good food/drinks...The hotel staff, Maurikis and Kala (sorry if I misspelled your names), were so welcoming and accommodating during my entire stay. They really provided top tier service and answered all of my questions during my stay. Thank you both for making my stay a relaxing one for my birthday weekend ?.

We were watching TV and it kept connecting to someone else chromecast.. absolutely ridiculous. We couldn’t watch our movie.
Angeline’s restaurant denied us entrance because we didn’t have a reservation (tons of tables available inside and outside) . We had hats and gym clothes, we felt as that was the reason.
Check out was 12, after breakfast we got to the room at 1145 and our room key was already deactivated. Spoke to the front host and she gave me attitude, she gave me 10 mins to get my things out. No apologies.
Rooms were nice. The hotel hallways did smell like dog pee.
Just didn’t feel welcomed.

Beautiful hotel, amazing location and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. We will stay again! The view of Tryon park is special. I do wish the rooftop bar was open to under 21 even if it’s before 5 pm.

Flight got cancelled after checking out and Austin the front desk clerk alerts us that we cannot leave our bag with the hotel while we wait to book the next flight and get something to eat due to “liability concerns”. Total slap in the face.
