One of the nicest grocery store/ Harris Teeter I have ever been to. It is 2 storage high and it is bright and clean and organized. During holiday they have great decoration to get you to buy more gifts. Seems like frozen isle is large than other store but fresh items are less for some reason.

If you don’t live in walking distance, please do not go here. The parking is horrific.

Produce is almost always rotten, or about 2 days from going bad.The meat is questionable. I’ve thrown away all but 1 pack of chicken bought here because it smelt rotten when opened. The parking lot is not big enough and people get aggressive about snagging spots. The only perk about this location is that you’re never standing in line for too long.

Excellent service, all the employees of the store and pharmacy are friendly and cordial, except for a lady who cleans the bathrooms who is short because she doesn't want them to use the bathroom. Oh, if you are not satisfied with your job, ask for a change or change jobs, throw away all with disgust when he does his job and gestures when people leave the bathroom 12:48 pm

Never had a problem before but the last time I visited I ended up with 2 employees making up new policies and wasting my time. Try hiring people who can read.

This is a beautiful grocery store along the lines of Kroger and Safeway. Everything was clean, well organized and fully stocked. The prices were very competitive and the people were pleasant.

My first job - in 1967 - was as a bagboy at the original Harris Foods in what is now Sharon Corners in what is now HomeStore. I was 15 1/2 (the youngest you could be to get a "real" job and you had to have a work "permit". You had to have a social security card. The manager, Mr. McCraw, was a stickler for doing things "right"and had zero patience for people who didn't care about the "cause". The cause is whatever the mission of the business is. The cause of Harris Foods was to offer quality products along with quality service to their customers. I don't think there are many people who know what their employer's cause is. It's a poor business culture. It's like what my parents called "upbringing". Either you have it or you don't.Tonight I stopped by HT on Central Avenue. When I went through the line the young ladies were talking excitedly with each other, laughing and yukking it up - never even looking at me. When I paid , the young lady put my change and receipt in my hand. Never said a word. Never said thank you. Never said have a good evening. Never said squat.I went to the Customer service desk to get a couple rainchecks (yes - rain checks), walked up to the desk where another young lady was behind it vacuuming. I said Can you help me? She turned the vacuum off and said "what?" Not how can I help you? or What can I do for you? Just then her boss walked behind her and I gave her an (regular volume) earful about her employees. Looking pained, she wanted to know which employees I was talking about so that she could counsel them (I would hope). No "I'm really sorry you had that experience. How can I help?"Ever been to Publix? It's a totally different experience. They are the Chic fil a of grocery stores - big parking spaces, wide aisles, brightly lit and (drumroll, please) solicitous employees with good manners and people skills. I predict that, although Publix is a little more expensive overall than HT it is well worth it.Harris Teeter used to be a really good food store. Predictably, they started going downhill as soon as Kroger bought them from the Kroger 11 years ago. Look out HT, Publix is sneaking up behind you. And so are Aldi, Lidl, Walmart, Food Lion, Sprouts, EarthFare, etc. Not to mention Whole Foods, Fresh Market, etc.

Placed an online order for delivery through the HT website as I have the flu. Some items were missing unfortunately and no substitutions suggested for basic things like chicken (bad instacart shopper).I talked to Instacart, who said to take it up with Harris Teeter as they processed the payment and would be the only ones able to process any sort of refund or credit (my credit card statement reflected this).I then called the online order department for the store location for a refund of the tip due to missing items. The Harris Teeter employe was very rude. She yelled, cut me off repeatedly, and insisted aggresively that I had to take it up with Instacart who fulfilled the shopping and delivery and that I was a moron who wasn't hearing what she was saying.Since I wasn't getting anywhere with her, I called Instacart again, and they transfered me over to Kroger/HT services who then processed the refund. Why the HT employee couldn't do this herself and insisted I was wrong.... who knows? This location needs to train their employees better. Being wrong is fine, but being rude, yelling, and demeaning instead of checking twice (especially when you are wrong) is unacceptable for a service facing roll.

Unfortunately this is my neighborhood grocery store so I resort to shopping here more frequently than I'd like. Occasional deals on things which are nice and they are generally stocked on items but employees here are not the best and the parking situation is atrocious. Always so jammed up and crowded if coming at lunch or in the evening. People working the deli/seafood counters are extremely lazy and take forever. One time the guy working the meat counter refused to cut us a piece of meat and told us to come back at 7 am when they opened the next morning when it clearly stated they were still open.

We came to Harris Teeter to purchase King crab legs, spent almost $100 on little less than 2 lbs. Upon cooking them today they smell spoiled and inedible. I'm very upset as I would expect a well known establishment to take better care of their seafood and not serve if not good enough. My family and I could've gotten sick due to this issue. Please be more careful, customer safety is always first.
