Pretty horrible experience. The massage therapist was crunching ice from her drink while giving the massage. She only did my back, and then said that was all there was time for. At one point she complained about her hands being tired, so she switched to a “cupping” tool. Hand and Stone is like the “fast food” of massage. They up-charge for everything (I told the therapist she could use firm pressure and I was told deep tissue is an extra $10), they make you fill out 20 mins of paperwork when you book online, and then give you that same paperwork when you show up for your appointment. The actual time of the massage is about 40 mins, they always end 10 mins before the hour is up, no matter what time they start. All that for $120! There are soo many better options out there. Never again.

Although my wife was pleased with the facial, her first ever, her inexperience was taken advantage of. She believed I paid for the facial when I signed up for the $79 introductory. We were charged $342 which did not include the discount and included a $100 up charge which my wife was unclear what she was agreeing to and was not told the price. I did receive the discount after complaining but not any other help. A first time customer was poorly treated and will not return.

They consistently cancel appointments same day despite having garbage cancellation policies for customers.

Facial lasted 10–15 minutes less than a promised hour. I wasn't happy with the result because there was no difference in my skin.

5 star massage today. Never have I had a masseuse better than today. Judy was simply incredible. She listened to my needs/wants. Applied the proper amount of pressure where needed and took her time making sure that each body part was correctly addressed. Having some many surgeries it's always tricky to find the happy medium in my needs and concerns. Judy was able to do just that. I highly recommend seeing her on a regular basis. So happy that I found her!

I have a membership I have been trying to cancel because my massage therapist is impossible to get in with and has cancelled on me twice. I’ve called 5 times since 3/18 to cancel and they continued to charge my card on 3/21. I cannot get in touch with a manager and no one will follow through on my cancellation request or call me back.

I came to Hand and Stone in Ballantyne due to intense lower back pain. Nautica (apologies if I misspelled that) was amazing. She listened carefully to my description of the problem, asked insightful questions, and performed a deep tissue massage that left me feeling dramatically better. The fact that I’m rushing to leave a review the same evening speaks to the quality of her care and how much better I feel!

I booked a “couples massage” for my mom and I to have a little “spa day.” Everything seemed normal at first and the people at the front desk were very nice. We waited about 10-15 minutes and watched as everyone around us was called in, but we were still waiting. Around 10:05-10:10 someone came out and told us that there was a slight delay and that they would try to get us in as fast as possible. However, my mom overheard them saying that they were going to “message the group chat” to see if anyone else could come in, indicating that there just wasn’t someone here for us. Around 10:15-10:20, the manager came out and told us that unfortunately she could not get both of us in as scheduled, only one of us. She also offered to reschedule us at a different location for the evening, but that did not work for my schedule. It seemed like one of the massage therapists was a no show, which happens, but it was frustrating and disheartening and they didn’t seem to have any backup plans in place. They offered us a free hot stone upgrade for the next time we come (we would still have to pay for the massage in full), but we don’t plan on going back and giving them another try. Everyone was very nice and they tried to provide alternate solutions, but I had other things going on that day and was just hoping to have a massage at the time and location it was scheduled.

Hi there. I came in the other day for a massage. It was good I appreciated they do the front legs but I felt like I told my massage therapist that I wanted a lot of pressure on my upper back/neck and she didn’t really spend extra time on it. Then, she said she was done and when she left I looked at the clock (she started mind you 2 minutes after my 5pm appointment) and finished me up 10 minutes early. I’ve never had a massage end early like that before and I didn’t really appreciate that I paid for 60 minutes and it wasn’t that length of time. I’ve had others in the area that are good just were booked up but I tried it out. Just not my type of place! I’ll stick with Eden’s Massage.

I want to express the profound frustration I experienced at Hand and Stone Ballantyne Center. Despite booking an 80-minute hot stone massage four days in advance, my scheduled 5 PM service on 01/14/2023 turned into a nightmare. After completing paperwork at 4.55 PM, I waited for 15 minutes before my service specialist, Julie, finally appeared. Another 15 minutes passed in the room without anyone starting my massage, leaving me feeling insulted. I stepped out at 5.30 PM, and when I shared my experience, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the 35-minute delay and later I walked out my appointment by cancelling my service. It's really disheartening to question if my treatment was influenced by my ethnicity, and this blatant disregard for my time and lack of apology make it clear I won't recommend this center to anyone. The management needs to take stringent action to address such disrespectful behavior and negligence.
