Taylor and his team are super knowledgeable and push you to grind it out. Their cuing and coaching is great to keep the form great! If you are looking for a place that has a great group environment and no judgement, then functional fit is for you.

I am 6 weeks into working out with Taylor and Co. Other than my back not hurting if I slept wrong and feeling uncomfortable if I walked up stairs too quickly I am noticing other changes.-If I forget something in my car and have to reach far into get it I'm not worried I'm going to pull something anymore.-When I mow the lawn, the lines are straighter.-I can pick up all the toys, cheerios, socks, shoes and whatever on the kitchen, dining room and living room floor much faster and its not uncomfortable.-Went golfing last weekend, golfed a quick round and wasn't tired towards the end.... Didn't even nap when I got home.Will update in 6 weeks on progress

The staff at Functional Fit is awesome! Taylor and Zan, Erik, Mike, Brandon are all top notch. We have have worked with them both personally and professionally. If you are looking for more than just another gym and if you are looking for trainers that truly care this is your place!

I have been seeing Mike O'Doherty for about 6 months on a weekly basis for personal training. If you are in the market for one on one personal training, he is AMAZING. I have seen noticeable improvement in running times, muscle definition, and strength. He has an amazing knowledge of muscle function and dynamic movement. Somehow, he can make the simplest exercises so effective. He gives appropriate ques for safety and I never have to worry if what I am doing will lead to further injury. He is kind, patient, and SUPER passionate about what he does. Prices are extremely reasonable and he is flexible with his schedule. He can easily work around injury (currently, I am in a sling from shoulder surgery and I still get a good workout) and can modify exercises quickly. The facility overall is very nice. Spacious and super clean. Everyone is very welcoming. Changing rooms and showers are available. Taylor offers other classes as well like yoga and group fitness. Mike also does a specialized mobility class too. I would HIGHLY recommend Mike and the group at Function Fit if you are looking to loose weight, get fit, or improve performance. They will take great care of you!

The trainers pay attention to what works for each individual. They push enough but know when to change it up. Great location, equipment, and I can't say enough about the great trainers there.

I was going to Orange Theory Fitness for about 6 months after they first opened up, and then I moved to Functional Fit about 10 months ago and I'm obsessed with Functional Fit! Why I love them 1. Small classes. Groups are like 6 people of varying physical levels 2. No workout is the same. They customize and create unique workouts each class 3. Events and Workshops: They have speakers, and different health related workshops throughout the year (today they have a vegan chef coming in) 4. Super cool trainers. Sarah and Taylor are outstanding! 5. You get a five star gym experience in a small gym environment and I think that's what sets them apart from other gyms. 6. Great equipment, variety of classes, and music :) Mild Stuff That You Should Know 1. It's not cheap, but I def feel like I'm getting my money's worth 2. You get what you put in. You can really achieve some outstanding results if you put forth the effort (with any gym) but I feel like you really have a leg up due to the custom workouts, and trainers FF has. 3. The workouts are written on a white board, and are demoed for you but sometimes I forget how to do perform which wastes time or makes me lose the impact of the workout. This is probably a me thing, but luckily for me the trainers are available for questions

Walking in to a new gym is always intimidating...unless it's this place. The workouts are definitely a challenge, but the small group atmosphere and personal attention you get makes all the difference. I've had injuries and limitations but the trainers always help me work through them. They keep clients motivated and value input on what types of classes people want to take. If you aren't in the best physical shape, don't be intimidated, there's a place for you here...and you might actually have some fun!

Functional Fit is the gym I have been searching all over Charlotte to find. The trainers take a very personal approach to the small group classes. They are constantly asking for input on schedule and class offerings and it is very obvious they have their clients best interests at heart. The location is super convenient and the classes kick your butt (in the best way possible!).
