Alex is so great!! The on-line tutorial is amazing. She has SO many songs to pick from and it gives step by step instructions and videos. We also booked an in-person lesson and she watched what we practiced and gave us tips and feedback to help. We ended up booking a second in person lesson to change a couple things. She is so accommodating and helpful! In addition to learning our first dance, we now know how to dance in general. I recommend First Dance Charlotte!

Alex is simply THE BEST!!! She helped us choreograph our first dance to a song that wasn’t particularly easy to dance to — a moment on our big day that was a highlight for us and a crowd favorite for our guests. Our lessons became a highlight for us during our engagement season, too, almost like a built-in date night and a way to shake off the wedding planning stress. Alex is fun, energetic, has great ideas, and taught my two-left-feet husband how to keep the beat! We even incorporated a lift!!! We will always feel indebted to Alex for the memories she helped us make on our wedding day. We continue to dance our first dance like we did on our wedding day in times of both joy and sorrow — a testament to the legacy a first dance can have on your marriage. We can’t recommend her enough!

Alex is truly the BEST! My husband and I brought her a challenge - we wanted to do the full dance from Dirty Dancing (lift and all) with no partner dancing experience. Our dance lessons with Alex were so fun, we still refer to them as the best date night ever. Our dance turned out perfect and was everything I could have dreamed of. Alex made it fun and easy! She is the best of the best and we could not be more grateful. I cannot recommend booking with her more!! Best decision ever

Highly recommend!! You will not be disappointed. It was great working with Alex. She was so kind and helpful when choreographing my husband and I's first dance. We both had no experience dancing and wanted to do something more than just swaying. This was a great experience with my husband and made the wedding day even more memorable. The guests also loved it! This will be something we'll remember forever.

The learning process was great. The program was easy to follow, and the progression from one lesson to the next was simple and made it easy to "build" your dance moves. The last video with the voice-over dance steps really helped to pull it all together. My wife and I had a great time, it was fun, learning the routine.The plan was for my daughter and fiance to practice together, so she could learn the steps too. She confessed to me on the way to the church that they did not finish the program. Our routine pretty much was side to side and some really nice double turns!! We pulled it off and it was gret.All in all, it was a great experience!!

Couldn’t recommend Alex more! We were initially hesitant to take the lessons and didn’t know if we would like it but had so much fun throughout the process. We felt confident going into our first dance and had so many compliments from family and friends about how great the dance was. She made it easy to learn even for two people that didn’t have any previous dance experience.

Alex was so personable & knowledgeable. She made our dance lessons something that we would look forward to, and it was a fun way to plan date nights leading up to the wedding. I would highly recommend her any anybody, regardless of your comfort or skill level!

We had one session with Alex and it was absolutely perfect to give us the steps and skills to confidently dance, dip, and lift on our wedding day! She was extremely professional and helped accommodate us when our schedules were crazy and nothing was lining up. She was also very patient with us as neither of us had done any professional dance or dance classes. She was able to tailor a great dance for us and made it easy to practice by hearing prompts in our practice video. We got great compliments after our dance and cannot recommend Alex enough!

We loved our experience with First Dance Charlotte and working with Alex! We had chosen a song for our that she didn’t already have a tutorial for, so we decided to use the tutorial that seemed to line up best with our chosen song. We also ended up being able to do 2 in person lessons with Alex and she made us feel so comfortable with what we’d done at home, and provided guidance on how to finish out our routine. We only told a handful of guests that we had a choreographed first dance, so most of our guests were super surprised, and it was so much fun! We loved the process of learning to dance at home, and hope to keep it as part of our relationship.

My husband and I were anxious about our first dance and wanted to make sure we didn’t look like a couple at a middle school dance. My father with two left feet was also quite anxious about the father daughter dance. But we needn’t have worried. Alex to the rescue!She was so kind and gracious to fit us into her schedule just as she was coming back from maternity leave. My husband and I completed her online tutorial before taking in person lessons. The tutorial was so easy to follow and well laid out, and gave us a good foundation to start with! Our in person lessons were something we looked forward to as a fun break in the midst of wedding planning stress.Alex is such a light and has such a way of putting people at ease and meeting them where they are, constructing dances around each individual’s comfort and skill levels. She was particularly kind and patient with my Dad, which was so appreciated.Our dances at the wedding went so well and people raved about them! Having some steps to follow made us all feel more confident on the dance floor, but I loved that nothing was overly choreographed or cheesy.We can’t recommend Alex enough. She’s a joy to work with and created dances for us that we will treasure from that day forever!

Started looking for places to take lessons for our September wedding and to just do something fun. Alex who was our instructor did not disappoint. She was patient, very kind, kept it fun, and gave us so many pointers and ideas so we could make it our own. She even gave us some tips on what to do if we wanted to pivot on our big day (which helped ease the pressure a ton!). We did a group lesson with other couples than a 1:1 session closer to our date and even got some practice in with my dad as well for our dance. This and the videos for us to practice at home was the perfect amount to make us confident for our day. She was super flexible to make sure we got what we needed in time and we created some great memories while doing it. I would recommend this for any couples for their big day or anyone just looking to do something different and have fun. Thank you so much Alex!!!!!

My wife and I had never had a formal dance together before, and my wife had never danced formally before at all. Despite our inexperience, Alex's video and in person instruction helped our first dance be incredible. We felt comfortable, confident, and in control during our first dance. And, yeah, we killed it.

My fiancé and I just did a group workshop and really enjoyed learning from Alex. We’re completely new to dancing and she really was able to break things down to make it easy for us, and fun to learn how to put dance moves together. Plus it was really fun learning with other couples doing the wedding thing. We’re booking a private session before our wedding and I’m looking forward to that too! Definitely recommend for any couple that isn’t well versed in dancing and wants to up their game for the wedding
