this stay was one of the best hotel stays i’ve ever had. the beds were super clean , pillows, towels EVERYTHING. the people at the front desk are super helpful and nice and will do everything in there power to make sure your stay is perfect. house keeping even was super wonderful. definitely would book here again when visiting charlotte.

My recent stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charlotte Matthews was far from the seamless experience one would expect from a reputable hotel chain. Unfortunately, the shortcomings in service left me frustrated and dissatisfied.Upon arriving, I encountered a check-in process that was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite having a reservation and prepaying for a three-night stay, I was forced to wait an agonizing two hours. The front desk employee not only failed to recognize my reservation but also attempted to charge me again. Despite visible proof of my reservation, the employee's inexplicable inability to accommodate me added unnecessary stress to an already tiring journey.Efforts to contact the manager were fruitless, with multiple phone calls and text messages going unanswered. Only after a prolonged wait and providing proof of payment was I finally granted access to my room. However, the billing issues persisted throughout my stay. A puzzling $150 charge appeared on my credit card without explanation, and during check-out, I was informed that my card would be charged again for the entire stay, despite having settled the bill two days prior to my arrival.The disappointments continued with the absence of housekeeping service during my three-night stay. Despite the hotel's purported room service schedule, no one attended to my room, and my requests for basic amenities such as towels were met with neglect. Calls to the front desk for assistance were met with prolonged hold times, with no resolution or follow-up.In conclusion, my experience at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charlotte Matthews was marked by a series of service lapses and billing discrepancies. Despite my attempts to communicate these issues to different staff members, no meaningful action was taken. This experience has left me with a sour impression, and regrettably, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my stay. It is my hope that these concerns are addressed promptly to prevent future guests from enduring a similarly unsatisfactory experience.

Do not stay here. I wish I would’ve checked google review’s instead of booking reviews. People broke into my truck and tore it apart . A hellcat got broken into also in the same parking lot. The property has “ Security” that just sits inside so you can’t go in the front door . The cop said they come to the property atleast twice a week for car break ins .

I'm on a work trip with my service animal and have been completely discriminated against. I was told to tie my service animal up in the dining room in order to enter the breakfast buffet. I was called a liar and demanded to show service animal paperwork in front of many guest. I was absolutely berated by the staff. I called the corporate office and was told I could enter the breakfast area and when I got downstairs I was turned away again. The General Manager would not even come talk with me he sent a message via his front desk staff. I will be here until November 20, 2023 I am in the process of filing a discrimination lawsuit for this incident.ncdhhs.gov/documents/fil…

Sleep with one eye open… but don’t try to watch a movie.Sketchy area with dated furniture and decor. TV functions- Showtime on demand, etc - are unauthorized. Just hope my vehicle is safe, and I don’t compromise my health by staying here.

The hotel is fine. They've done a nice job of updating it. The location was great for a cross country meet. HOWEVER, stay here at your own risk. My truck was broken into and some things were stolen. Ultimately, it made for a terrible weekend. There were other vehicles broken into in the other nearby hotels. We've stayed in Charlotte a few times and the police state that this area is targeted often. It is near a lot of industrial areas, etc. I would stay here at your own risk. It is unfortunate because there are not many options in the McAlpine area.The staff was helpful though I felt like I was left to manage everything on my own. That may be because they had limited staff on the premises.

I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I stayed for four nights and was asked at check-in if I wanted housekeeping services in which I replied, yes. She then told me I would only get housekeeping for one day of my 4 days stay. Needless to say I didn't receive any housekeeping services. The other issue I had was that the mattress was very firm. Being a side sleeper, my arms kept going to sleep. Additionally, my room had 4 bed pillows and all of them were like cotton puffs in pillowcases. Your head just goes straight down to the mattress. So, for all these reasons I wouldn't recommend this location.

Superior than the Uptown location as far as cleanliness. Welcoming staff, no drunk people, and quiet.

DO NOT STAY HERE! They are doing construction out front and for some reason start at drilling at 7AM. This hotel management absolutely doesn’t care about its guests in any way or that would have been ended. Call to the front desk for a new room and they offer one two doors down that “you’ll probably still here the noise” - spend your money somewhere else that respects its guests.

Look, the room was clean, hotel updated, pretty good breakfast food. The pool was tiny, gym was tiny (2 treadmill, elliptical, and a few dumbbells), and the room mini fridge had no freezer. Also, I wish breakfast started at 6 instead of 6:30.

Stayed here not knowing that the area is crime ridden, suffered the consequences of a broken truck window and some belongings stolen. I noticed 2 other vehicles had been a victim of same. Police responded and informed us it’s a common occurrence in that area. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Despite the hotel having cameras and “security” it does no good.Safety: For the safety of your belongings & potentially your family, AVOID this place and area.

BEWARE, BEWARE Stayed there one night and had our truck broken into, as did several others this seemed to be a decent location but after the Police came and did his report, we were informed that this area is a high crime area even with the cameras and supposed security they still broke into several vehicles. Definitely not a recommendation from me .

I had a very welcoming and comfortable stay, also Lillian Simon from Corporate was incredibly helpful and went well above and beyond to accommodate my needs. This is why I always stay at a Marriot brand hotel.

Had a quick business trip to Charlotte and stayed at this hotel for the first time. Michael helped to check me in and was a wonderfully friendly face after a long flight. The gym is small but gets the job done. The breakfast spread was impressive and had both healthy and yummy options. I suggest this hotel because the folks working there are truly great
