New to the area. Not what I would expect from this type of store as far as greeting and reception from staff. I guess it may have something to do with the zip code of this location. Defiantly not what I would have expected in this area. Sad!

Prime example of racism and profiling . Asking white customers if they need anything but not the black ones, when will people see beyond skin tones and ask everyone not assuming what ppl have in their pockets. Not all of one race has money hence why they are working at crate and barrel . Ignorance. Praying for the workers ! We will take our money elsewhere or shop online. Get with the times people !

I have been a Crate and Barrel client for more than 15 years. Crate and Barrel is my “go-to” store for modern furniture, decor, dinnerware, etc. Today I had the unfortunate experience with Meredith at the SouthPark, Charlotte, NC store. I have quite a few serving pieces in the Cambridge Collection and went in today to exchange an order (Cambridge Baker with Rack) that had come in for another Cambridge French Kitchen 2 Tier Server (I purchased one from the store the week before.) I wanted a similar marble. I explained this to Meredith and showed her the one that was on display that I wanted, however, I did not want the floor model and asked Meredith the check the stock for one that was boxed. Meredith told me no, and if I wanted the marble finish, I would have to purchase the server that was on display. Meredith further told me that if they did have it in stock, it will be a burden to unbox it and insisted that I purchase what was on display. I informed her again that I did not want to purchase what was on display and once again asked her to check to see if there were any in stock and if someone could kindly unbox it for me so I get a similar marble. Meredith finally went back and called in the request. There was 1 boxed server and it was brought out in less than 3 minutes. Meredith proceeded to unbox it and it took her a couple of minutes for her to do this. Thankfully, it was the same marble and I told her I would like to get it. Meredith proceeded to ring it up and I reminded her that I planned to exchange it for Cambridge Baker with Rack that had come in from the warehouse for me. Meredith rolled her eyes at me for requesting this. It was then that I spoke up and told her I did not appreciate her rolling her eyes at me and frankly her insisting that I purchase the display model. I wanted to do an exchange because I used rewards to purchase Cambridge Baker with Rack and they were expiring on 7/7/24 and I did not want to lose my rewards. Meredith became defensive and I told her I really just wanted to complete my purchase and leave. She then asked Pam, to ring me up and she walked away. I have previously worked with Pam and she has always been pleasant and cooperative, so have Philip, Jacob and many others in the team at Crate and Barrel. I’ve made a note of her name and face; and while I will continue to shop at one of my favorite stores, I’ll make sure to avoid Meredith because it just takes 1 unhelpful, lazy and rude employee to ruin an experience. Crate and Barrel has a misleading Price Match policy where fine print and slick semantics mean more to them than customer satisfaction. I drove 40 miles to the South Park location to redeem an online promotional code from a Crate and Barrel competitor offering a 20% discount on a Coffee Maker. When I arrived at CB the staff associate found the Coffee Maker in stock and brought it out for me to purchase but management would not approve the sale because the price match was from an online promotional code. There is nothing I repeat “nothing” on the CB website specific to the Price Match policy that states in plain language they exclude online promo codes. However the manager tried to point to a phrase in the exclusion language that had nothing to do with the price match policy. That’s when I knew that at the South Park location winning a debate with the customer is more important than Customer Satisfaction. Crate and Barrel — why would you exclude online promo codes in a society where 2.64 billion online buyers shop everyday?
When I asked for clarity all they would say is that “i didn’t write the policy” and “you can go to Sur La Table” if you want to purchase the item. Does the Crate Barrel corporate office know that your employees are telling customers to take their business to the competition? If you are reading this review and experienced a contrasting interpretation of the CB Price Match policy I would love to chat with you to see if anything related to my experience wasn’t anything more than selective interpretation of a poorly written policy. Until CB makes the policy more clear I would encourage you to not do business with this location or with CB altogether. I know now that CB's 2.5 billion dollars in revenue means they can make the rules up as they go and push loyal customers to their competitiors.

Jacob Rocks!!!! I went shopping for a Ninja Creami and was greeted by the kindest and most helpful human being. Between the great customer service interaction and understanding my needs, before I knew it I had the Creami of my dreams (deluxe of course, I love my creamiccino’s) Now my sister is graduating and I’ll be buying her one as her gift and I hope Jacob is there to help me again. When you meet good people, you just know! This is now my FAVORITE Crate and Barrel I’ve EVER shopped at from NYC to Austin, Texas! Thank you!
