Jack fried my hair. I went to him for japanese straightening and it seemed like he didn't know how to do it. I have had it done in NY many times before for years. I let him know that the product works quickly on my hair and previously they had to wash it out sooner because of that. He either didn't understand or just didn't listen because he knew he fried it and was surprised. I think he thought he was done because he handed me the mirror to look in the back and it was literally horiffic. I didn't understand what was happening...I figured he wasn't done. Looking back he thought he was; otherwise he wouldn't have handed me the mirror. I questioned him about being finished and he seemed to play along about not being done. At that point he frantically tried to put keratin in it in an attempt to "fix" it. It was extremely frizzy, kinky, broken and fried. After that I let him know that the last step was to flatiron it, and he said, "right, right". And he flat ironed a few sections and said ok, all done! But I can tell you from experience the last step is to carefully flat iron every single section of hair to smooth it. He is definitely not an experienced japanese straightener hair stylist. I would not recommend.

Jack did an amazing job on my husband hair cut. My husband has thick Asian hair that grows out to the side, not flat. Jack was meticulous and thinned the back of his hair perfectly while achieving waves on the top and side. So happy with the haircut!

I was just there last Tuesday and Jack gave me the haircut I’ve been looking for! He’s very tedious and made sure I liked my hair before I walked out. I asked for side bangs and lots of long layers. I’m pretty happy with it :) He knows his stuff! ??♀️

Jack Huang was absolutely amazing. I loved the cut. I was worried about my weird mix of asiatic and latino hair that sticks straight out when cut short, but he handled it so amazingly well. Especially since I went from very long mid back length hair to very very short. I asked for a textured fringe with a fade on the sides and he delivered completely. Definitely going to be coming again.

Jack KNOWS hair. A hair artist who knows his craft. He shapes, trims, and styles like a true chef— professional, meticulous, precise, and aims for quality. He hails from NYC so he’s got this straightforward english and faint swagger.Location is in a dorm-like building with many other barbers/stylists in each room. They have no assistants so they make the reservations, themselves.

VERY VERY RUDE here. I called to ask if Opti smooth was compatible with Japanese straightening and the receptionist hung up on me and wouldn’t answer my call because I couldn’t understand his English and asked if I could speak to someone else. Very touchy, can only imagine how they treat their clients.

When you come here, you’re coming for Jack. *He’s amazing at his craft, and if you tell him exactly what you want, he will either be upfront and honest with you, or do it exactly as you have requested. I highly recommend him for anyone with Asian hair especially. I have had many salons in the past that majorly ruined my hair by misunderstanding my hair type. But here at Jacks place, he will make sure you get what you asked for! I wanted a hair dye alternative that doesn’t deal with bleaching, and requested for something close to the realm of maple. And he majorly gave me the best hair cut and dye yet! (I also got my eyebrows dyed as well!) for Indoor lighting it’s a pretty chestnut/auburn color, but in the light it’s maple, iphone pictures just doesn’t do it justice at all and downplays the colors, because the hair color irl really pops! and I love it!! He also fixed my botched DIY bangs. I have no idea how he does it but he is truly a hair magician!

Jack is very meticulous and knows how to style Asian hair. Rare find in Charlotte. Definitely recommend!
