Charlotte Strength is one of the best gyms in Charlotte for weightlifting enthusiasts. The coaches here are phenomenal—dedicated, knowledgeable, and always ready with insightful feedback to enhance your technique. The atmosphere feels like family, creating a supportive and motivating environment which puts you at ease to perform at your best. The facility is impressively clean and spacious, offering ample room to work out comfortably. Charlotte Strength and HMB is the absolute best! The gym is clean, has quality equipment, and the people are even better. I don’t live in Charlotte, but when I visit it’s my top place to get my training in. Sean, Tayler and the entire coaching staff are professional and very welcoming to visitors. Highly recommend.

I’ve never been around a more supportive and driven team of couches. I felt I had permanently plateaued with my lifts, but Sean, the head coach, completely reawakened my passion and took my lifts to new levels. If you are serious about lifting and fitness, come here. Started personal strength training with Chris at Charlotte Strength a year ago, and couldn't be happier with my progress. Went from barely doing 10 push ups to 40. 0 pull ups to 3, and helping me meet my conditioning & strength goals in every muscle group. Great instruction on how to properly lift, while also pushing me to my full potential. Chris & the CLT strength team have pushed & educated me every step along the way. If you're ready to take the first step, and put the work in, I couldn't recommend a better gym/team to start that journey.

A great gym, a great community and great programming! I love that they offer both Olympic Lifting and CrossFit programming. I came to Charlotte Strength wanting to improve my Olympic Lifting, frustrated that my power cleans/snatches were stronger than my squat cleans/snatches. I knew it was a technique issue but never really had eyes on me to see exactly what. Within two months of doing Heavy Metal Barbell Club programming I was able to finally match my squat to my power lifts. I know with more time I will see even more progress! The coaches are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive! I highly recommend Charlotte Strength!

Great location and fantastic gym. The space and equipment are top notch (whether you are lifting heavy or getting in a metcon), the coaches are knowledgeable and stoked to help you get better, the programming is solid, and everyone I met here was extremely welcoming. Having 24/7 access to the space is an amazing perk for when your schedule doesn't quite cooperate. Highly recommend Charlotte Strength -- go check it out!

I was an athlete for heavy metal barbell club with 24/7 access to the gym which was amazing. You can train at your own time or during the coached hours if you want feedback on your lifts. I’ve been a remote athlete since January 2023 and have had great success with the programming. I am currently active duty military and enjoy the flexibility and consistency the program offers. Even though I have been in multiple locations/gyms, the gym programming has still been able to accommodate for my training no matter where I was. The program comes to my app every week, making it easy to plan my days around various other physical activities I am involved in. The app shows demonstration videos for technique and I’ve had access to coaches through chat whenever I had questions. The program takes you step by step through movement and rep schemes and the app keeps track of my numbers and PRs.I really enjoy the ease of use for my remote programming. I highly recommend Heavy Metal Barbell Club for anyone looking to improve as an Olympic weightlifter.

I dropped in for open gym a few days while in town. It was straightforward to set everything up online. I had a few questions that were answered by Sean quickly. The gym is exactly what I was looking for, with plenty of room and equipment available. Sean came over and introduced himself, and made sure I had everything I needed. Everyone was friendly, and the place had a good vibe.
