I took my dog here today due to extreme vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. When you are willing to pay for emergency care you would expect to see the doctor at some point. I say in a freezing cold room with my dog for 3 hours and not even a peek of anyone checking in on us. I finally went out to request a refund and the girl at the desk acted like it was no big deal. I asked if there was even a doctor there and she stated “they are in surgery”‘I said it would have been nice to be informed of that and I was told that the doctor had come in when she did. They had a shift change and no one cared that we had not been seen or checked in on. Also, when I decided to leave all of the treatment rooms were empty, so it wasn’t like they were over run with patients. Do not bother going to this joke of a ER vet.

My husband took our cat there and everyone was very kind. Dr. Andrews was very knowledgeable and sweet. The services were quick and efficient. I recommend them to everyone who needs an emergency vet.

Not our normal vet, we had to make an emergency visit due to a sudden and unexpected change in our dogs behavior which ultimately resulted in our decision to our our dog down. The staff was extremely compassionate and very thorough in their efforts to diagnose the issue which allowed us to make an informed decision.

Severely understaffed. We were the second to walk in and could not see the Dr go 3 hrs. She didn’t even look at the list of his current medications and brought out something that counteracts. Unbelievable

I hate that I have to write this review, but last Wednesday our cat had what looked like a stroke or seizure in the early morning hours, we had to find a vet that was open that early. We ended up finding Carolina Veterinary Specialist. we called on our drive there to make sure they were open, once we go there they took our cat right back, which was awesome because he was in pain.
once, Dr. Nowland got there she did the assessment of our cat she came right in to tell us the unfortunate news that we would have to put him down due to quality of life and it looked like a blood clot that even if we want to see if we could fix it the treatment may not work and cost a lot of money. She was very compassionate and took the time to explain everything which was a real relief because it really showed that she cared. The entire staff was the same way! We only knew them for that short hour that we were there, but my wife and I felt that they truly cared for us as if they knows us for years. If you ever run into the unfortunate event I would recommend this place over anyone else.

I took my 10 year old dog who has several health problems for a follow-up visit today with an internal medicine specialist at the Township Rd location. I had not met this vet before but was referred to him by the Carolina Vet Specialists at the Rock Hill location, where my dog was a surgery patient as well as a recent urgent care patient. Due to his many illnesses, the vets at the Rock Hill location urged the vet at the Charlotte location to see my dog as soon as possible. The vet refused and I had to wait another 2.5 weeks for an appointment. When I got to the appointment my dog was examined and tested; however, nearly 2 hours later I had still not seen the vet at all. I was told he was "taking notes" about my dog's visit. He would not meet with me until he was finished that, but no one could tell me when that would be. I was charged $225 for a "consultation" which I never received. Don't go to this vet center if you expect any compassionate care.

This review is to recognize and express my heartfelt gratitude to Courtney and Liv for their stellar customer service. Any visit to the ER can be difficult however, these two young ladies were the epitome of empathy and care during the triage process.
If you are reading this review, stop and save this business as an emergency contact in your phone for your pet. It saves you time if you should ever have an overnight emergency and may save your pet's life.
Thanks again for living up to your brand: you treated my pup like she was a priority!

Having experienced several Vet ERs, this experience has been the best! Dr. Miller and the ER nurse with braids were absolutely excellent. Very caring and the reason both my babies lived and recovered. I brought both my Sphynx and tortieshelle cats in with ivermectin toxicity one came home after two days with his main symptom temporary blindness. He fully recovered within 72hrs. However my other cat was completely comotose for over a week. During that time they worked around the clock making sure they kept her alive with fluids, and maintaining her vitals and temperature. She was unable to eat or use the bathroom on her own let alone blink. I truly feel most vets after the 72 hour mark would’ve given up recommended I put her down or demanded more money, however Dr. Miller was optimistic but honest about her condition and continued to care for her the best she could until it was 10 days without improvement and honestly she’d stayed past our budget. I decided to take her home, Dr. Miller respected that decision installed a tube for feeding, and gave me a bunch of instructions and SQ fluids. My girl came out of her coma 11 days after the day of ivermectin ingestion and is almost completely normal after 2.5 weeks. This is a place that cares. They let me visit my cat everyday! All Vet ERs are extremely expensive . However this place by far the most reasonable and isn’t greedy or all about the money. I also feel like Dr. Miller as busy as she is very communicative she gave us daily updates.

The team at Carolina Veterinary Specialists took us as an emergency visit. We were immediately seen, and moved to a room. We were very worried as our cat was put on oxygen. We did not have to wait long to hear from techs, and then the Veterinarian on duty Dr. Miller. Unfortunately the news we received was not good and a total shock. Dr. Miller was extremely sympathetic and explained every option we had to us, and that it would put our baby through a lot. She was thorough, and compassionate. We unfortunately had to make the decision to put our girl to sleep. The staff was very kind and allowed us as much time with her as we wanted. We were heartbroken, a week later we received a card in the mail from them, and they also mailed us back our records that we had forgotten (which also had our other cats information.) We were very grateful for both. Thank you to everyone who helped us through this extremely difficult time. You all made us feel so supported through making one of the hardest decisions we had to. Thank you for your kindness.

Had to come in for an Emergency after our puppy got bit by another one of our dogs. As any normal dog mom would be, I was frantic and hysterical. The ladies at the front desk took her back immediately. They were SO compassionate with our situation and getting our information. We saw Dr. Trisha Venzke, who was also very compassionate, caring, thorough, and took her time with us. We decided to leave the puppy for overnight observation because of the level of comfort the team provided us in their ability to provide the best care for our little girl. I cannot recommend them enough for any emergency vet needs.

I took my 4 month old puppy, Tucker, in for extreme digestive upset. It was a Sunday night around 10PM. He was put into a room right away and seen within the hour. The techs and vet treated him with love, care and quick consideration. They were able to give him a diagnosis and provided me with all the medication and instructions required to continue to treat him at home. They were also extremely reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place.
