The room was clean and didn’t stink but the hallways reeked, and the community trash was overflowing in the hallways. Stay away from the third party site reviews

Poorly maintained, charge for parking in their own lot, had to change room because sheets were nasty, remote control did not work, and had to go to receptionist to fix, poor quality TV. Not sure how they got and maintained the sonesta brand.

Unfortunately it is an old hotel, the elevator does not look or feel very safe. I used the stairs during my stay. The carpet on the stairs is old, although it was clean you could see stains that are typical of old things. The rooms are larger than regular hotel rooms. Old televisions. I couldn't connect my devices. There are no USB charging connections, so if you don't bring a block charger you will be in trouble. I found a toenail in the bathroom, dishes in the dishwasher that were still dirty. The furniture is damaged as are the curtains. The shower pressure is fantastic. The best thing about the hotel is the staff!Rooms: Great but we need a more detailed cleaning and new furniture.

The rooms were clean and it was nice to stay after a concert since it was a little bit outside of town so we could get back to the triangle area quickly the next morning. One of the doors on the far end of the building was propped open and I alerted the front desk person and she did not seem to care very much about that. I did not feel great about my security there.

I booked a very, very cheap rate hotel that looked better than a "motel" for a stay that was close to PNC Music Pavilion. By the reviews I was kinda worried what I was walking in to but we didn't have the money for a $300/night hire just to sleep after a concert. Well- I was blown away by my cheap hotel that I booked. I loved it! Upon entering, it smells so clean- it IS clean! Reception and check in was great and hospitable. The room was fantastic. A full, clean kitchen with a stove, dishes, full size fridge and freezer. The bed was extremely comfortable! Huge desk space and the shower had so much pressure that I got three showers in my 13 hour stay here. If you are looking for a clean, safe, excellent reasonable hotel for a concert- this is your place!! Kudos to you Sonesta! Oh, the gym and laundry room are great, too!

PROS: The room is nice and clean.The employees are friendly.Nice quiet area. Bbq spot! GymBE AWARE: There is a 100 deposit due at check-in.If you extend your stay it will be considered a new reservation with a new 100 deposit due. Not a new room but a new deposit. And I have to wait up to a week for the initial deposit t0 be returned. I don't want you t0 have the same surprise I got on my bday. Out of town with unplanned expenses could've left me in the street. Unexpected inconvenience at the very least!Not a bad place to stay though!

I arrived to Simply Sonesta Suite hotel prior to the Labor Day wknd on a solo trip just to get a feel of NC! I walked into the hotel and immediately I knew the pics online didn’t match up with how dirty and filthy the place was from the time I stepped into the hotel! I decided it’s only for 4 days I’ll just tough it out! I arrived late evening, so I ordered me some food when I got settled! I wasn’t really hungry after food was delivered so I decided to just wait till morning to indulge. Get up the next morning grab food to warm in microwave and head in shower, so it can be nice and warm when I get out! I sit to eat my cheesy sticks and 1/2 way in to eating the last few pieces a cockroach comes from out of the box after I’ve eaten most of the food ?? I completely sick at this point and contact room service to see what they can do about the situation! The manager finally comes to the phone and offers me to move to another room!!! By now I’m livid about the whole situation, so I request a refund and ask if I can be placed at another Sonesta being it’s a few miles away…Manager tells me NO and I have a hour to completely check out or I’ll be charged additional fees! I’m in a place Ive never been before in my life and just basically SOL because at this point it’s noon and to book another hotel is of course going to cost more money bring it’s a holiday wknd along with getting transportation to get to another hotel! I cancel all my activities that I had planned for the day to wait until I can get in another hotel! All while waiting I contacted Sonesta CS and filed a formal complaint! I can’t even understand why I wasn’t able to transfer and instead was told I had to pay the rate that was for the day and not the deal I received when I booked a few months ago! Ruined my vacation and I waiting to be reimbursed for extra expenses besides refund of initial booking!

Walking in it smelled like a nursing home and corn chips. The room I was supposed to get was a suite that they was charging 98 a night for , the lady showed me the room and it looked more like 50 a night and there was smoke burns in the seats and smelled like cigarettes even though I asked and was told it was a smoke free hotel . Not true the lady who showed me around was nasty talking a smacking her lips with every word real ghetto honestly.Save your money picture on sites aren't how the room look

I do not know where to start. The staff here is like none I've ever encountered in my life Shamika Stephanie the manager he was omg I can't even. What a wonderful place. From my heart I can't be anymore grateful than I am in my heart. You have all made our stay such a pleasure. Even dealing with all we have dealt with you havevall managed to make us smile. I will be forever grateful to this staff and management team for all they've done for us. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through charlotte. They will take care of you during your entire stay. God bless each of you. Thank you for making a rough time simply "sweet"

They charge $5 for parking your car in their own lot. The lobby was non-existent. Their reception desk was falling apart. The elevator felt like it was going to break down every time we took it. They tried to give us a room literally 5 feet from the reception desk. The bathtub was dirty. The AC unit made a horrible sound. The hallways stunk like cigarettes. Our door creaked so loud we thought we were gonna wake up everyone on the floor. We genuinely wanted a refund as soon as we arrived, but they do not do refunds for reserved bookings. Not really a surprise considering the overall experience.Rooms: Big rooms, with a stovetop, microwave, fridge, freezer, sink, and dishwasher.Food & drinks: No food and/or drinks to speak of.Noteworthy details: Elevator felt like an unironic tower of terror.
