I would give this ZERO stars if I could. We showed up for a reservation, no one was there, sign on door said open, no one would answer their phone, we saw no van in the parking lot (what we were renting), then asked some guy cleaning outside and he said there was an emergency and he had to leave and would be back in an hour or so. No one reached out to us, no note on the door, no one to answer phones. We had to get our rental transferred and drive even farther out of our way to pick it up and now we are going to be late. Unreliable. I should have read all the r other bad reviews first.

We prepaid for this rental car. Arrived at desk & line is past Enterprise. There are only 2 ppl working Avis. This is ridiculous. We will go hertz or nearly anyone else next time we rent a car. A higher price is worth not waiting in a huge line!!! The one serpentines as you get closer. So it'll probably take 30-50 minutes to get thru it. Pathetic. Don't do a car rental from Avis at Charlotte Airport.

Great location on South Blvd. with professional service; owner went above and beyond to make sure a mini-van was ready for us despite the crazy busy rush of furniture mart in Charlotte. Much more convenient than the airport for pick-up; will use again.

Service for some of there authorized companies is a disgrace, not professional and don't care or make efforts to locate a reservation. Show up to pick up your reservation and say we can't help you..Terrible

I booked my truck weeks ago. It's not ready, and I have to pay another $97-$140 for commercial truck coverage. Nothing mentioned about this to me at the time of booking. Thanks for the bitter taste in my mouth, Budget. Maybe next time you'll be ready when you say and you'll be more forthright about all the charges.

This is an absolutely horrible rental car location. I made a reservation weeks in advance and they did not have any cars available at my arrival time. I received a car an hour late and it wasn't cleaned or sanitized as the website stated it would be. I still had to pay full price. This was ridiculous and no one seemed to care. Go to enterprise which is next door.

If I could rate this with zero stars, I would. I reserved as 16' box truck for the hours of 9AM - 12PM for yesterday. I received multiple confirmation emails and details for pickup in the week leading up to the pickup date. I arrived at 4200 South Blvd and said I had a reservation for a box truck and the man at the desk said, "Ugh, I do not know why they keep doing this... we don't even carry trucks at this location." Apparently this also happened twice on Thursday with other customers. I then went next door to the Enterprise location and they explained that they get several customers per week from the Budget/Avis location who have been promised trucks that do not exist.Budget's inventory manager called me about 30 minutes later to tell me they have zero trucks available in the entire Charlotte market and offered zero options to resolve the issue. This place must be reported to BBB - they consistently promise on a product that does not exist and then fail to remedy the problems they create.In all, I spoke to one person on-site, and 4 people in customer service over the phone. No apology, no option to speak to a manager about the inventory they promise. No offer of alternative solution or assistance.

Worst customer service. I had a reservation for a rental car, they called the night before saying they had no cars. Spent hours on the phone trying to change to a different pick up location and they cancelled my reservation. Said a new reservation would be 600 dollars more.

The office was professional though unfriendly. No restrooms. Ample parking early in the morning. I was able to pickup a truck and it was at a good rate. But it was one of the nastiest trucks I have ever rented. No cockroaches but dirty, old, worn out and had a leak in the box and the cab. 179,000 mile is way to many miles in a truck for a one way haul. I’d have to say in have had other nasty trucks with other agencies.

Beware! A truck reservation, even with a confirmation email isn’t a GUARANTEED reservation for the truck, at a specific time and day. They don’t tell you that when you make the online reservation. However if you call to confirm, they will let you know if you ask.

Reservation @ 5:30 to pickup a moving truck. Business hours were until 6:00. The business closed early without any notice. Absolutely inexcusable as other customers were trying to return vehicles as well to find they had closed early for the day. Go spend more to get a U-Haul. You’ll thank yourself later.

Had an amazing experience renting a car here. Anishka was super nice and professional! I came to Avis Budget a day before my birthday and needed a car for a trip. Before that, I did not know about Avis so I went to every other car renting place in Charlotte, but none of them had cars available. I was devastated because I actually booked the car at enterprise 3 days prior the trip and the last minute they told me that they did not have a car for me. After running and calling every where, I found Avis Budget, came there in tears because I thought I am going to have to cancel my trip now. But they gave me a car in 2 minutes!!! I was so happy!! No trouble, simple, easy, fast and always available! And cheaper and more affordable!! Thanks God, Enterprise did not have a car for me because it worked out very well at the end! Definitely the best car rental place!!! Thanks Anishka!!!
