The car we picked up in a dark garage at 9PM at Charlotte Douglas airport, was so disgusting. Windows were down as it probably needed airing out but the inside and outside was filthy! Shame on budget and I would like money back. I deserve a clean car!!! I didn’t know how dirty until we were off the airport and in a lot with lighting. It was lay and we had an hour and a half drive! So we were stuck.

Had a four day rental for my trip to North/South Carolina. When I arrived they didn't have the sports car I had reserved, so they upgraded me to a luxury vehicle. It was well worth it for the amount of driving I did. Thanks Budget.

If I could give CLT Airport Budget 0 star, I would. I will never rent from Budget ever again. I have never rented a car or a van that have tires this worn out... Would never think this would happen but notice the cracked windshield and two very worn front tires after we got out of the airport and they were not able to change vehicle for us when we called them. We called the Emergency line and after disputing for 2 hrs, they told us to go to a nearby tire store they recommended and change there but we have to pay for it and they will reimburse after. We have 2 little one with us and we were not even close to our destination yet. Did exactly what they said and now they left us hanging. We spent over $300 for tires. They said they will not reimburse our $ back for the tires. ???Budget, YOU DID US NO GOOD!!!!

Pre arranged rental a month in advance. There are 8 different rental companies at this location. The Budget/Avis desk has 15 terminals but only 2 people working. Everyone is pre arranged so they had to know there were lots of check ins but were not staffed accordingly. There were easily. 50-60 people in line when I arrived. A 5 minutes per person you do the math. I waited in line 2 hours. The only thing that made it better is one of the employees apologized and asked for patience several times and was a wonderful energetic person. He was actually working two desks to make things go faster. My wife and I arrived on separate flights and she was an hour behind me. If we would have arrived together I would have cancelled and gone with another empty desk company.

One person works both Avis and Budget counters, making everyone stand in line for 45 minutes up to over an hour. You would be better off getting a ride to another rental car service just outside the airport and save yourself the crazy added fees and jour and a half wait to get to a rude counter service employee. Pay your employees a living wage so they actually want to work here! Enjoy this posters quote “Standing in line belongs in the past” as we stand here…I recommend anywhere else…

WORST experience in my life. Poor signage at the airport to get customers to the correct counter. OVER 100 people in line. Took 1.5 hours to pick up a vehicle. No line designated for customers with reservation. Pathetic management at this airport!! And the picture is only PART of the line. Line extended to the outside doors of the airport.

I arrived at the airport at midnight and after 1.5 hrs of waiting I was told that my reservation (made 2 weeks prior) wouldn’t be abided by. Budget ran out of vehicles. Later the employee pulled vehicles “from a locked gate” and I was one of the lucky few to get a car. The employee working yelled at a women who recently gave birth and told her she would not be getting a car after someone left the line to allow her to take their reservation. This is no way to treat a customer. The car I received was 20K miles passed due for an oil change, no tread on the tires, and brakes were not fully functional. This is unacceptable especially for a state where I was driving in the mountains. Hitting the breaks caused a loud vibration throughout the vehicle and did not abruptly stop when hit. Furthermore car interior dirty, and had stains throughout the headliner. Not a pleasant experience by any means.unfortunately I only took 1 photo shown below. This car would have wrecked had the weather been anything but perfect during my 2 day stay.

Worst rental car experience ever. I travel a ton, and this has been by far the worst. I waited in line for over 2 hours to get told to go to the fast break line where I waited another hour. I have never seen a company that treats their customers like this. Do not do business with this company. Worst company that I have ever dealt with.

The line for Budget car rental at Charlotte airport on 10/14/2023 at noon (their desk is at the far end of the building). Most people had prepaid so they were unable to switch companies, but since I had only reserved but not yet paid, I ended up renting from a different company. In the 15 minutes I was there, I saw minimal movement in the line.

There were 15 people in line to pick up their car rental's. It took about an hour to get a car. I ended up having to take a small car instead of a full size car as I reserved just to get out of there. The last time I rent from Budget

these guys are terrible! lowest rate but it took an hour to get through the line. after a long flight we just wanted to get on the road but even with the pre check registration we had a long wait. we will never use budget again.

Do NOT rent from Budget! We were issued a car that was NOT the car we prepaid and had NOT been cleaned nor safety checked. Upon turning in the car 3 days earlier than we prepaid we were not provided any refund for those 3 days and no one said a peep about how bad the car was. There is no customer concern with this company, only excess profits at the expense of the customer!!

I recently rented a car in Charlotte, NC for a few days.Very poor experience.Long wait time at the counter to talk to an agent. They had a few agents, but not all of them received customers.When I went to pick up my car, there was a long wait time as well. There was only one agent in the field which was overworked and tried to do her best to help everyone (yet, a second line to stand in....).They didn't have the car I reserved (an SUV), despite endless email "reminders" from Budget in the weeks and days before this rental.Agent had no solution for me except to "wait until we have one", which was totally ridiculous.Budget has an archaic rental system and did not catch up with technology yet.I usually rent from a different company and never experienced such bad service.I will try my best not to rent from them again.

Insane… 30+ people in line. One person working. And very slowly at that. Every other agency is able to deal with their work load except budget/Avis… absolutely horrible. Easily 1-2 hour wait to just get your car.Do better. You have all the reservations before hand. You know how busy you will be. This can easily be improved by hiring one extra person.

Luckily, I didn't have to wait long in the que, just 3-4 people ahead. Booking was done within minutes, and off I go. While returning the rental car, it took literally 30 seconds, awesome job.There are 100's of cars available at any time, so don't worry. There are quite a few rental companies to take care of your specific needs.Book in advance, that might give you discounted rates.
