I would give this ZERO stars if I could. We showed up for a reservation, no one was there, sign on door said open, no one would answer their phone, we saw no van in the parking lot (what we were renting), then asked some guy cleaning outside and he said there was an emergency and he had to leave and would be back in an hour or so. No one reached out to us, no note on the door, no one to answer phones. We had to get our rental transferred and drive even farther out of our way to pick it up and now we are going to be late. Unreliable. I should have read all the r other bad reviews first.

We prepaid for this rental car. Arrived at desk & line is past Enterprise. There are only 2 ppl working Avis. This is ridiculous. We will go hertz or nearly anyone else next time we rent a car. A higher price is worth not waiting in a huge line!!! The one serpentines as you get closer. So it'll probably take 30-50 minutes to get thru it. Pathetic. Don't do a car rental from Avis at Charlotte Airport.

I have been coming to this location for almost a year and I must say the staff is very helpful and works with you. Leo and Patrice have helped me from day one have a smooth transition with my move in Charlotte. They always accommodate me and are willing to help me if any issues arises. I pass several locations just to come to this one due to the customer service I receive. Would recommend this location 10/10.

Worst experience ever renting a car. The car I reserved was rented out and I was offered a pickup truck which I didn't want. I finally was given a dirty Jeep compass that wreeked of cigarette smoke and a tire that had a slow leak. I had to keep filing up the tire with air until I was finally able to exchange it at tge Atlanta Airport. I am in the process of trying to receive compensation for my time as I should not have to pay for Fridays rental. The airport is the best place to rent a car even if it cost more.

I wish I could give a zero! I made the mistake of booking in Charlotte at a downtown location when I really wanted the airport. When I asked the gate agent to help me at the airport to make the switch, he could not have been happier to tell me that he couldn’t switch the reservation! Why would I want to do that when the taxes at the airport were 33 percent, and I’d better call the other location to make sure they even had a car! When I asked did he have a phone number he said no and scooted me out of line and said next to the person behind me! No help whatsoever!

The customer service at this location is outstanding! I called to alert that I would be running late and I was greeted with a courteous and professional voice on the other end. When I arrived, I experienced the same warm and friendly customer service from the gentleman that answered the phone and the young lady that checked me out. Within the time of my rental I had a minor issue with the vehicle tire but the manager took care of it. Typically, I fly out on my business trips, but the frequent airline delays has pushed me to renting vehicles as an alternate option. I will DEFINITELY return to this location to rent a vehicle for my next trip. 5 stars!

Patrice made this experience so easy. They were out of cars but she called me the second one came in. She was friendly, helpful and an all around great representative. She deserves five stars+ this is based on a Rental July 13th.

A bait and switch disaster...I reserved a one way rental online directly through Budget's website and upon picking the vehicle up at this location was told "We don't do one way rentals of cars here". It's not easy to pivot elsewhere when you are leaving town early the next morning, its Sunday afternoon, and most other rental agencies are closed. I only vehicle i was offered was small SUV and took it. The car was extremely dirty, had major road noise, a bad tire, and significant vibrations out of the front end to the point it felt dangerous to drive over 60mph. Despite calling Budget's 800 number and being offered an exchange NO Budget location was willing to make the exchange since they were not "corporate" locations. Over the course of four days on the road, we were told again and again "there are no cars available at this time" in all of Knoxville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, etc. I'm fairly certain the only reason i was offered this car was to offload the problem on some other office once i left the Charlotte location. i will NEVER rent from here again. BEWARE

I reserved a moving truck with plenty of time in advance. We arrived the day of only for them to tell us that they lost the key to the truck. We waited 2.5 hours (with all of our family and friends waiting to help us) for them to not be able to find it. We reserved a 16 foot truck with a ramp and a dolly and instead finally were given a 12 foot with no ramp and no dolly, resulting in more trips, more pain in moving, and significantly more stress.After that disaster, I called the next day to close out the account and attempt to advocate for myself and negotiate the pricing since we didn't get what we paid for. I was told that they were too busy to handle the matter and to call back the next day. I did, and got the same response, but that they would call me and get it taken care of. Now, two weeks later (4/11/23) I haven't heard from them still. I suspect they're hoping that I forget so they can just keep my deposit money.

I was weary of the low ratings I saw all across the city for this company but I still gave it a chance.I went into the South Blvd location to get basic information on how to rent. The gentlemen about 40-55 about 5’11” with black longish hair to his ears, with beige skin complexion, answered my questions and wasn’t really friendly but I attributed it to maybe he had a long day. I told him I’d come back the next day to rent and go through with the confirmation.The next day I came in to find out what the deposit would be and said hello and he just kind of looked at me. So I said “Remember I said I’d come back” he just replies deadpan “Can I help you with something” I asked what the deposit info was and he pointed to signs and said read those all the info is there.Finally from his coldness, I went next door to Enterprise to happily pay nearly twice the rental amount ($65) and $50 more for a deposit for quality customer service and a welcoming environment.If any manager does not believe this review, ask an employee from another location to do a secret shop with this particular employee and I promise you will see. Hopefully it can be addressed because I think it’s a cultural region thing and not malicious intent.

Awful service. I rented a car and when I went to the office they didn't have anything. On top of that the answer was that is not their fault and they couldn't tell me for sure when they were going to get a car for me. Really bad and rude customer service

I was 45 minutes late so I called customer service to notify them and they said I had till 6:00pm to pick it up... When I got to the counter the dude berates me and said I should of called him directly and I am lucky there was a car available and Charlotte NC doesn't hold cars for arriving late. I did end up getting a rental but not the one I reserved 2 months ago. Never again. Do better.

Great location on South Blvd. with professional service; owner went above and beyond to make sure a mini-van was ready for us despite the crazy busy rush of furniture mart in Charlotte. Much more convenient than the airport for pick-up; will use again.

I would not recommend Budget Rental Car on S.Blvd I made reservations on Tuesday to pick up the rental Thursday when I went to pick up the car no one knew what I was talking about I was real upset because I was going to a life long friend funeral in Florida. I had to miss his funeral due to an error on Budget Rental xar and all she could say was "I am Sorry "
