Belk Builders installed new windows in our home. I had looked for a contractor to help with this project for about a year before finding Belk. Kent was always reachable and responsive if any issues came up. We were very pleased with how our project turned out and would use Belk Builders again in the future.

Kent and his team were highly professional, collaborative throughout the process and not overbearing from a sales perspective. Financially, we found their proposal to be very fairly priced versus competitors. The Belk Builder team paid great attention to detail throughout the process of residing and re-trimming our house with Hardieboard, and we found the end-result to be high quality. The project was completed to our satisfaction within the project timeframe. We highly recommend Belk Builders.

Belk Builders replaced the siding and gutters on our 37 year old house. We found them by way of the James Hardie product website because we wanted hardieplank siding installed. Kent came out and gave us a clear estimate of the cost and scope of work. There were no hidden or add on charges later. The installation team was fantastic! Claudio, the project manager, was easily accessible each day of the job and very informative of the progress they were making. He answered all our questions along the way with clear explanations. The work was done with excellence to the most minor of details. They did a great job all the way around, down to the clean up afterward. We will definitely use them again.

We used Belk Builders for siding and painting almost 4 years ago. I was just providing an update. Their pricing, customer service, the sales process, project planning. integrity, craftsmanship, clean up, follow up- every step of the way was a seamless experience. I highly recommend and would use them again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for helping improve the look of our home. It still looks great many years later!

I hired Kent to install over 200 windows at my property in Lexington and the installation was upwards of $178,000 in March of 2021. I never waste my time with making a bad review because I am extremely busy and productive, however my experience with Kent was about as bad as a relationship could be.
1) About two months after the windows were installed, tenants started to complain that the window sashes were falling out of the frame and others could not lock their windows. Kent blamed that it was a manufacturer issue.
After I got the manufacturers rep out to the site, Kent could not be bothered to arrange this, the rep explained that it was an installation issue. I then proceeded to get two industry professionals to observe the issue and everyone confirmed that the windows were not installed properly - shimming had not been installed which was causing the windows to not close and to fall out entirely. This entire process took four months. Ken was owed 5% of the job and I told him that until this was resolved, he could not expect to paid in full. He demanded payment, put a lien on the property and threatened to call environmental protection because of the possible lead paint at the property. **This is NOT an exaggeration or a fabrication**. I have been in the construction industry for over 30 years and never have I been threatened or have had a warrantee issue with my vendors. Kent was always paid quickly and on time!!
2) I then proceeded to have the lead paint tested and it was in fact lead free, as the abatement was done when the building was renovated in 1989. Nevertheless, I paid Kent after he signed an affidavit stating he would honor his warrantee. Of course, given his outstanding character ethic, he did not fix anything.
3) I hired a professional window company in Winston that fixed the shimming issue and other issues preventing the windows from locking. This cost me approximately $10,000 to get done. I will eventually get my attorney to sue him as I have emails of ll his threats and non compliance with his warrantee.
4) 90% of the windows arrived on time, but the remaining 10% took approximately 3 additional months to arrive which delayed the units from being filled.
I guess you have to ask yourself if you want to give your hard earned money to a guy that operates his business on threats, poor workmanship and unable to keep to his warrantee.

In response to Kent's response: Retaliation is being misinterpreted as I am stating facts as they really were. His diagnosis of the problem was inaccurate based on three other window professionals opinions, including the manufacturers representative. This is a fact, as after the proper shimming was installed, the windows now operate and lock correctly.

Kent Frerichs of Belk was generous enough to educate me on a Certainteed product & installation failure for my home a good 2.5 hours away from his service area in the WNC mountains. He didn't hesitate to answer my questions and act as a subject matter expert when it came to my siding failing to the point of falling off our million dollar mountain home. He is clearly knowledgeable, friendly and well spoken- and he saved me many extra steps in pursuit of a solution for our home. Thank you Kent!

I accepted a proposal from *************************, from **** Builders to complete replacement of windows and doors, install vinyl siding, re-screening of porch and paint remaining trim on 12-13-2022.I am satisfied with the completed work excepting the installation of the vinyl siding and a few areas that need to be finished and painted. I had continually expressed my concerns regarding the siding installation throughout the process. Multiple third parties have reviewed the quality of the installed siding and have commented on the poor quality of the job.On 05.09.2023, I paid the final of three payments agreed upon pending the installation of a custom rear door, which was completed on this date. The entire billed amount has been paid.Also on 05.09.23, I contacted *************************, via text message, regarding the issues with the vinyl siding installation, including: Loose and unsecured siding, Installation of broken pieces surrounding windows, and described my discontent with the overall quality of the installation.**** responded to my text on that date, Yes sir. I will get it taken care of. Thank you.Since this date, and communication, **** has failed to respond to multiple phone messages, text messages and emails.I am very disappointed in both the quality of the vinyl siding installation and the lack of response from ************************* and **** Builders.

They installed roof, gutters, windows, door and siding.Modern farmhouse was the style I was shooting for and it came out perfectly, totally transforming a shabby post war mill house into the shining star on the block!All work was done professionally and timely.
