We had a great experience working with Cassidy to set up a courtesy block for our son’s wedding. She was so helpful and answered all my questions. The guests loved the rooms and the convenience of being in uptown Charlotte. I definitely recommend Aloft for your wedding guests or if you are traveling.

Walked in… walked back out. Knew the minute I hit the elevators something felt off. Extremely hot hallways, random signs taped all over the room. Floor AC units that have to be controlled from the unit. Holes poorly patched, terrible smell. Tried to chat with the front desk but by the time my corporate travel agent booked me a new room somewhere better I still had no response. Front desk staff were good and understanding when I cancelled but that was the highlight.
Shockingly low quality and standards for a Marriott property. Won’t be booking any Alofts again after that.

Exactly what you are paying for. Parking was very easy to figure out and clearly explained on an automated email the day before check in. Street level entrance was easily found (On S College) and entrance from parking deck is hard to miss. Valet parking was a breeze and attendants were very kind. Front desk was great and friendly. Rooms were as expected for the price you are paying. Zero noise from the street when in the room. Dollar for dollar, this is one of the better deals in downtown CLT.

Lots of nicks and dings in the furniture - even on the pictures.
Bathroom had only one towel hook and no stopper for the sink.
They have a convoluted system for breakfast: pick up a slip at the order window, bring it to the front desk to pay, go back to the window to leave the slip. They lost ours and had to dig through the pile to find it.
Valet parking was difficult to find in the parking garage. When I mentioned that on checking in, the desk clerk said, “Yeah, we get that a lot.” And then she shrugged her shoulders.

I have stayed at Alofts before (I.e. Chicago) and didn’t hold up to the standards that I am used to. The place smelled of weed the entire time, dirty, seedy and loud. I would not recommend this place and thankfully we only stayed for one night. Beware - it’s awful and honestly I should request a refund or at least have my valet reimbursed! Disappointed!

The building isn't maintained well. The staff seemed overworked.

Rooms was clean and tidy in a good location. Only issue would be there was a bit of a rush one day with people checking in and only one guy on the desk ( but he kept the que moving quickly), but other than that all good.

Avoid this hotel and the ignorant manager. It's like an escape room just to find the entrance. Nothing shows you what to do. Locked doors. Elevator with no signage because all of the homeless who live in the elevator and elevator lobby pull them down. Took me time to figure out where the lobby is and when I suggested they make permanent signage (not a piece of paper) the manager said "it's there you ain't s lissenin" other business partners moved to another hotel and said avoid its ghetto homeless haven but I said meh. The rooms are ok, but wading thru the homeless zombies and taking an elevator to take another elevator just to get to your room (and 1 elevator never worked) STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. photos attached of the main entrance with a locked door (not the entrance) and the elevator with no hit as to what floor. AVOID

This place is nightmare it is buried inside a large city complex with very poor signage, no canopy to be dropped off under, and we had to call to even find out the lobby is on the 5th floor. There are no signs in the elevator and it’s cluttered and messy. Hallways are warm and un-airconditioned. Keyless check in system not working. Problem after problem. Avoid, especially for business travel.

I was not impressed with the aloft branded hotels. The entrance from the street smelled foul. They had fans blowing but didn help. Only one elevator worked to go to the lobby on the 5th floor to then go to another elevator to your room. Found stains in the sheets and towels. When you open your door to your room it opens up to vanity area with no privacy. I felt dirty staying here. Actually ended up checking g out on Wednesday instead of Saturday even. The staff is friendly at the front desk!
Rooms: Could not get the room to cool under 75 degrees.
Walkability: Close to some shopping and food options within walking distance.

Website wasn't cooperating to make a reservation for my wife so I called and placed the reservation on the phone. All of my information was taken including ccv of my credit card. When my wife arrives, the front desk states they need a credit card authorization form completed. Since all of the reservation confirmation information was already emailed to me when I booked, I didn't expect her to need my credit card.
They email me a Word document that is void of all customer information from a gmail account (seemed to be made to look official but very much personal gmail, image posted, it went to spam when none of the other hotel confirmation went to spam) instead of the company account. It all seemed incredibly suspicious on top of being inconvenient for the customer. They had to charge our debit card because I was not willing to fill in all of our confirmation number/guest info and scan both sides of credit card and license (none of which was mentioned from original booking over the phone) and all from a seemingly personal email address (when all other communication was from @marriott.com addresses). Will not stay there again, frustratingly unprofessional.

Nice hotel concept in a central location, but the service at the hotel is sub-par. Firstly, there are two separate lifts to gain access to the guest rooms, which is slightly inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. However, the front desk staff were frequently rude or unprofessional. This started from the check-in, when the staff checked me into the wrong room and only discovered this after running my card. No problem, everybody makes mistakes. She then proceeded to check me into my own room, issued me a new room number, and re-ran my card. But unfortunately, the room they first checked me into still had my card on file for incidentals, and I was charged around $65 to a room that I had never occupied. Staff were unhelpful when I called to tell them about this issue and told me to file a report with my credit card company, which was denied. I believe this is their way of holding onto money.
This issue aside, the rooms are nice and the garage is directly underneath the building. But I really cannot get past the unprofessional staff. Do yourself a favor and look at other hotels in the area first.

Very dirty, and dingy. Breakfast is a joke. Can certainly find a better place to stay for the price...
