This clinic misrepresented their services and took advantage of a situation that put my pet at risk. We scheduled an appointment for a Guinea Pig with a likely infection. They stated they could accept her and scheduled us almost a week out. After the examination, we were told that she needed antibiotics and surgery (obviously) and that they couldn't provide either. The next available appointment at a reputable vet will not be available for two weeks at which point she will likely be dead. They were aware that she had symptoms that were either an abscess or an impacted tooth. They knew that they didn't have the facilities or supplies to address either of those issues. They accepted the appointment anyway wasting almost a week that could have been used to find an actual exotic vet and then essentially told us to thank them when they gave us a 50% discount for essentially looking at her and going "yep that's a guinea pig". No referral was made for a location to get the necessary medication.Take note from Jo Eubanks's post where she describes her dog dying of a preventable illness in their parking lot. In our experience, they show no indication that they care about your pet and will willingly take advantage of a situation to make a quick buck.

I've never left a negative review of anyone, but this is VERY important for pet parents. I'm bicoastal, and VCA legion is (now was) my dog's NC vet, and has been his whole life. While out on the west coast, his home vet there said he needed to have his kidney levels checked as soon as I got home to NC. VCA legion refused to do so and made me go through almost two months of hoops before they would. They finally agreed to have his levels checked this Saturday. He died Monday morning in the VCA parking lot. Of kidney failure, which could have been prevented.I was in the parking lot desperately screaming and crying for help as he died in my arms at 7am, while the techs sat in their cars watching because technically they were just about to open. Two techs ignored me and walked into the building casually, but one was very compassionate and offered to check for a pulse. After he died.If you think of your pet as more than an animal, please save their life by going elsewhere. I will never, ever forgive myself for waiting for VCA and not going to another vet. It cost me my little guy's life.

This is a really great vet's office. The facilities are clean. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The vets and vet techs are very easy to talk to and provide great veterinary care. They are very kind and gentle with animals. When you need it, they give you good pamphlets and printouts of information. All of the office administration work is handled very smoothly and effectively. I appreciate that you can text with them to make appointments and ask questions. Overall, they do a really great job taking care of my animals.

Top tier place. Great communication, excellent continuity of care. When the stakes are high, these are the people you want taking care of your babies.

Only ever had positive experiences here. Also love seeing a Fear Free vet in the area. Techs are so good with nervous and excited animals, and the vets are wonderful. I feel very confident that my dog is safe with VCA.

Absolutely amazing Dr’s & staff, I recently had a dental performed and all of the staff were fantastic, (they always are) they kept me up to date, clearly explaining throughout the hours long process what was happening & how my dog was doing. They are caring, compassionate and genuinely care about your pets & your pets health… and they did an absolute amazing job on her teeth!! :-)I would highly recommend VCA Legion Road to anyone looking for a great Vet!Thank you for taking such great care of Lucy!!

Although Drs Ewert and Miller are wonderful providers, I would not recommend VCA to anyone who does not appreciate miscommunication, charges for services not warranted, and employees who do not respond/get back to you. Both my puppies were prescribed medication for an ear infection for 10 days. I was instructed to request additional medication if I would run out of ear drops before the course was completed. Five days into treatment I reached out for more medication, and I received a response that they would not give me more medication without a recheck exam. When I tried to explain that they are to have their recheck after completing treatment and I need more medication to do this, they never got back to me. Disappointing.

When we moved to the area, it was impossible to find a vet with an opening for our puppy. VCA Legion Road was the only practice that had an opening. As I did not have an option, I went with them.We could not have been more fortunate - I don't think we could have found a better group if we tried. The vet assistants and staff are wonderful. The vets themselves are incredible. Their collective love for animals, and care for their health, is evident. You'd be hard pressed to find a better office - if they have availability, stop by!

AVOID THIS PLACE. I was a customer here for 17 years. From 2005 - 2022. They cost an average of about 50% more than other local vets in the area for the exact same services and try to squeeze every last penny they can from their customers. I continued to go for so many years despite the cost because I could afford it and didn't want the hassle of changing vets. I first discovered the price discrepancies when I started having to see various specialists for my dog. THE SPECIALISTS WERE CHEAPER THAN THE GENERAL VETERINARY SERVICES AT LEGION ROAD. Amazed, I called around to other local vets to inquire about their prices and sure enough, they were approximately 50% cheaper for everything I asked about. Also, in the last couple years, the front staff have become incredibly rude and the vets rush through exams, visibly irritated to answer any questions. This includes the medical director, Dr. Walters. The final straw, however, is that they are now REQUIRING NEW APPOINTMENTS just to obtain flea and tick medication. Another example of how they try to squeeze every last penny they can from their customers. My last appointment was on 7-7-21. I tried to obtain flea/tick meds on 7-6-22 and was told that it had been just over 365 calendar days since the visit and I would need to pay $100 for an exam in order to obtain a $25 flea/tick treatment with no exceptions. I honestly thought it was a mistake, but after talking to multiple people, it was confirmed to be true. THIS HAS NEVER COME UP IN 17 YEARS so it is clearly a new policy. Yet another attempt to extort as much money as possible from their customers. If you care at all about customer service from the staff, help from the veterinarians, or not being gouged for as much money as possible, then please AVOID VCA LEGION ROAD ANIMAL HOSPITAL.

The staff at VCA Legion Road are absolutely phenomenal! Dr. Ewart has been seeing my dog for a while now and I have no plans to go anywhere else. He listens to my concerns and addresses them, and is gentle and patient with my dog who doesn't tend to like men. Their prices are fair and the CareClub is absolutely worth it!

The staff here are always SO sweet and patient with my dog. He is a rescue and is afraid of most people including the vet. I have seen both Doctor Ewart and Dr Walters and they are both amazing. Everyone here is willing to work with me and Gouda boy to give him good health care that doesn't further traumatized him.We have been to an emergency vet who sent Gouda home without examining him because he "was to difficult." VCA Legion Rd has never failed to provide excellent care to both of us.
