Probably one of the worst USPS offices in NC. Also their passport office was closed. The staff retired or something, yet you can still make a passport appointment online. Just terrible place.

Only one person was working with customers this morning on cold Saturday January 20, 2024 and he was great. Very efficient and professional. Thank you for great work you’re doing!

I had to take time off from work and my Daughter for passport renewal with a scheduled appt. We see a note on the door "out today". I checked with folks there and I was told someone should have called us about cancellation but we didn't get any calls. Neither there was any email. Lesson learned, we should have called to check before heading out.

Staff is always nice & polite! Their staffing situation is ridiculous! People walking out, often. So many times, only one person working! Fix your staffing situation, or close your doors. It may be just poor pay?? I truly feel bad for the staff always having to pick up the slack!

I came in during a very busy holiday time and found the staff to be so kind. All the lanes were open and several managers walked around to make sure that anyone who only had to drop off knew that they could bypass the line. They kept saying they were so sorry for the long lines, even though it wasn’t their fault. I found it to be such a nice post office experience! It seems like most of the bad reviews on here are related to passports. I’ve only done shipping-related things here and it went well.

Went there to find 20 people in line which is expected this time of year but only one person was working on the line. Not sure what they expect out of one employee but maybe hire some help so they aren’t overloaded and the customers don’t have to wait in line for an hour to mail a package. Smaller towns have at least 2-4 employees so why is Chapel Hill running with one employee?

Two of us were waiting in line for passports. No one contacted us to tell us they canceled all appointments that day. Nice way to waste an hour driving.

This USPS gets a lot of business whenever I visit. There seem to be staffing shortages but the staff out front have always done their best for me.My recommendation would always be to get your packages in order online / printing package slips before coming here. They have a nearby kiosk where I have dropped off packages for the past three years (I sell things on eBay) and I have never run into any problems with package delivery.I encountered a problem when my mail box keys broke and it took about a month and a half to replace. That was annoying because the issue was they did not have a lock smith on staff. But the front desk staff were nice and gave me suggestions on holding my mail until they got it fixed. Shout out to Kana and Gary who were super responsive to my concerns and helped get my mail box key replaced just today.

This is my go-to location and I've always had a great experience! Employees are friendly, efficient, and super patient and knowledgeable. I had to ship a package today and was helped by Kris and Shamekia (hopefully I read their nametags correctly), they were both super awesome!!It does get pretty busy here, but the employees do their best to get through the line quickly :)

We had a passport appointment for our Son at 9 AM. My wife and I both took off work to come with him. No one was at the passport door. Turns out the staff emailed a cancellation after 6 PM the night before our appointment. We were one of several disappointed families who were unable to get our passports that day.

We have a confirmed passport appointment and came in on time BUT was told I could have received an email or a phone call about them not processing renewal of passport anymore BUT I never received any of those communications from them. We came in prepared with all documents and pulled my kids from school and arrived to this … so so frustrated .

I had another exceptional experience at this post office. I arrived just as the doors were about to be locked for the evening. Ms. Cooper went to some trouble to ensure that I could send my package and letter and wouldn't have to come back another day. I really appreciate the professionalism and dedication of Ms. Cooper and the team and value the important work they do.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I ordered something through eBay, turned on tracking notifications because I had a terrible experience with USPS literally 2 weeks prior in which they pretty much failed to deliver a package, with the notification saying I had moved (??) and left no address. This package said delivered but was not at my mailbox or at my door, with me going out to check literally within 4 minutes of the delivery notification. When I called the woman tried to argue that it had to be in my mailbox given the delivery notification and weight of the package, despite the fact I have like a 4-inch apartment mailbox and this was a 14-inch stiff canvas totebag. They essentially refused to give me any other advice or help, pretty much suggesting it had potentially been stolen from my door since their protocol states that items that can't fit in the mailbox (which this clearly couldn't), needed to be delivered to the door (which it absolutely wasn't, since I was home at the time). They then closed the claim and sent me an email saying sorry and offering for me to submit a claim, but following it up by saying that it probably wouldn't go through as the package said it was delivered and the item had been scanned. I felt very dismissed through the entire claim, as it seemed despite it not being a package that was signed for/no photographic proof of delivery provided since the courier marked it delivered, nothing else could be done. Honestly will never order anything through USPS again while I live here if I can help it.

If you want to sell your soul work for this particular post office. My boyfriend worked here for over a year driving 2 hours for work everyday being made to take a 2-hourbreakAt 3 a.m. he was driving to work not getting home until late had an absolutely insane schedule. Finally he was able to put in a transfer to an office near our house and he's been working there for close to 5 or 6 months now, somehow this location has requested him back thinking that he's going to come back to Satan's den. This office location will suck the souls out of its employees.
