Henry did an excellent job with our wedding last year. University Florist was one of our favorite vendors to work with: accommodating of our budget, friendly, and gorgeous results. We’re so grateful we found them and went with them for our big day!

Henry is an artist. Flower arrangements are such a crucial, mood-establishing element of any wedding and my husband and I find typical displays to be technically beautiful but a little uninspiring. We have always admired the combined talent and playfulness of the University Florist team and were so excited to have them be a part of our special day.
After giving a little color direction, Henry got to work and we absolutely loved what he came up with: fresh, full arrangements bursting with color, texture, and visual interest. Each was packed neatly and carefully, with extra attention paid to details like bouquet and boutonnière wrapping, coordinating color elements, and making sure everything necessary was provided for safe and easy transport.
Cannot recommend this team more!

This is probably one of the best florists I have ever been to. I am treated wonderfully when I come in, and when I walk out, I leave with something magnificent. As long as I live in this area, I will always use them. Thank you!!

My friend's 70th birthday flower arrangement was beautiful. She had sent me photos of beautiful flowers, and she also thanked me over and over. Thank you, Amanda !

I got some flowers for my mother who was staying in UNC Medical Center. They had to prepare my arrangement, but they worked with me on color and my price range, which was very considerate. Everything was done in 5-10 minutes and I was on my way. Good exception of the work, friendly staff.

University Florist always knows just what to do -- they make exquisite arrangements, always appropriate to the season. They are creative, courteous, prompt, and pleasant. I have loved University Florist for many years, for every occasion. Thank you, House family!

Amazing service! I had forgotten the date my mom would return from vacation and in a quick effort to look like a attentive daughter I found University Florist on Google and put in an order (selected "Home" - a seasonal variety from local farms) at 8AM and they were delivered within 2 hours. Mom loved them and requested I keep this vendor for future gifts for her. I will.

I rarely ever leave reviews but this place sets the standard on all levels. My new go to place for incredibly beautiful and fresh flower arrangements and their impeccable customer service is top notch. What a gem in Chapel Hill!

For my wife's Valentine's Day flowers this year (2023), I ordered online and had delivered early a "Chef's Choice" arrangement from University Florist, an independent local florist in Chapel Hill. The flowers are beautiful and my wife loves them. The ordering and delivery experience was easy. I give this place five stars. Highly recommend it. I found University Florist on Yelp after doing a search for "Flowers & Gifts Delivery" in Chapel Hill: University Florist popped up as the #4 "best" result. The reviews, pictures, and the business' website looked good, so I went ahead with University Florist. On the front end, I loved how quick and easy it was to navigate University Florist's site and order. I shopped "From the Fridge" and chose Chef's Choice. With Chef's Choice, all I had to do was choose a size. I let the experts decide which flowers to use to "serve up a super fresh slice." The sizes ranged from Small ($65) to Super Duper ($225). I went with Medium ($95). After shipping ($12.50) and taxes ($8.05), my total worked out to $115.55. Other shopping options included "From the Ground," which did not look as lush and eye-popping (understandable given the winter season) and "Valentine's Day 2023." The "From the Fridge" options weren't available February 10-15, 2023. The Valentine's flowers were available starting February 10. The simplicity of University Florist's website is great. I wasn't overwhelmed with choices. It saved me time. I appreciated that. My wife's Chef's Choice arrangement came with roses, tulips, hydrangeas, and other flowers we're not sure the names of. As soon as she first set eyes on them, I heard her repeatedly say, "Wow" and "I love them." She also said, "These might be my favorite of all the flowers you've gotten me." That says a lot because I've gotten her many different types of arrangements over the years. This arrangement from University Florist is outstanding. My wife loves the unique, bold, and colorful combination. She thinks it's creative and, refreshingly, unlike the "generic" arrangements one typically sees (e.g., those advertised on websites). She likes how the roses have different color petals than usual. The arrangement has served to brighten up our living room and they make my wife very happy. She also likes how the card holder is a repurposed stem and not a plastic piece. Eco-friendly. Needless to say, the flowers have done their job! Other things I've heard (or overheard) my wife say about the flowers when she's in the living room: - "So pretty." - "I love it." - "I'm obsessed with the roses and this arrangement. They're beautiful." - "I love the roses and hydrangeas." - "Oh my gosh, the tulips are so beautiful. They smell so good. They changed overnight." - "Oh my gosh, it smells amazing. I can't get over how good it smells!" Christina delivered the flowers to our door at 11:45am on the day that I specified. Christina was very nice. She had to hike up a few flights of stairs too. The flowers arrived in excellent condition. Thank you again, Christina. I ordered the flowers five days in advance. University Florist's brick-and-mortar shop is located in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill, right on Franklin Street near the "major" and popular intersection with Columbia Street (where UNC Tar Heel fans congregate to celebrate big wins). The business has been around since 1946! The current and previous owners, Henry House and his father Charles House, were born and raised in Chapel Hill. This is a true mom-and-pop shop and, unlike other florists, it is not affiliated with national floral wire services like FTD, Teleflora, and 1-800-Flowers.com. Over the years, I've liked to order from different flower shops and review them on Yelp. You can check out my collection here: In recent

Henry went above and beyond for our wedding. The greenery he installed from the bistro lights was dreamy and the bouquets and table arrangements were magical. He worked creatively with the antiques I got for decor. He also did our rehearsal dinner flowers and those were stunning- so many compliments on both. As a bonus, I felt the pricing was very competitive and much better than other quotes I received. Highly recommend University Florist!
