I was making black bean soup and wanted fresh bollilos to go with it. Brought my bag home to find mold in 6 out of 8 breads. So much for a fresh bakery!

I've gotten their paletas twice! I love the strawberry and cream flavor. The store itself has a small bakery with concha's and a ton of dry goods.

went in to get a bag of flour, came home and pulled a cup of flour out and found a weasel in it so i took it back to the store only to be accused of lying because “it didn’t seem like a cup had been pulled out” of the flour. save yourself time and money and take your business elsewhere. i’d rate it zero stars if i could.

The store is kind of messy, but that seems to be par for the course with Hispanic stores around here. What isn’t standard though is all the expired food. Almost everything in the store is past it’s expiration date. Several months to a year past expiration. Be sure you check the date in anything you plan to purchase here.

This is the only place in Chapel Hill where one can find yerba mate at a reasonable price. The guy behind the counter speaks English and Spanish well, and their selection is more grand than you would expect from the window.El solo lugar comparar yerba mate. El selección de las existencias es más grande que como parece por la ventana.

I go there often to send money to Mexico when it's a small amount. I haven't bought groceries there but it's good to know what they have. Speaking Spanish helps but with patience they can understand what you are saying. A few may speak English but I never do when I'm there. Today I found my favorite Trident gum which is no longer sold in the US. The one from Mexico is best! Right now they seem to be in the process of installing a new vegetable display system. When you drive up, the store always looks closed but it isn't. Plus they have a parking lot!

This is a mom and pop Mexican grocery in Chapel Hill, I didn't notice it until at least a year after living here. The produce and fresh (they have butcher)meat prices are far cheaper than Harris Teeter and Food Lion, but the selection is limited. It's a great place to go for Latin American food items such as Plantains and Yuca, before I found this place I used to have to drive to Durham to buy these things. It's also great if you want authentic Mexican items, they even have handmade tortillas I'm not sure how much .English the staff speaks, but it's a great opportunity to practice your Spanish.
