Took our older dog here for ~10 years. No issues, loved the owner (Steph?), all great. Took 5 month old puppy there, during an anxiety phase. He did not do well, and they called to ask me to pick him up (bathed but ungroomed). Said if I took him to a different groomer at a nearby vet (not my vet), and it went successfully, could then bring him back. So I went, paid for a new patient visit at other vet (even though I already had a vet), then had the vet's groomer successfully groom him (by now he was out of the fear phase). Also paid for anti-anxiety medication. Called HotD back to schedule next grooming, as was told (by the same person/manager I had spoken with when I picked him up) that he was not welcome back, and they had told me that at the time, implied I was lying about it when I recounted what they told me, and that I successfully done those things, etc. Wouldn't discuss any further. After I had spent more than $500 taking him to the other vet, getting him groomed, anti-anxiety medication, etc. if they had just said they can't/wont groom him anymore, we would just have found another groomer. And all this was early post-covid, so almost no groomers were accepting new clients. So I'm not sure if the old owner sold the business (she was great!), or what. But, after being a good customer for a decade, they wouldn't work with us at all to try to figure things out. Btw puppy is now 2.5 years, gets groomed every 7 weeks, and does great. Never had another issue. So, in short, I/we do NOT recommend this groomer.

I love using the self serve bath at Hair of the Dog Grooming Studio to wash my dog! They provide everything you need, down to the ear cleaner. They are great at trimming his nails for me too. I highly recommend using their set up to get your fur baby clean. It's nice to not have to bend over to wash them! The staff are all wonderful to deal with.

We have taken our golden for the past several years and been more than totally happy. After a five week wait, we took her again in early December. She was to have a bath, be dried and brushed. We asked them NOT to trim ANYWHERE. When we got her home, her feet and tailed had been trimmed. Her beautiful tail that just reached the ground had been cut straight across. It looks like a paintbrush, not a golden retriever tail. Our disappointment has not subsided. We have friends who we found had a very similar experience. We will never recommend or return to Hair of the Dog.

Spacious area for self dog wash and more then enough allotted time for self service. You get shampoo, towels, and powerful blow dryer for a professional finish.

We absolutely love hair of the dog. They have been so kind over the years and we’re amazingly gentle with our senior dog.We are excited to get started again with them with the addition of our new puppy!

Unreliable and will drop you with no notice, leaving you in the lurch. Most of these reviews are years old and inaccurate. Further, people tell me of reviewing this place and their reviews not appearing. Beware.
