The service was fine. Everybody I talked to was nice and friendly. Very convenient location, but we won’t stay here again if we have to come back. The rooms were gross. Our first room had black mold throughout the bathroom walls and ceiling. Informed the front desk and they were very helpful and moved and upgraded us to a suite. That was nice of them, but it wasn’t very clean either. No noticeable mold in the room, but I wiped down the bathroom counter after getting some water on it and you can see the hand towel in the photo. The king bed mattress was well used and one of the most uncomfortable I’ve had in a hotel. You could feel every spring. If we have to go back for another surgery, we will certainly look for another option. Very disappointed in Marriott.

Alonzo at the front desk checked us in Friday evening. He was back at the front desk in the morning, because another employee couldn’t or didn’t show up. Even though it was a beautiful, sunny November Saturday, and Alonzo had unexpectedly had to work back-to-back shifts, he maintained a positive attitude. Kudos to Alonzo!Tim at breakfast bistro was also helpful, getting my breakfast order started even though I had to go back to the room to get my voucher.Excellent location near Friday Conference Center for catching shuttle to UNC basketball game. Well-thought-out room, with attractive curved sofa, plenty of desk space, mirror on back of closet door, etc. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was one hot choice like a breakfast sandwich or oatmeal, etc., or two cold items, etc. My “eggs your way” was delicious! Eggs over easy, generous amount of bacon, breakfast potatoes, multigrain toast, orange juice. Bacon & potatoes were crisp without being greasy at all — maybe cooked in an air fryer?A great stay! Thank you.Walkability: Near Friday Conference Center, easy to walk to shuttle for UNC basketball game.

The hotel was decent but the rooms were quite nice. The rooms were spacious with a couple of seating options (desk or comfy couch w/ ottoman). The location; across the street from the Friday Center was very convenient.I found that the hotel staff I encountered (front desk and bar) were reluctantly helpful, it was as if I were bothering them by asking for directions, ordering a drink, or trying to purchase an item at the "convenience store".

Stayed for business last week. The guy bartending was so rude, we vowed not to use this hotel again, even though its right across the street from our event. Marriott should be ashamed, as this is not the normal for their brand. Just needed to be said, and we will find another property next event. Rooms were clean, but service in general was either rude (bar) or just not on the level expected at the desk.

Plenty of parking.Right across from the hospital.Close to food and shopping.Close enough to the college.The room was spotless, smelled clean and fresh, the shower had great water pressure, and the towels were a nice size. The ice machine was clean, and the bed was comfortable.Breakfast isn't included.Purchased, avocado toast and a white mocha latte. First time I ever had sundried tomatoes on my avocado toast. Nice touch! Fresh ingredients and tasted wonderful. Needed more avocado, but that's just a personal preference.The mocha latte came out first, perfect. not too sweet and not too hot.The staff is great, friendly, and helpful. They have you sign a "no party" clause when you check-in. This made me giggle, but, is a college town. Go, Pirates? ?Rooms: Clean!Nearby activities: ShoppingWalkability: Hospital across the streetFood & drinks: Not included.

We rented 4 rooms for over-flow from a wedding we were having. Alonzo was fantastic. He's the manager (or at least he should be if he isn't) - and made up for some weaknesses experienced in the marriott renting website. Thank you Alonzo for making the experience a 10+, instead of what could have been my first negative review. Rooms were great. Location is excellent. The whole experience was 10+.

The facility matched what I expected from a Courtyard/Marriott brand and was nicely located close enough to Chapel Hill to be convenient, but just far enough away to avoid the town’s noise, students, etc. Room was furnished as expected. I agree with others that the bed was a little hard, but it didn’t keep me from sleeping. The facility is a little dated, but mostly from a cleaning/maintenance perspective. One elevator was broken, the bathroom sink faucet was covered in hard water accumulation, and the shower head, shower, etc. likely hasn’t been cleaned properly in months.

If you are lucky enough to be greeted by Alonzo, you will be off to a great start. We came in with no reservation and more than a bit disorganized. He answered our questions, addressed our needs and set us back on track for a wonderful stay. Alonzo is the consummate professional who clearly understands the hospitality business.Rooms: Very clean. Smell good too!

This hotel is surrounded by trees, making it feel kind of remote even though it is only 1 mile from campus. It is a great location. Everything was very clean and orderly. There is a small fitness center, a good sized pool, and a whirlpool. The beds are comfortable, but on the firm side. Our room had a couple small maintenance issues. The light over the mirror did not work and the bathroom door would not stay open. The air conditioner kept the room cool but it was very loud and went on and off all night.Rooms: The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. We had two minor maintenance issues. The light over the mirror didn’t work and the bathroom door needed to be propped open. The AC was very loud.Nearby activities: Great restaurants and shops three miles away on Franklin street and around campus.Walkability: This hotel is about two miles from campus. It would be a walk along a busy road, but doable. There is nowhere to walk nearer the hotel.

Beautiful hotel on the outside but not very inviting. The lobby is too big and wide open to even maneuver properly to the front desk. The room they gave us was clean but there was an issue with the draining in the shower. We moved to another room and that room had a big hole in the wall when someone had pushed the table up against it. I had to skip breakfast because the line was so long at the counter. Overall I would stay here again

I checked into a very convenient room on the first floor. I went out to visit friends in downtown Chapel Hill and when I got back, I was unable to unlock the door to my room.I went to the front desk, told the night clerk my problem, and he attached some device to my door to override the lock and let me into my room.He told me the lock on the door had a dead battery. I didn't believe that reason since the LEDs were working even the door would not unlock.Regardless, I had to change to another room the next morning and had the same problem unlocking it.Finally, the 3rd room worked so I repacked all of my things and moved rooms.This Courtyard is in an ideal location for my extended stays in Chapel Hill but now I am leery to try it again.Marriott needs to: 1/ check these new electronic lock systems regularly for operational efficacy (battery, electronics, mechanics, etc) because failure is very annoying for your customers when failure happens and 2/ you have to show your employees how not to be jerks.

Very clean and friendly hotel. I would definitely use this place again. Loved it. The only downside is no complimentary service, i.e. breakfast. But other than that all good.

This hotel is in a great location. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and very quiet during our stay. All the things we enjoy about Courtyard and why it is one of our favorite hotels brands while traveling.

Absolutely no complaints. Room was spotless and staff was very friendly. Parking spots are a tiny bit small but plenty of spaces. Water in the shower is also nice and hot.
