Believe the reviews! Reserved a car online, got a confirmation email, called and asked if the car was ready, customer service said yes. Took a 24 minute uber drive and guess what? No cars! The older gentleman at the desk was friendly and tried to help

I would not recommend this Avis to ANYONE. Save yourself the time and the energy. If I could rate it at -1 stars I would. My husband and I went in to rent a vehicle as we were heading to the beach. The reservation was booked and paid for online. However, when we went to the counter, a customer service rep named Raj said he couldn’t rent to me because I was on a risk match list. Never heard of such a thing and when I called the 1800 number they told me it wasn’t showing on their end. My husband then made a reservation online and tried to pick up but was told “we don’t do same day reservations” HORRIBLE. Then we were told we couldn’t get refunds in store. We were advised to call the 1800 number for further assistance.

I have rented from this particular outlet for many years, including when it was in the Europa hotel. Always professional, always have my reserved car, no issues. This Google feed appears as if someone is angry and is posing as multiple viewers. Much better than the nearby Enterprise.

Hard to explain this office without showing it, but the office is really, really dated, had a single employee and the cars are out in a mall parking lot - you had to do your own walk around. We returned our car after hours and 2 months later they sent us a charge for tire damage (no call, no pictures). It was not a great experience.

If I could give this place -3 stars, I would. The woman at the front was so rude the entire interaction left a horrible taste in my mouth. I paid for the car via a customer service rep on the phone whom said he had called the location and they said they had cars. I made an appt for 5pm & when I arrived the woman was nasty. I specifically rented a Toyota Camry. She offered the gentleman in front of me a Camry. & he declined stating his family would be too big to fit in there since they are going to the beach. At that point she pointed at a sign that basically said if sand was left in the car there would be a $250 fee. He made his transaction and he left. I walked up to the counter, gave her my reservation number and she didn’t even look it up! She looked at me and said “we have no cars” I informed her that someone called from the call center and they said they had cars. She wouldn’t make eye contact and let me know she had a list and I could look at the list and see that my name wasn’t on it. I let her know that the Camry she offered the gentleman in front of me I would take. She told me no. I wouldn’t recommend this location to my cat. I also felt like she acted this way because we were black.TLDR: location refused to give me a rental, woman rude. Don’t rent here. Very racist!!!

Steer clear of this location.I am a longtime Avis customer and business traveler. This location reflects horribly on Avis. This is one of the worst locations for customer service and vehicle condition. The man who says he is the owner at this location is very difficult and used abusive language with my wife and other women renting there.I'd recommend taking the drive to the airport location where customer service and vehicle conditions are much better.

Avoid this place like the plague. The person who runs this location is a scam artist with no customer service skills. I rented a vehicle for one night, to take students from Chapel hill to Durham NC for a baseball game. I somehow got charged for driving over 1000 miles when I returned it the next day. She did not review the mileage or gas contents before she gave the vehicle to me and she decided that she would try to scam us. I have an open claim with AVIS. Do yourself a favor and go to an Enterprise.

We had a reservation and received plenty of reminders. An hour before pickup, I received a call and was told no cars available. I was told to check other locations an hour before pick up. I wish they told me a day or two before.. We had to cancel our travel plan. A reservation is there for a purpose, to plan ahead but this location is clearly to be avoided unless there is a backup plan. I will not book at this location again.

Should have read the reviews first. This place is horrible. Had a car reserved and prepaid. They didn't hold the reservation for longer than 25 minutes. Was told they had no other cars, even though the cars in the parking lot were clearly rentals. 0 stars.

The WORST SERVICE!I put in a reservation month ahead , day before departure..no van ...sorry was all they could say ... absolutely unacceptable! Ruined our plans for vacation....

Stay away from this place. They have no cars. We booked months in advance. Get there to pick Jo the car and was told “we’re waiting on the car to come back take a seat ” as if they didn’t have another car for us to use. Didn’t even apologize. Told me to wait for the car to come back and use it directly after someone else used it. Gross. Missed the first day of my trip because of this place and wasn’t even offered an apology

Emad Abrahim, the agency operator is a man of great empathy and compassion. I was very stressed when I arrived. My car was in the shop, and I reserved a car on line. Mr. Abrahim calmed me down and responded to my request for an upgrade with a nissan altima which was a pretty nice car. I had to extend the rental a couple of times. Then when I returned the car, he was great again. I finally got an UBER through the UBER app and he let me wait in the air conditioning while I fiddled with the App and the UBER showed up (on time).I read some of the prior reviews. Something has changed drastically for the better. Maybe the location. Maybe the people. Just try it. I'm curious to hear of other people's experiences at the new Avis/Budget location.
