I had never had a positive healthcare experience in this area, until I met Rebecca Droberg and the team at WCMC. They go above and beyond.

I made an appointment to get my thyroid checked. When I arrived I asked several questions being that I've never been seen for anything like this before. I was told that the woman who does blood work leaves at 12pm. The time of my appointment was 3pm. I asked the receptionist why she still scheduled me knowing that the phlebotomist wasn't available to which she replied that the doctor has other ways of determining whether or not I had thyroid issues. I then asked her opinion about whether or not it would be worth it to pay $75 (self pay) or if I should just wait to get my bloodwork done. She convinced me to stay. The doctor calls me back, asks a couple of questions, checks my throat, then tells me I need to get bloodwork done. I didn't have $75 just lying around to pay for this visit just to be told I needed to get bloodwork done. I later found out that I in fact didn't' need to pay ANYTHING and that all I had to say was I needed bloodwork done and I would just be charged for the lab work. I left with tears in my eyes and still no answers.

I started going to this practice about 1-1.5 years ago. It is EXCELLENT and the reasons why:Front staff: Anna first person I met walking into my first appointment. Anna is **ALWAYS** helpful, kind, and you can tell very sweet natured. Then Danielle who became part of the front team--equally helpful, kind, and excellent customer service skills. EVERY time I go there I am now met by Anna and Danielle who are always demonstrate professional, highly skilled with customer service or maybe it is both in their nature. I don't know how they do it because it must be tough working in a busy office and yet they do.Nursing staff: Again, excellent experience. They are the first line to take the information as to why I'm there, ask clarifying questions, and warm handoff to the Provider. I always appreciate them sharing my vitals with me and answer questions or will write down question for the Providers.Providers: NEVER and I mean NEVER in all my decades of life, have I met Providers who sit down, listen--I mean really listen to what I'm saying, and then responding. Ask me if I have any other questions. If I say yes, they respond. If I say no, they reiterate the recommendations and highlight the points of the session. The Services: I can get labs, x-ray, and routine health care. So far, all services, with exception of supplements are covered by my insurance. I am fortunate. I loathe taking prescribed medication unless required. I have been for decades a person who researches and consumes supplements. The brands used at this practice I am familiar with the quality and continue to use--all supplementation thus far are short term and effective.I am not from this area and feel fortunate to have found this local practice, with local Providers.FIVE (5) stars for the entire office as well as the staff and services.

From my very first appointment, WCMC made me feel comfortable and at ease. Their compassionate and empathetic demeanor immediately put me at ease, allowing me to openly discuss my health concerns without any judgment. The Dr. listened attentively to my symptoms, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to thoroughly understand my medical history, which made me feel valued as a patient. I am truly grateful to have WCMC as my primary care Dr office. Their professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for patients are evident in every interaction. I highly recommend WCMC to anyone seeking an exceptional primary care experience. It is reassuring to know that I am in such capable hands, and I am confident that WCMC will continue to positively impact the lives of many more patients.

Kaitlyn Hill office is a fantastic thing for everyone and they do labs and she tells me what is wrong with me and she goes down her list of what appointments I had to ask what happened and they are very interested and kind there. They are blessings for us. Love and prayers Rosie and Johnny Newby Swansboro NC

I was bitten by a brown recluse spider. The entire practice was so friendly and helpful over the few weeks that were necessary to treat me. Mrs. Droberg couldn’t have been more caring and sincere.

Rebecca Droberg is quite possibly the best NP I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I'm from the area, so I've certainly seen my share of NP's and doctors around here in my life time. Rebecca's bedside manor is not only compassionate but relatable. Talking to her is like speaking with one of my close girlfriends. She listens to your concerns and addresses them in layman's terms, but she also laughs with you, making the visit more relaxed. Medical appointments are already nerve-wracking, and nothing makes it worse than having a NP or doctor who has no sense of humor. She wasn't taking new patients at the time when I called (I was recommended to her by two close friends) yet she fit me into her schedule anyway. I'm so grateful she did.I haven't had an issue with any of the staff in the office...everyone is kind, courteous, and they really listen to you. Anna, at the front desk, is amazing. What a pleasant, first stop when you walk in the door, being greeted by her! She's the sweetest woman.I'm not sure why anyone would have a bad experience here, and I'm not discrediting anyone stating they did...but I know plenty of people who go to Western Carteret Medical, and not one of them has a bad thing to say about the staff or the way the NPs conduct themselves while doing their jobs. I'd give this place a thousand stars if I could.

My first appointment with WCMC Nov 17, 2022 was a nice experience until I met the NP. The wait time wasn't lengthy & reception staff were pleasant. I had downloaded and printed & filled out the required admission paperwork to save time. The triage nurse took more information. Then came the NP. Her demeanor was pleasant but I feel I was unfairly labeled a "drug seeker" due to the protocol of medications for my disability, which I rarely take, only when needed. She immediately suggested Pain Management...aka The Methadone Clinic! They did call over a month ago but never called back or scheduled an appointment. The staff drew labs ordered by the NP. I had specifically stated I did not want an a1c level drawn, I knew I cheated during Halloween and it would be off but she ordered one anyway.Dec 16th I had the followup. The one of two reasons I'm giving 2 stars is at least the NP admitted my disabilities were "far beyond" her scope of practice to treat. I never asked for treatments, I only wanted my past medical records transferred so I could continue my unscheduled medications and referrals to MD's for treatments and scripts for scheduled meds. She stated I needed to see an endocrinologist, why did she not refer me to one? Instead I was referred to yet more offices with an umbrella MD so the business can operate, but are rarely, if ever in the office. Basically the same as their office. Why didn't she refer me to a real MD? Jacksonville would have been fine but all that was offered were Carteret or Craven counties. My diabetes testing supplies were never addressed. She seemed annoyed when I asked to have my ear checked for infection, said she saw nothing, more than likely due to the fact she had already dismissed me from her care, told me to take Flonase OTC. Why didn't she prescribe the med instead of me having to wait 3 weeks to purchase it? I told her my insurance pays for 90:day supplies plus 1 refill, if I could please have at least that much, she replied "i'll see what I can do". Of course she did not. Giving a disabled person with severe mobility issues which were added to from a severe side effect to statins only 30 days to find a new MD is a slap in the face but she suggested me taking a statin for my cholesterol! I assume she failed to read my chart! But she "enjoyed talking to me" all of less than 15 minutes between the 2 appointments. The only reason for 2 stars is because the receptionist was the only person to show any kindness and compassion. If you're in the market for skin care treatments, this may be the place for you.

I have been going here for a few months and I appreciate everyone that works here. The ladies upfront doing reception work are always super sweet. I don’t have medical insurance and am self pay, and they understand that so if I need to reschedule an appointment until I get funds together they are very understanding and get me rescheduled immediately. I also missed an appointment one time and they were able to get me in later that day without any problems. I have been seeing Kaitlin Hill for my medical concerns and she has been really great at lining me up with the specialists I need to go see and talking with me about my medical concerns. I struggle with bipolar1 and it can get me really worked up sometimes when I have other medical issues coming up, I think she has been able to see how stressed I have been and she was really good at calming me down, and it was much appreciated! I had a referral for an outside appointment that I had skipped, and she called me and explained why it was important I went to it and that they could help me with my problems, she was right, I rescheduled and got the help I needed, this to me showed that she really cared and wanted me to get the help I needed rather than just letting me blow it off and continue on with my issues. The nurses that check my bp and my weight while I wait have always been very polite too, and they take very good notes anytime I mention anything that needs to be relayed. Thank you western carteret medical y’all have been very good to me! -John Allen Q

The doctors and staff were absolutely amazing. We were on vacation and my husband was having severe pain. I called them to see if we could come in. Luckily they had a cancellation and we were able to be seen. It was a very inviting atmosphere and they treated you like family. They were very concerned and wanted to resolve his pain as quickly as possible. The doctor even called the next day to check on him to see how he was doing. Again we were from out of town but yet they treated us like we were regular patients. I definitely would recommend them for anyone. Thanks to all!!
