Friendly staff and great selection of hiking boots for the off season. Found a great pair of boots at a reasonable price. Would come back when in the area.

Great store & experience. Very nice inventory and extremely knowledgeable staff. Mills was a super help in trying to pick out the best hiking boots. Never pushy and had great tips. Definitely recommend and will be back!

My family and I are visiting Cashiers from Florida for the past 2 weeks. We have enjoyed shopping at your store and have spent around $500 there since arriving. On July 1st, I purchased a pair of ON Cloud 5 running shoes and I have worn them three times. I have owned four or five pairs of these shoes in the past (love them). However, the pair from your store is making an audible squeaking sound in both shoes coming from the sole area. Today, 7/7/2023, I returned to your store to see if I could exchange these clearly defective shoes, and to my surprise, I was attended to by an older female associate. She was rude, uninterested in my concerns, and went out of her way to disdainfully repeat “our usual policy is to not accept shoes after leaving the store.” While I respectfully understand your policy, the shoes are clearly defective and could be returned by your establishment much easier to the manufacturer than what your customers will have to go through. Additionally, we just didn’t expect the unusually rude customer service from such a nice establishment. It was disappointing to say the least.

Very helpful staff; we were looking for a specific part - an adapter to blow up large rafts/ boats. They did not have it; so the staff got on the phone, found the part and gave us directions to the other store

Came in looking pretty scruffy after hiking all day and couldnt get the time of day from the staff. Another wealthier customer who had to have shoes that matched his shirt was treated very well. If youre actually someone who hikes go to a store for hikers.

There is nothing I love more than sitting with a good cup of coffee and reflecting on a wonderful guest experience. My husband and I were deep on a hike in the smokiest of mountains, when all of the sudden the inevitable happened. Rain poured from the skies. We thought we were prepared. We had layers on layers, and a protective rain coat. We were wrong. Well half wrong, you see I did have a protective raincoat. My partner, was wearing a windbreaker. HE GOT DRENCHED. As soon as we swam back to the car, we drove into town for a proper rain jacket. It looked like everything was closed until we found the Highland Hiker. The store was bustling, and had all the equipment we could have needed. The staff was so friendly and positively wonderful. It wasn't just "let us know if we can help" it was, "here, let me hold that up front for you" etc... They were engaging and kind and made this silly shopping experience feel like it was meant to be. It was in fact, part of the trip. I also loved that they provide disposable masks for customers, to accompany their request that you wear a mask in store. My only regret is not getting the happy hiker t shirt. This was a missed opportunity.

Normally go here during the winter. Selection was a little limited. If your into high end outdoor apparel and don't mind paying for it they have some very nice clothing. Seems to me like they have gone a little downhill over the past couple of years. Prob due to Covid
