I needed relief badly from a bad left hip. It was an unusual situation because I’d had a hip plate there for 50 years and bone had overgrown it in places. He has to leave part of it. Dr. Ruffalo carefully assessed my situation and took it on. I knew relief was coming. And it did on June 29, 2022. One year later I’m as happy as a cat covering up mess! Couldn’t be more pleased! From pre-op counseling to surgery to post-op follow-up, I’m one HaPpY Boy! On September 2, 2023, I will walk my oldest daughter down the isle “pain free!” No issues at all now. He knew exactly how to do it. Hallelujah Amen! Thank you Dr. Ruffalo!

The absolute worst practice! Over an hour wait in the waiting room for every appointment. And then another 30-45 minutes waiting in an exam room. Dr. Kauk always spent very little time with me and barely explained what I had broken. He didn’t even go talk to my mom after my surgery to let her know how everything went. I now have either strained or sprained my left fingers, knuckles and hand, and it’s quite painful. I called the office today to try and get an appointment with either urgent care or with Dr. Kauk. I left 3 messages on their voicemail setup and no one called me back. Now I don’t know if it truly is just a sprain or something worse, and I’m in a good deal of pain.It’s also ridiculous that you can NEVER talk to an actual human whenever you call the office. They say that they return calls within an hour, but they don’t always return calls. And it is IMPOSSIBLE to get someone on the phone there and they don’t always return your voicemails. I will not continue being a patient at Wake Ortho, I will finish my treatment at Duke Ortho. If you need an orthopedic surgeon, I’d steer clear of Wake Ortho.

Wham bam, no care, no smiles. Felt like I was in a car wash; Next! All supposed doctor offices are like this now tho- wash, rinse, repeat. Nobody is special, every pain is the same, and that’s how I felt when I left.Please be advised for those coming here who have injuries that make walking difficult- there’s a parking garage you have to use. Walking up and down the hills was not easy, as an injured person.

Worse experience ever. The day before my appointment I got a call that my insurance referral wasn't done correctly and did I want to reschedule. Uh, NO! I have to drive an hour and take time off work to go to my appointment. That was settled. Had an appointment at 3:40 pm and google mapped Wakemed Orthopedics". This took me to the Apex location and I was on time just to be told I was supposed to be at the Cary location which is 10 minutes away. I was told it was too late to go to the Cary location and the doctor was leaving. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I drove to the Cary location and was told I couldn't be seen until next week. I said this is completely unacceptable and I can't take off work again. I told the receptionist that I am filing workers compensation and she finally advised I could be seen by urgent care. The doctor took some X-rays and said I need physical therapy and left. The nurse handed me a list of physical therapists and I advised her I live in Sanford. She very flippantly said the therapists are located all over and walked me out of the office. Of course there are no therapists listed anywhere near me. I wish I could give this clinic ZERO stars.

I had both a back surgery and a knee replacement. Both surgeons were outstanding. Skilled, kind, patient, attentive. The outcomes from both surgeries were beyond expectations. I have more mobility and less pain than in the past 20 years.

Dr. Chappell was so warm and welcoming at my new patient visit where we discussed in detail my pending shoulder replacement surgery. He was extremely knowledgeable, and very easy to understand. I was so impressed when he personally contacted me when I had to cancel my follow up appointment to make sure that I was OK and that I hadn’t experienced any further problems with my right shoulder. I would highly recommend Dr. Chappell to anyone in need of an orthopedic provider for shoulder issues.

I went last evening. Greeted and checked in by a sweet young lady. Wait time was about 45 minutes. Nurse was very kind and pleasant. Immediately did an X-ray and saw Ashleigh Knoeferi PA-C. She was very thorough and concerned. I highly recommend this location for orthopedic needs. ❤️

The quality of my surgery and post op physical therapy for my torn knee were outstanding! I was so fortunate to discover the Wake Ortho team. In addition to quality, this team also exudes compassion and open, honest communication. I highly recommend Dr Kauk and team.

Don't go here unless you want to hurt the rest of your life. Dr Ryan Gentry was my doctor if you can call him that. I broke 4 vertebrae"s in my lower back and he did absolutely nothing but therapy with hard any pain medication and I was in Excruciating pain. He should be fired for being a no care doctor. I had two other doctors to tell me they were other things he could have done in the first 4-8 weeks that I would have had a better outcom. Beware of this doctor he is the worst I have ever had and I've seen a lot with my acciden.

Had total hip replacement by Dr. Ruffolo and got along great! He, as well as everyone else I came into contact with were so courteous, knowledgeable and kind it definitely put me at ease and not apprehensive at all about the surgery and and post surgery care.

Dr. Hanson and his staff are AWESOME! From the beginning of getting ready for my total knee replacement to the post opt recovery they have been AWESOME! If you need a total or partial knee replacement I highly recommend Dr. Hanson and his staff!

This is the worst place ever. AVOID. My husband was referred here for a second medical opinion due to a surgery. The clerk just called with a nasty attitude and arrogant on the day of the appointment 45 minutes before, when where we were already on our way (it’s an hour and 20 min. from where we live) to tell us that if we didn’t have any medical records and imaging on hand the Dr. was not seeing him. She went and canceled the appointment without our consent without allowing us to call the main hospital to provide those records. Soooo irresponsible to call the day of the appointment instead of beforehand and on top of that having a nasty attitude. Needless to say when I told her that it was very irresponsible from the clinic to do that she started apologizing and loosing her attitude. Lady, whoever you are, your attitude is disgusting. Learn how to treat people. Unprofessional.

Referral was sent Sept 12; after a month and no appt referring drs office followed up. 2 weeks later had appt with referring Dr, informed him I still had not been contacted by surgeons office. He text one of the drs asking him to look into it. A few days later I was contacted, appt was made at the Cary location. At the appt i was taken to the room by one person who stated Dr may want xrays bf I was seen. I asked why xrays when I've already had an mri. She pulled up the report after I told her where it was done then left out. Another person comes in, I'm assuming a PA asks questions and tests for strength/weakness, views scars from previous surgery, makes notes says he going to check on imaging. A few minutes later another woman comes in says it's gonna take a couple days to get my imaging. I can get my copay back and come again on Monday or if I want I can see Dr Deal today. I asked what happened to my referral she said all she had was a note saying I was a new patient being seen for back pain. I told her I was done and got up and walked out.SO...my private health information has been floating around WakeMed for 2 months and nobody knows anything about it or me. I drove an hour and a half just to get there and never saw Dr Deol. Mind you the folks I did see including the receptionist were all pleasant. BUT I do not appreciate wasting my time and gas bc whoever handles referrals and/or scheduling dropped the ball. I will NOT return to WakeMed and if my referral is ever found they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine!

Dr. Gurvinder Deol has provided me the highest level of care for many years. Dr. Deol, Pam and staff are simply the best, professional, informative, responsive, and listen to my concerns.Dr. Deol is the only surgeon I trust to operate on my spine and help me mange thru my degenerative spine issues. I am very thankful and appreciative for all he has done, allowing me to sustain a high quality of life.
