Jamie was truly a joy to work with! She was a wonderful and professional stylist who gave me a fantastic cut and I’ll definitely be returning as soon as I need another. The salon itself was well designed and comfortable, and the front desk staff were warm and welcoming, offering a drink and making sure I was comfortable! I highly recommend Von Kekel Salon.

I had the stylist Zsoka, for a haircut. Let me just say I have never felt so disrespected at a hair salon before.I asked for curtain bangs and long layers .As soon as I sat down she had a horrible attitude towards me because I was nervous. She proceeded to cut my hair, I asked for half an inch and I saw her cutting more than that, she came back at me with “it’s just hair it will grow back”. The curtain bangs were cut straight across and looked horrible.She had an assistant try to blow out my hair, which was not a blow out. So, I proceeded to let her know I really was not happy with the way my curtain bangs looked. Zsoka came back and yelled “ why would I say that” and I told her I didn’t like the way it was looking . She proceeded to say “ I don’t even want to do this haircut anymore”. At this point in time I told her I didn’t feel comfortable with her touching my hair any longer, and asked for someone else. Liz, came over and fixed my curtain bangs and fixed my hair, which she did an amazing job and was super friendly.

Literally worst experience ever! Terrible service from the managers. I went in to see a trainee and never expected to be left with this! The trainee was wonderful super sweet and kind but had no guidance! I’ve never been brought back for worst results and told I would be responsible for paying for the product. It’s basic highlights and I’m left with mismatched, orange, and non blended hair. I asked for another fix and I was told I would have to come in and pay full price for them to fix my hair! Please do yourself a favor and never go here based off of just the manager being unreasonable and the owners only caring about money!

I had my first haircut today with Jenna and it was the best haircut I’ve had in the area. I am amazed with the level of skill and expertise from a new stylist. I’ve been to many different salons with stylists with many years under their belt and often left disappointed. She listened to what I wanted to achieve and checked with me a few times during the haircut to make sure we were on the same page which I appreciated. I have thick and fine hair which can be quite difficult to work with and she did great. Schedule with her, you won’t look elsewhere.

I had the WORST experience at a salon I’ve ever had in my life at this Von Kekel Aveda Salon Spa. I am still trying to fix my hair from what they messed up in November 2023.The first day I went in, it was for a blonde root touchup on my dark brown roots that were about an inch 1/2 grown out. There were no highlights, it was a straight line, so my thoughts were that it should’ve been pretty straightforward. As soon as I walked in the stylist that was supposed to be doing my hair, let out an extremely exaggerated sigh. And walking over to sit at their station, she seemed extremely aggravated with me off gate. As a person who is not in hair care, though I hadn’t personally made the appointment, I didn’t realize that more than three hours was going to be needed to do what I was there to do. I feel like this is a pretty common mistake, and there should be a little bit of patience with clients. The stylist had absolutely no patience for this, and proceeded to make me feel horrible about not knowing exactly what to book for (again I didn’t even make the appointment). She proceeded to tell me that what I actually wanted was going to take too much time, and acted like she didn’t want to do it. So I thought I was being accommodating whenever I said “I’m sorry for the mistake, I can make another appointment for another day, and book for more time for you.” She then scoffed at me, and said that I wasted three hours of her appointment times. There was no way in hell I was going back to that woman, I could barely be in the same room with that with her after that. Her energy was soul sucking, she was absolutely horrible. Should just genuinely not be working with people.I ended up telling the people at the front desk about it, and another stylist, appalled by the way she had treated me, said that he would fix it up for me if I came in the next day. So I came in the next day, and he was super nice. However, he was very adamant that he knew exactly what I wanted, and that I didn’t need to over explain it to him. I had showed him multiple photos of exactly what I wanted. Explaining in my own words that I wanted it all blonde but not completely to the root so it fades in a bit instead of growing out in a straight line. Something I now understand as being called a “shadow root”. He ended up giving me highlights, which is not at all what I wanted. I left with so much brown in my hair, a straight line on the top of my head, and a more complicated route to get to where I actually want to be.I have never left a salon crying about the way my hair came out let alone because of the way I was treated by a stylist. Two days in a row I cried after leaving the Von Kekel Salon in Fenton. I wanted nothing to do with the place. I’m only finally writing this review now because I’m newly pissed off realizing how much harder the visit made it to get to where I want to be.Just please, I’m begging you.Treat your clients with patience, respect and give them the decency to fully listen and understand what it is they are looking for. We do not do what you do, may not have the exact words from your textbooks to describe what we want, but still deserve the respect of listening and the effort in understanding so that we can collaborate to bring the vision to the table.For $600+ I am so incredibly disappointed in my experience.From what I have gathered, this salon is full of stylists who are very set in their own ways and are only accommodating to their regular clientele.I DO hope this review will deter some people from going to this salon.Do NOT go here if you are looking for a new Salon or a new stylist.I do NOT recommend going here if you are a young person under the age of 30. They will NOT take you seriously or listen to what you have to say no matter how many pictures you have for reference.I would NOT wish the experience that I had at this Von Kekel at Fenton on my worst enemy.

Had a full balayage and haircut with Robert. He was amazing!! This was my first time getting highlights and I had been nervous, but he did a beautiful job with my hair. He added the texture and dimension I wanted and still kept it very natural looking.

Got a massage at the North Hills location and it was great the first visit, so decided to go get my hair cut at the Fenton location. Zaahirah did my hair, overall taking my short hair back to a pixie. Overall the cut was okay and she followed what I was looking for, but nicked me pretty bad on my back hair line (pic below) and left so. much. hair. in my head that she didn’t clean off after cutting it. I had to shake my hair out 3-4 times because it was so messy. Also, overall atmosphere felt stiff and unwelcoming.I liked that they were able to get me in on a tight schedule but due to all above I don’t recommend and won’t go back for another visit.I did send a note to them about this on their IG page to see if they could help but no response.Edit: they sent me an email 3+ days later and didn’t offer any help beyond an adjustment, which my hair is super short anyways (which again, was what I wanted), so why adjust it. Knicks can cause infections, but I guess they don’t understand that… avoid.

I got my hair cut yesterday from the highest level stylist and did not like the result. Since she was the highest level I trusted her with her work and did not question the process. I had asked for bangs and I did mention I wanted short bang but she did not account for my hair’s natural bounce so even though she cut my bang to the eyebrow length when she lets go it bounces up to the middle of my head and one side is higher than the other and it looks like I cut my own bangs, for the level I was told she was as a stylist she should have considered all the following before chopping it off. I did go back the same hour to see if I can suggest some things to fix it and she did try to help me so I appreciate that.

I had a wonderful experience at this new salon location, and it was largely in part due to the amazing color service I received from Zsoka! I first met her at another Cary salon, and am grateful to still be able to have such a skilled professional bringing my blonde hair back to life. Zsoka is very talented, insightful in her consultations, and incredibly talented at her craft. I love my hair - thank you Zsoka and Von Kekel Fenton!Services: Hairstyling

I have fine frizzy hair that I wanted to look smoother so I was suggested to go for a Keratin treatment. Jamie put in close to three hours of work (??) and my hair looked great right after the treatment. I was excited because all I wanted was to let my hair loose & have it look great without much effort. But after the first wash itself my hair still looked like it did before the treatment i.e. with all the frizz, waviness etc. It was shiny and felt healthier but the frizz was still there sans any smoothness/straightness like I’d seen right after the treatment. Jamie looked at it again and suggested I could blow dry it straight after every wash if I wanted a sleeker look. It’s been almost a month since the treatment and honestly I don’t feel like the money I spent on the treatment was worth it because it doesn’t look like it. I still need to spend time on my hair to blow dry and still have the frizziness. I was really hoping all the $$$ I spent would be worth it but I guess Keratin didn’t work for me :(I got a haircut after the treatment too which was good.
