Hoa Nguyen, PA-C is the BEST! I recently moved to this area and needed to find a new PCP. I highly recommend her! Hoa is very kind and takes time to listen to her patients concerns. The office staff is also nice and lab draws were minimally painless.Please note, there are some particular rules this office has in reference to what services can be provided each vist due to billing/insurance purposes. Thankfully, there is often appointment availability to be seen soon if you need it.I look forward to my long-term PCP relationship here at Tricity Family Medicine & Urgent Care!

I am a disabled veteran with various medical issues that are connected to my military service. I went to this clinic for Covid. Normally the service is good, but the young nurse (skinny with black hair) there today (last Tuesday, 13FEB) was abrupt and didn't seem to know what she was doing. I felt overlooked and began to feel uncomfortable during the short time I was there. She rushed me, even though it wasn't lunch time and no one else was in the clinic, she did not tell me my blood pressure or give me any of the information I asked for. Couldn't wait for her to leave the room. I sent a survey to convey my experience. 2 days later my wife went to the clinic and received worse treatment from the same nurse/ medical assistant. She was abrupt, rude and apparently does not know what she is doing. Hopefully she will be removed.

No help and no service. I arrived at 12:20p to be seen for back spasms. Receptionist asked if I had been seen there before and I said no and he proceeds to tell me they were going to lunch in 30 minutes and he could schedule and appointment for me after their lunch. Nice to know lunch is more important than the pain I’m experiencing. I declined and went to another urgent care. My issue wouldn't have impacted their lunch but thanks for absolutely no help.

Visited yesterday for my son, they sent proscription to store but that store was closed. They don’t have proper system to check store is closed or not? Visited personally to change store and asked them to send to particular store with details. When I called today morning got to know they have not changed store.Worst management system. From now on I will be asking printed copy of prescription so that I can visit any pharmacy and get my medication.Urgent care even doesn’t deserve the single star.

Best Urgent Care I've been to. The doctor is very thorough and all staff are kind and polite and the wait time was just a few minutes.

I have been a primary care patient here for a few years now and I am blessed to have found them. For those complaining about having to wait more than ten minutes for an appointment, i guess you haven’t paid attention to healthcare in the U.S. for a while. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Doctors are human too and sometimes run late. It’s a fact of life these days. If you have a doctor that you like, show them some grace, especially when you have a provider you love like Hoa Nguyen. I can’t say enough good things about her. She never treats me like I am just another number. She remembers past conversations that we’ve had in the past so I know she’s always listening and that’s worth a lot. You can be 100% open and honest with her and you will never feel judged. I wish everyone could have someone as good as her as their primary provider. I prefer a small practice like this where they know who you are instead of 20 something providers that i had at a UNC family practice. Hoa Nguyen listened to me tonight when other doctors have blown me off for the past three months and she gave me the help that other cookie cutter practices have not.Is the lab situation there perfect? No. Probably not but I am willing to overlook that due to excellent care I’ve gotten there otherwise. If you have a primary care provider that truly listens to you, the rest of it is easy to deal with. And sometime’s if you don’t get a response back immediately, it doesn’t hurt to be proactive and pick up the phone yourself because you have to be your own best advocate and being shorts staffed sometimes is through no fault of their own.The grass is not always greener elsewhere and i will continue to be a patient here for a very long time. I recommend the practice but especially her. One side note, I have never had any billing issues. Give this practice a try, you won’t regret it.

The only star I’m putting is for Dr. Hoa. The rest I’m not sure about. If my appointment is at 10:30am I expect to be seen at that time and not wait over 30min I’d understand a 10min wait bc things come up and might not be on schedule sometimes, but 35min?? At that point just schedule me for 11:30 instead of having me come early to just sit there. The only reason I’m leaving a bad review is bc office looked empty and I didn’t just walk in. I had a scheduled appointment. Unfortunately I ended up leaving because I had other commitments and hopefully never coming back. Bad management. Wasted my time.

Extremely frustrating management of the doctor office.We are going to this office since 3,4 years and still sticking to it because my husband likes Dr Patel. Lab staffs are highly under trained and poor in communication, may cause you several unnecessary trips.Very unhappy patient. :(

I don't typically leave reviews; however, I felt compelled to leave this given how AWFUL my experience was. Dr. Patel was disrespectful, and dismissive of care concerns. People of color, Black women specifically, if you want your concerns dismissed, and to be laughed at by nurses who clearly peaked in high school, then be my guest. If you would like true care, I would suggest finding a new practice where the physician doesn't leave before closing. If I could give zero stars, I certainly would.

Go somewhere else. Twice my children have been turned away. The last time, we arrived and the staff informed us that we would not be seen as they were leaving for lunch in 10 minutes. The waiting room was entirely empty. This is not the place to go for urgent care.

Your experience here will depend on which doctor you get. Dr. Nguyen is lovely. Dr. Patel on the other hand, is a hard pass. If he were the last doctor on earth and I was in critical condition, I’d say my last prayers and settle in for the long sleep.I came in again because my issue persisted even after my visit with Dr. Nguyen the day before, and Patel was super dismissive of my concerns.If there is fluid in my body where fluid is generally not supposed to be, why would you get annoyed at me for asking questions about an issue I’ve never experienced?At one point, with clear irritation, Patel goes, “you’re questioning our practice.”Well, yes. That’s how medical visits work: when a patient doesn’t understand something, they should ask questions. Dismissive doctors like him are exactly why: 1. Patients don’t trust their doctors, and 2. Medical issues complicate by the time you get a second and third opinion.What is wrong with this man?

Staff here has always been amazing - from our walk in-visits to our check ups with our daughters. We love that our visits are quick and easy, yet informative and helpful.

I've had two VERY mediocre experiences here. Overall, the staff are sorely undertrained, lab results are slow, and no one is competent enough to evaluate medical data. Even the PA or doctors will rush paid visit time, not recall case history, and make illogical suggestions.

Very poor communication service, you cannot reach to doctor if you need to!I had visited this urgent care for my daughter's ear infection 2 weeks ago, and we meet Dr. Hoa Nguyen. She provided the prescription. we did not get prescribed medicine at wallgreens, they said they never received the prescription.We again make another appointment and meet same doctor, she said she sent it. Again she sent another prescription.This time that prescription was not available at store. SO WE TRIED TO REACH TricityNow we have reach the Tricity family yesterday, and they said will talk to Dr and call you back.. !!! NEVER CALLED BACK !!!Today again we reach to the Tricity and explained the situation, they put us on Hold, then !!! HANG UP THE PHONE !!!.Again we call back to the Tricity, they again !!! HANG UP THE PHONE !!!Again we call back then they said "Dr Hoa Nguyen" did not responding, and said will call back you.Very Frustrating experience with Tricity Urgent Care!

I called here to find a fast appointment for a check up. They appointed me the same day. I forgot the doctors name, but she was good and informative. The nurse was very pleasant and made taking my blood easy. Results were supposed to be in from the lab in 3-4 days. They called me within about 48 hours with the results! I’m very happy with the speedy service. I called Duke for an appointment before I called them here and my appointment was far off. Now 2 days later, I’ve gotten my results and cancelled my Duke appointment. What a relief! Especially when you’re anxious.
