Check your paint before you leave here. They gave me base paint that was not tinted and refused to replace it, even though my receipt indicated it should have been a color. Save yourself the trouble and go to the other Cary location.

We had an excellent experience purchasing paint from this location. Angel was not only extremely knowledgeable and patient, but went above and beyond to help us find the best prices possible. We'll definitely return to this location for our paint needs!

A customer of this store on Franklin st since it changed from Shoe show and a copy store in 1982. The best store in the area , and the busiest. Tony, Tyrone, Rod, and Gail, the designer - helps an incredible amount of Realtors and wives and especially guys who need assistance in Chapel Hill & Carrboro NC. They need her for color consultation .

We planned a paint touch up project and went to this store for the same paint. We have never bought paint before; our house is new construction and was painted for us. I told the person working with us that we were entirely new to buying paint, that we need it to match our current paint, and that we have no idea what we are doing and need help. She asked what we needed and I provided the paint names & codes. Asked what type (flat, semi,etc) and I was mostly sure but they seemed annoyed that we didn’t just know what the differences were. I had a coupon from our builder and it didn’t work, and the guy there was accusatory and told me I used it at another store. Not sure why the coupon didn’t work, it was probably just that I’d had it too long, but it wasn’t nice to feel immediately accused like I did something wrong. I tried to explain but I could see he immediately got annoyed so just stopped.Fast forward a couple days later. We have painters at our house. They do all the patchwork, then pop open the can of paint that will do most of our house and surprise- it is a lot darker than what is on our walls. Of course we have no idea what went wrong.I call the Sherwin Williams store and spoke to manager Michael who had answered. He didn’t want to listen to me fully explain, he wanted to correct me very quickly and make it my fault. I asked him to please listen, that we came to his store and asked for help, saying several times that we didn’t know what we were doing, said that we have a new construction home, and no one explained what he was so quick to tell me today- that the builders use a different formula that they can’t make anymore at the store. Instead of listening, or understanding the lack of education from his staff that caused us this issue, he continued to tell me the same info over and over and that I’ll need to paint my whole house.Thankfully the painters we worked with knew what to do. They cut a piece of our existing wall and we took that to Sherwin Williams to color match it.I have no idea why the staff and manager were so deliberately unhelpful but fair warning. If you go here for paint, talk to an expert before going over to buy what you need.**Update to say I called the number the business reply provided and left a message. I got a call back and the person I spoke to was extremely reasonable and understanding. She apologized and allowed us to return the paint that was purchased on bad recommendation that didn’t work for us.
