Good place for annual state inspection. They take walkins which is a plus. However, they charge $30 something which is double from what others charge.
Reply to Owner’s Response:
I have been a loyal customer for years, bringing all my cars—Avalon 2016 (no tint), Lexus 2018 (tinted), and Tesla 2023 Y (tinted)—to your service center in Wake County. I have consistently paid $30.90 for all three vehicles. However, this year, for the first time, I decided to try other reputable auto service providers and was charged half of that amount.
I urge you to review your pricing in comparison to your competitors and the current market rates. I believe other well-regarded auto service providers in Wake County adhere to state pricing guidelines as well.

They need to fix there hours. The girl that works there is very rude no customer service what so ever!!!!. I went at 1:56pm and she told me without even letting me speak we close at 2pm. Taking my business elsewhere.

We’ve had our Lexus and BMW serviced here and were very satisfied. Even saved me money by using an alternative oil in my BMW (manual requires Mobile 1). Said they’d use Mobile 1 if customer provides it, but they don’t use it because of its cost. Fine with me! Only thing I wish they had was a parking lot instead of parking cars on Carpenter Fire Station road.

I had a very good experience here. Extremely honest and actually tried to save me money. I would recommend them to anyone. I will say their parking lot is gravel which is difficult if you are in a wheelchair. Also there was a ton of stuff in front of the key drop so I could not reach it.

5+ STARS HIGHLY RECOMMEND: During a recent trip to North Carolina, I was in a bind as a car seat for my daughter was incorrectly installed and the seatbelt was locked trapping the car seat. Several people, including certified infant car seat installers, tried to resolve with no success. On a whim, I stopped at Firehouse Auto Repair. The owner could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable. He immediately dropped what he was doing to assist after he heard my plight. He tried several techniques until he found the solution. When I went to pay, he said he was happy to help to ensure the safety of my baby and to enjoy our vacation! It's nice to know there are still kind people who value customer service.

I've used this shop on and off for about 5 years now. Cecil and his team have always been straighforward, honest, and cost effective.
Recently I needed the AC system checked and repaired. They did the testing, evacuation and refill of the AC and found a couple of small valves that needed to be replaced. I had pre-approved the work and got a very fair price for their labor and parts. Good work!
For those people who are upset with Cecil and his personality. He is direct, to the point and honest. He may sound gruff but he really is a good guy. Usually very busy trying to please everyone and get them in and out quickly. I can live with that to get an honest mechanic.

I recently had the pleasure of bringing my vehicle to Firehouse Auto Repair for routine maintenance, and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The technicians were prompt in diagnosing the issue, transparent in their communication, and efficient in completing the necessary repairs. A good spot to get the state inspection done in a timely manner. Go early in the morning and reduce the wait times. The waiting area is not that great. But you can get the jobs done easily.

My son was visiting when the variable timing belt started resetting on his GMC vehicle. After contacting a couple of places he talked to Firehouse and let them know he needed to leave on the weekend. We brought in the vehicle on Monday, expecting (hoping) they could finsh it by Saturday. Tuesday they called and pointed out a few more (expected) items that would also need to be fixed. Wednesday they were finished.
The staff was friendly, honest, and quite busy. My son tells me the price was in line with his expectations and there was no attempt at extras.
Overall I am comfortable recommending Firehouse auto. As a side note one of the other local shops my son called said they wouldn't fix the issue, but would just replace the engine.

Had a small mix up with two very similar vehicles, which led to an accidental bill swap.
No matter, as the owner handled it incredibly professionally, was very apologetic, and cut me a check to mend the mistake!
Got the appropriate work done on my car, they were also able to work with me to ensure my vehicle passed inspection :)
Cecil is the GOAT
FYI to new customers: Make sure you call in or schedule in person, bottom line, speak to someone.

I’ve my late model truck in for a few repairs and they are always honest and quick with getting me back on the road.
