I have shopped Dorcas Shop since I was a child and I still enjoy it.

I do love me some Dorcas. However, in my last THREE visits, I had ACCIDENTALLY picked up unpriced items. I took the item with me to the register and was told “no way”, “no how” can we tag that. One employee even GUARANTEED me that it would be priced the next day and available for purchase. GUESS WHAT? When I arrived the next day at opening, the sign was no where to be found. Additionally, they had a big 50% off sale on seasonal items. I picked up a CLEARLY SEASONAL (orange, black, ghosts, witches, etc.) set of placemats that were NOT MARKED seasonal. Once again the cashier said “I can’t give it to you for half price because the tag says kitchen, not seasonal.” She then proceeded to say I could take it up with management (who have NEVER been able to help during pricing issues). She made it a point to tell me they were “very busy” at the time and I should just take the item without the discount. This would not have been a big deal if the placemats (just 4, not 40 of them) weren’t marked $8. That’s steep and I thought I would be getting half off. My next issue is with the rude ladies behind the counter of “special items”. They have stood talking to other employees without even looking up at me more times than I can count. I guess I’m on THEIR time. All in all, I am largely disappointed with Dorcas. I will probably be back. However, I don’t expect a pleasant or welcoming experience with this “Christian based” store. Happy thrifting, friends.

I love Dorcas. I’ve been going for abt 2 years. It’s always fun to find something new and the employees are amazing.
BUT the prices are not. In the past month I’ve noticed a significant increase in prices. There were a few items I saw over the past few weeks where I expected the max to be $15… most of them were $25-30! It’s absolutely ridiculous. There’s literally a counter with items behind it that are more expensive because of the value. So why are the on floor products so expensive? If I wanted to pay $30 for a product I’d go behind that counter. Or I’d take my butt over to target and get something brand new. The prices are absolutely insane. It’s a second hand store? They get the donations for free? So why are the prices increasing. It just seems greedy, it’s not even affordable.
Overall the employees are angels though and are amazing but whoever is pricing stuff, it’s ridiculous

Super disappointed that there are not any dressing rooms. It looks so nice and well organized and had tons of stuff. I spent over an hour looking at clothes only to realize they don't have anywhere to try things on.

I love everything about Dorcas Thrift Shop. It's nice that they have an organized system for dropping off donations at the back of the store.
The prices for shopping are reasonably priced compared to other thrift shops and I like that they support their local community.

This is a huge store. Many articles to shop, good layout. Fair prices, merchandise is clean, organized and more than fair shape. It has clean restrooms and fitting rooms. Usually people wait in the morning to get I'm the store that gives you an idea about quality a customer service. Many cashiers available so paying for your items is fast and easy.
When in Cary, stop by Dorcas!

The employees all started aggressively dancing at me when I asked where the bathroom was. Thank you dorcas for your choice to train your employees so well

Good place to shop—4 stars—but watch out for the lady(?)—0 stars—with short, black hair above heavy, bronze makeup (She always looks tanned.) who usually works behind the counter in the Vintage area. For a volunteer she comes off as somewhat overzealous in her policing of that department. For instance, on a recent visit, I carefully picked up an item—with both hands, mind you—off a shelf that *did not* have any ‘Do Not Touch‘ signage. This closer inspection was quickly met with an unnecessary ‘bark,’ heard as “Be careful with that!” delivered in a corrective tone like one would use with a child. Because of her overreaction, saying nothing, I simply looked at her, placed the item back onto the shelf and left the Vintage area, no longer wanting to browse behind the counter but to get away from her ongoing, uncomfortable stare. Perhaps a manager will soon advise her to, or instruct her how to, better modulate her reactions and responses to its valued customers to protect the store’s glittering reputation.

Pros:
- nice atmosphere
- lots of different sections
Cons:
- no fitting rooms
- exactly one mirror in the entire store
- extremely chaotic organisation of the women's tops and skirts

I usually enjoy this place but today an older woman working at the cash register with long white hair made a comment that I thought was extremely inappropriate. She told me I looked like I was in a rush, I told her I wasn’t (but even if I were, so what?), then she told me to breathe in. I found it inappropriate firstly because she is in no place to assume things about strangers, secondly she does not know me and she is not a mindfulness coach nor a therapist to give any sort of suggestions or opinions. I am a grown woman and I made to this age just fine, I think I know how to breathe in and out. Nothing prepared me for this interaction since I literally smiled and greeted her before putting my stuff on the table. As someone, who worked in retail, you want fast customers. Please, educate your employees on communication with the clients. They’re not some gurus or wise elderly who can give unsolicited advice to random strangers. I found it mostly rude because it’s not her place to judge why someone might be in a rush, not in the mood, distressed, etc. For all you know, someone might’ve had some medical complications in the morning or lost they parent a few days ago, and just needed some time to recharge and hearing “breathe in” is rude and unnecessary especially from some random strangers

Will not sell items without price tags and will not price them at the register. Bad customer service and will not hold items to be priced. This is the third time this has happened to me at this location. If you find something without a tag just put a similar items tag on it before you walk up. Only way to actually make a purchase at this store.

Good selection, only recommendation is for staff to take better care of items. Bought a vintage beanie baby, and when I got home I found that the tag had been ripped off when the cashier shoved it into the paper bag ? I have the tag, but I’m afraid I’ll lose it now.
