The Mayton seems to spend its budget on looking fancy rather than being fancy. The furniture in the room is gorgeous but the chair is too tall for the desk so you can't comfortably sit there. (The power strip clamped to the front as an afterthought doesn't help.) The shower has a heavy sliding door on bearings but it doesn't close flush against the wall and there is nowhere to put you toiletries or washcloth except on the floor or hanging over the glass wall. The thermostat in the room seems standard but I woke up in a sweat after having it set to 67°F because it couldn't maintain that temperature. The bed and pillows are typical for any hotel and the room had a mini fridge and microwave, which is nice. The staff is friendly and the location is fantastic. The main feature of a hotel should be it's rooms, though, and these disappointed.
Rooms: Disappointing for the price. It's pretty and *looks* fancy but it's only as comfortable as a much cheaper hotel.
Nearby activities: Downtown Cary is wonderful with shops, restaurants, a large park, and a library.
Walkability: All those wonderful downtown things are within walking distance of the hotel, which is a plus.

The Mayton is my favorite place to stay while on business in Cary. The hotel has such a welcoming vibe and makes you feel at home. The staff is so professional and kind. Most notably, Lindsay at the front desk has one of the most authentic, positive, and upbeat energy I always look forward to.

This was our second stay for an "in-town parent vacation" at The Mayton and we really enjoy it. It's a bit pricey but the rooms are nice and quiet and the location is great, particularly with the new park next door. Parking can be a challenge but if you make enough laps you can eventually find something.
Rooms: Very nicely appointed.
Nearby activities: Many
Safety: Very safe area.
Walkability: Right in downtown Cary, walkable to many shops, restaurants, and cultural activities.

The staff at this inn are truly wonderful and so kind! This is my 3rd time staying here and I have yet to be disappointed. Rooms are beautiful with a charming design. The food service and restaurant has really delicious french fries and the best ginger ale ive ever had. I do wish there was a couple more options. Highly recommend this place.
Rooms: Rooms are gorgeous, comfy beds and clean. Water pressure could be better.
Nearby activities: Theres a ton within walking distance from the hotel such as a couple restaurants, bakeries, drug store and theres a massive park and community center which is stunning all within 5 minutes. There are also museums all within a 15-20 minute drive.
Safety: As a woman i feel this place is super safe to be.
Walkability: Theres a ton within walking distance from the hotel.

I this Saturday afternoon had a disappointing experience. We requested an early check-in several hours before our arrival, but it was impossible to accommodate us. Even when we arrived, there was no effort to meet our request. We were promised a call, but it feels no action had been taken. It’s like if all rooms are cleaned at 2:50 PM and not before, and there was no consideration for our earlier request.
Additionally, the restaurant's organization was lacking. Staff had to physically check if tables were available, which was quite inefficient and inconvenient for guests, but just showing internal other issues.
We also reached out via the contact page on their website to inquire about EV charging stations in the area and never received a response. We had to call the hotel, and even then, they could not provide clear information on where we could charge our vehicle. We figured it out.
Overall, the lack of responsiveness and organization was quite disappointing. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves their service.

This was my first stay at the Mayton and I absolutely loved it! I was warmly welcomed by Dana when I checked-in. My room was incredible— a modern shower and vanity with a comfy bed. My room was very clean, it’s clear that the housekeeping staff does a phenomenal job.
When I checked out I was helped out by Lindsey, who was super kind and friendly. I highly recommend the Mayton to anyone looking for top-notch hospitality in downtown Cary! I will definitely be returning.
Rooms: Modern and updated
Nearby activities: Close to lots of local businesses, places to eat and drink, and the Downtown Cary Park
Safety: I felt very safe and secure
Food & drinks: Peck & Plume, located inside the Mayton, has incredible food and drinks

Stopped in after show at Cary Arts Center for a drink. Place has really stepped up its game. Looks great. Two great, and attentive bartenders. We'll be back.

Hotel is undergoing renovations. We were in a suite on the 3rd floor. Lovely room. Needs a facelift. Cary is a neat town. Location was great.

Great menu, great food, good service. CRAZY rule- table of 8 - could only use ONE credit credit card for table. Silly., and a pain.

Unbelievably at 4:30 on Saturday the porch as completely empty. Out party of 6 wanted to sit and have drinks on a beautiful afternoon. We were swiftly told that the tables were all reserved at 5 for dinner. It seems incredibly short sited that they would not allow $150 worth of revenue in bar service in favor of future reservations. ( we could have been gone in 30 minutes easily) We went to the bark bar in the park and gave them our money instead. .

We booked a room New Years Day looking to relax and have dinner at the hotel. Little did we know that the bar and restaurant were closed. Nowhere on the website did it state this and there was no communication about it I after I booked the room. I emailed the manager about our experience and got no response. Needless to say I will not be back
