We recently remodeled our home. One of the final hurdles to completing the project was the search for the perfect vent. We knew it needed to be custom-made but did not know where to start. The team at America Wood Vents made the process so easy. Gil was available to answer all of our questions and patiently walked us through getting the perfect measurement. The vent arrived quickly and was well protected in wrapping. The fit is perfect! We are delighted with our experience and the final product.

We had a vent cover that was supposed to be delivered by mid March. Each week they told us it’s going to deliver next week. After weeks of stalling us and giving us false promises they just cancelled our order (more than a month after its promised delivery date). To make it worse they claimed that we requested the cancellation. Zero accountability and terrible customer service! Stay away

7 weeks later and we have no vent.We ordered a custom return vent. They quoted a 4 week delivery time. They did not deliver in 4 weeks. Each week after this delay we called and they claimed it would be "next week". Each week was a lie; we never received our vent.After 3 additional weeks (7 weeks from time of order) they canceled our order inexplicably claiming we requested cancelation. We did no such thing. We have been advised to open litigation with the company. Avoid doing business with them at all costs.

I ordered a vent online. The quoted production date was 4 weeks. I am at week 7 without a vent. This is delaying our remodel project.Each week after the 4th week I was told "we are trying to ship next week". Each week this was a lie.I am happy to modify or remove this review if we received our vent in the next few days. I believe they provide the promise of a good service and am hopeful that the craftsmanship is high quality. So far they have shown an incapability to deliver, however, leading me to write this review. It is disappointing.

The sales agent appeared very responsive and knowledgeable initially. But, there was a bit of a misunderstanding about approval of the final design. I did not approve the final design, the paper trail showed that I did not approve the final design, yet he repeatedly claimed I approved the final design. I had emphasized that I was not in a hurry, that if I got the vents within a month or two it would be fine. I have around 25 vents in my house. I'm not Home Depot, but I thought that was a good order. I was apologetic and peaceful, but he fired me as a customer anyway. Blaming the customer is not classy, especially when the opposite is apparent. Employees all over the country are under enormous pressure to perform perfectly every time to the point where they cannot acknowledge that things do get missed sometimes. This puts them in a terrible position. During my last call with the sales agent, I got the distinct impression that the staff may not have all of the tools and assistance they need to deliver good customer care. When things go smoothly, it's easy. When things don't go smoothly, you are at a fork in the road and that's where you separate the sheep from the goats. To add insult, I received a text from the sales agent after our last conversation. In the email, he again stated that I approved the order. No approval exists. So disappointing. So unnecessary.

I just received my order and it was a really great experience from start to finish. We moved into our house in December and came to find that one of the wooden vent covers (not from this company) was falling apart. I wasn’t around when the floors were originally done so searched Google for a replacement expecting not to find a perfect match but hoping to at least just cover the gaping hole so my kids wouldn’t stick stuff down it! I found American Wood Vents and entered the specs into the website - I did something incorrectly which they immediately caught and called me to fix/clarify. Quality is excellent and it took just a few weeks to arrive. I didn’t know the stain color but I took my best guess based on the paint cans the previous owners of our home left behind and it’s almost a perfect match. American Wood Vents offered for me to send a sample of the previous vent for a perfect color match but I’m really happy with how close it is so will just keep as is. Thanks for a great experience. Highly recommend.

I just ordered 8 flush vents from Gil for our home and from beginning to purchase, he answered my questions with patience, offered suggestions, and just overall had such a friendly personality. We wanted to make sure the wood blocking was done properly to prep for the vent frames and Gil got on the phone with our contractor and made sure everyone was on the same page. He's quick to respond to emails and set up an invoice quickly based on our discussions making it very easy for me to order. Looking forward to receiving our vents! Thanks Gil! Update - We received our vents and they look amazing and beautiful. Our contractor was also impressed! Looking forward to the install.

These people wrote the book on quality, and customer service. Over the last 5 years I’ve purchased several wood vents for several different projects. Many different species and styles. They are ALWAYS top shelf quality. Gil or Louise will always answer the phone to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. They are always able to produce and ship my orders on time, too. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!!

I just sent them a few pictures and some measurements and they sent me a well built, well finished custom grate within 2 weeks. They were very responsive to emails and for the quality of the product the price was reasonable.
