It is a convenient store and when it was built a number of years ago it was actually pretty good. The staff are a lot of very nice retired folks. Some of who know enough to help. Unfortunately they really have let it get away from them. People will pay the extra high prices they charge because the typically have individual items when needed. They are OUT OF SO MANY THINGS and every time you go in they just have excuses why there inventory is so low or out. Yesterday I needed a simple 1/2" sweat on hose valve to replace one on an outside water line. They had plenty of parts bins but either had none or just one piece in them. They were all in the wrong places and 3 of us (all customers) worked for 30 minutes to find a simple replacement. They didn't even have one so it cost me over $20.00 to build one from parts there I could have bought for less the 1/2 the price I paid. It is the same issue in other aisles. Just poorly stocked aisles so you waste more time then if you just drove to Hone Depot or Lowes.

When I can go to a shelf and get what I want, Ace is fine, but any time I have ever needed help I have been disappointed. Today I wanted to buy some pinestraw. I have a van and I did not know how many bales I could get in the van. I was hoping I could either fill my van myself or have someone fill it and I would pay for however many I could fit. The cashier gave me an OBVIOUS shoulder shrug AND eye roll, accompanied by a 'you must be stupid look'. I told the cashier I would think it over and I left. I stopped at Carolina Coast Landscapes down the street and received friendly prompt service, and help loading my van. I don't know if I should be angry with Ace, who I used for pinestraw every year, or happy that I found a cool new place to go.

No Q code reader for eBay. They don't have that program.

This little post office is an awesome place to visit. The staff are so kind and go way above the call of duty to get your mail and package to it's destinations. I love going here and it's a joy each time.

One of the staff I have encountered a few times should be retrained to give better service to customer who ask for help.

The man who is usually working the counter is argumentative and will overcharge (I have personally had him price a package then take it down the road and received a far cheaper total). He has refused packages with reused boxes in attempts to force you to use their Priority or flat rate boxes that the regular post office accepts no problem. During the tourist and Christmas season he will stand there and flirt with old women while the line is literally half way through the store. Save time and money, drive to a further ACTUAL post office.

The Ace Brand products are supposed to be covered by the Ace lifetime warranty which states: "Our hand tools carry a Full Lifetime Guarantee and all other Ace Private Label products are stamped with a Satisfaction Guarantee. If an Ace Private Label product fails to meet your satisfaction, simply return it to the Ace Hardware store where you purchased it for a free replacement." I was informed this morning that this is not the case at this Ace Hardware location. I attempted to return an Ace branded sprinkler, that I initially purchased in 2015, and replaced at this location in 2018, without issue. This visit, however, I was greeted by a portly beaded gentleman (I guess he worked there, he never wears the vest like everyone else..size issue ?) that said I would need a receipt, although the "Ace" logo was clearly displayed. I offered my Ace card, he said that didn't help without a receipt. He called Amber, who informed me that this location no longer honors ace hardware's warranty, and only warrants purchases for 30 days, and only with a receipt, even though it was made with my Ace card. So, if you are considering an Ace hardware product, if you wish to have the warranty which is on the box or package honored, you must purchase it from a more reputable Ace Hardware location. There is an honest Ace hardware in Cherry Grove (Boulineau's Ace Hardware). They provide the honesty and integrity, as well as the warranty, that you pay a little more for by shopping at Ace.

I've had a couple of issues with this post office delivering things. If you live in an area that this specific post office delivers to, I'd highly recommend to request having your delivery signed for, or use another shipping service. They are completely unreliable.

This is a contracted post office. Ace Hardware contracts their tiny space to hopefully bring in business to the store. Therefore, not all services are offered. Any payments by check are made to Ace Hardware, not the USPS. The lady there was very helpful explaining this.

Although this is an official USPS provider, they will not mail out to a military address. I don't know if the older gentleman with glasses, doesn't agree with the military, and refuses on his own, or he is just plain lazy, but since I've moved in the area 2012 the supposed postal employees won't mail out to an APO AE or any other military address. Even when informed/trained by a USPostal employee from a US military post office showed them how to perform the task of plugging in the information into the system, they still to this day, January 2018, refuse to provide the service that a USPS should. Being a retired military member myself and having come from a military background family we enjoyed the fact we were coming to a community that appreciates the military, this supposed USPS will send you on your way to other post offices in the area to send your loved ones a care package. Even thought they carry the flat rate APO 📦 boxes, and customs forms, they'll hand them to you and tell you to go else where. Even the other post offices in the area are disgusted with this particular USPS branch because they won't do their job that they've been hired and paid to do. What I gather from the ACE hardware USPS is that they don't support the military. And if they do, they better get a real USPS agent in there to do the job that they're supposed to do and get the ACE hardware employee's that are not trying to do the job, even though they should be doing it to be classified as a USPS ...you know that pretty red, white, and blue sign hanging up behind your postal customer service window. Even if they are contracted out jobs they are to be providing all USPS services. Otherwise don't have the USPS sign behind you, just put a mail box out side your store for the real USPS postal service to pick up the letter mail, since that's all you care to do.
