We had a great experience. The area is beautiful and easy to navigate. We were given great tips about where to paddle and fish.

We rented a single and tandem to add to the kayaks we brought and paddled around Permuda Island Reserve in North Topsail. Kayaks were conveniently carried by staff right to the water and reservation process was simple. We saw a lot of oyster farms, birds and possibly a juvenile bald eagle but no porpoises.

Our family of 5 had a great time kayaking on the Cape Fear river! Our youngest two (8 and 5) had their first experience learning how to paddle and ride in a kayak. We all loved learning from Megan about the ecosystem, finding crabs and shrimp, and cooling off in the water, too! Such friendly staff and reasonable rates.
