My favorite thrift store in the Wilmington and Carolina Beach area so far. I really enjoyed browsing this store and finding a beautiful grey cashmere sweater and new sweater dress covered in crystals for only $3 each. I got a large round glass casserole dish with a glass top.This place is a thrift store that provides to those in need. Very friendly staff. When the luggage I bought there has problems in getting the handle out after I purchased it in the store. The cashier tried to open it for me but was unable to do it. She offered an exchange for another luggage or cash back. I preferred the cash. I was glad that she provided assistance immediately and let me have a full refund.

So glad I discovered this adorable little shop. The items are curated with love and care, and I found some unique treasures for a very fair price. (I'm from Germany and was lucky to find several German-made things for less than what I would have paid in Germany, not to mention I won't have to log them into an airplane.) Also, when I'm shopping in Germany, nobody ever calls me Darling. I'll be back soon and highly recommend a visit to the Island Cottage.

I will NEVER donate here again. Just took multiple baskets/boxes of towels, blankets, bedspreads, throw pillows & clothing, brand new beach buggy. I entered store & asked if someone could help me bring things inside & was told I’d have to wait until they finished doing what they were doing. There were no customers & they weren’t doing anything! Finally a lady who looked older than me came & helped. Wanted to support CB but I’ll have to find another way in future.

I live in Cary NC, second home in Carolina Beach. I bring my donations to CB since it's such a small community full of caring locals. Tried to drop my donations at 4:45PM. Was met by an employee who yelled to me from the door donations are not permitted after 4:30 PM. This is a business that does a lot of good and depends on the generosity of others. I asked if she was sure because I had a lot of really good stuff from my recently deceased mother, including jewelry. Sorry no exceptions. I was on my way home and didn't want to drive the stuff back to Cary. The employee watched as I dumped everything in the dumpster. I know it seems harsh but it was in reaction to her inflexibility. She could have easily made me aware of the unposted policy, made an exception this one time. Everyone wins. But no she stood by her unposted policy. WHY???? Will donate in Cary from now on.

The ladies here are so kind! I didn’t expect to find so many gems, and their prices are super reasonable! I walked out with a huge bag with no regrets. I will most definitely come back often as I can.
