Kim was extremely helpful in assisting us with the food bar, making suggestions and discussing the new Sushi items available. Sushi and wings in hand, she showed us how to do self check out with food bar items. We grabbed a couple of sodas and our picnic at Onslow Beach was complete! “I enjoy shopping at New River commissary. It has everything we need. I personally prefer this size commissary as opposed to the bigger ones. The staff is always friendly and helpful and are very knowledgeable. The sushi that's made here is absolutely delicious! Prices are very reasonable compared to out in town especially the meat. I only do my grocery shopping at the commissary.”
“First time in La Canasta, it was a pleasant experience, for a moment brought back memories from the old country, they have food products from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, etc. They also sell candy from different countries and refreshments. “Very polite and willing to help you see what you need or want. The store generally has most of the expected items anyone would need or just want. Very close to other neighboring housing developments. And since it’s closer, some of the items’ prices are a little higher than usual or expected, but the quantity of some of the items are worth it because of the size amount.”

“We frequently go to this place. The staff are very friendly and welcoming here as well! They have a lot of Filipino selection at this location and I often shop here with my husband. Of course, they also have variety of Asian food selection as well. We also go here since they have 6 pack ramune for a very reasonable price since my husband loves it.”

“Everyone is so friendly here, and I love going there. I feel like I step back into Mayberry! After searching up and down the coast at retailers and smoke shops for a cigarette brand I wanted, they agreed to carry it here of all places! I asked a sales rep who visited them, and they agreed to carry it! He told me they said "We take care of what our customers want", and I wasn't even a customer yet!”
“This Walmart is my go to store in Jacksonville. There are two or three cashiers that are my favorite and always make checking out a breeze. Two of them actually have the same name: Ms Pat. I can’t think of the third cashiers name right now but she’s also a very sweet elderly woman. I avoid the employees who are younger than me (I’m 37) at registers because most of them can’t count back change correctly and a lot of times I’m paying with $100 bills.
Loki, was incredibly friendly and was actually scanning grocery pick ups and stopped what they were doing to help me find gnocchi in the pasta aisle which was actually on top shelf and retrieved for me. When I caught Loki in another aisle to ask about something else I couldn’t find, they immediately acknowledged me and happily responded with what aisle. Loki, deserves a raise!
There’s another gentleman, young, that works the aisles too and he wears glasses and has the brightest smile and says hello when you make eye contact.
The greeters at the door are always sweet and whenever I leave store, I’m always prepared with my receipt and only a handful of times do they actually stop me to check. Usually if I’ve got bigger items in my cart which is understandable; they’re doing their job. But they’re incredibly professional about it. Stop giving these people such a hard time. Just show your receipt. If you’ve paid for all your items, it shouldn’t be an issue.
This store is pretty well stocked and very rarely do you find random items where they shouldn’t be i.e. perishable food in make up aisle or clothing aisle. Which means aisles and shelves are constantly being cleaned and things brought back to where they belong. Thanks Walmart at Yopp! Keep doing what you’re doing!”
“Qhen I used to live on this side of town this was always my stop in place to get gas and snacks. The gas was always alittle cheaper here than most other places. The customer service reps were always friendly and some of them became like family memebers. Unfortunately its on the other sside of town from where I currently live but I still drop in every once and awhile to catch up and take advantage of lower gas rates.”

“The commissary always has the best prices on meats, cereal, pet supplies. The only complaint I have with the Camp Lejeune commissary is the produce sucks bad. Why does New River produce look so much better than Lejeune commissary.”
