Pet Care
Bryson City Veterinary Hospital
200 Bryson Walk, Bryson CityI can’t recommend Bryson and Cherokee Animal Care Clinics enough. They have been the primary care providers for our babies for years and we wouldn’t change a thing. We had to trailer my senior mare in to the Bryson clinic a few weeks ago for a last minute visit where they took excellent care of her, as always, got her back on track with new meds. Dr. Robbie and the staff go out of their way to make sure our animals are happy and healthy, and have seen us through many emergencies no matter how full their clinics were. They will always have our support!

Pet Sitting & Training
Rippling Water Kennel
1300 Big Dog Rd, Bryson CityWe have used Rippling Waters several times and are always happy. They always take good care of our dog, and it shows as she likes seeing them. During a family emergency they even worked to fit her in. The kennels are large, giving our German Shepherd plenty of room to enjoy both inside and outside.

DERAILED of Bryson City (Anthonys)
15 Depot St, Bryson CityThe Hawaiian pizza was delicious—perfectly cooked with a great balance of savory ham and sweet pineapple that hit all the right notes. The crust was golden and crispy, and the cheese melted beautifully over every slice.
The only downside was the wait time; it took much longer than expected for the pizza to arrive. While it was worth it for the quality, the delay was a bit frustrating. Overall, a great pizza that just needed a faster delivery.

Big Wesser
13077 Hwy 19 W, Bryson CityDelicious food, mixed drinks with the perfect amount of alcohol, fantastic service, lawn games, and plenty of seating right along the river. Couldn’t ask for more! I recommend the smash burger with brisket chili and the mountain mama cocktail. Brisket chili is also delicious on its own if you don’t want a burger.

P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter
57 Lemons Branch Rd, Bryson CityI spoke with a young lady who had been a vet tech for a few years. She was knowledgeable. I met with a pup I had seen online. She seemed perfect for our family. I completed an application and am hopeful to receive some great news on Tuesday.
There was also a kennel attendant who had adopted a dog from the shelter. She was very sweet. The director popped in about a dog in need.
It's obvious these folks care for the dogs and cats in their care. The facility and grounds were ok.
I came to find out that they will not consider you for an adoptive home unless all of your pets are regularly vetted. I have had dogs, cats, birds and small animals my entire life. I had a TNR program in Forsyth county. Where I caught, vetted and spay/neutered all of the cats and found homes for kittens with a spay/neuter contract. I was told that the director refused me as an adoptive home because I did not regularly vet me cats ages 22, 5, 4.5 yrs. My cats are all spay/neuter and in excellent health. They do not ever go outside. Our dog, a rescue from Buncombe county is in tip top health, receives heartworm prevention, all pets receive topical flea treatments, and our pup sees the vet every 6 months. He just had a dental and physical. I have adopted from Jackson, Asheville, Brother Wolf and others east of Forsyth County. I have also rescued numerous cats and dogs. It seems dog rescue has become more about business than proper placement. The price for adoption was $165, plus $100 deposit for spay. That's $265. You must wonder why with so many animals being euthanized in the US why shelters are charging premiums for adoption fees. Some charge $350 and above. We criticize people who are not responsible breeders or pet stores who sell puppies and kittens. Isn't this the same? This has created a market for pets online. People can just breed pets and sell them for $50. It's sad. Although I love this pup. I will never recommend this shelter or let a friend or family member waste their time. Truly sad. ?
