“Big Lots will always be special. It used to be TG&Y. Not to mention, I helped set up this store over 30 years ago when I was pregnant with my first.child. Even with the change, I found where what I was looking for would be, but of course, they didn't have it ,just my luck. At check out, the line was long, and the poor cashier moved slower than my 84 year old mother. That's the reason for the four star rating. Other than that, go to Big Lots and shop 'till you drop.”
“Larger selection of items than they used to have but the staff is rude, pretentious, and will ignore you even as you're checking out and paying. Would go back for the items, but don't expect friendly service from the staff”
“This is a fairly good store. Variety is fair & staff are always courteous & helpful. Shame it's 4 items costing $5 now instead of older days of 5 items for $5. Some of the $5 per item are not worth $5, it's dinky & cheap but still good place for goody bag stock, stocking stuffers, candy etc. Aisles are tight but only because store space in strip mall is small. Parking is easy in & out.”
“So far every employee that I've dealt with has been tactful. None were tripping over themselves to try to be the most helpful or efficient either. But for what DG Hays their employees is absurd. Even if you are a manager., Your pay is insulting. Taking that into consideration I would have to say overall surprisingly I would give it a little better-than-average”
“Would give more, but the bathroom was filthy. The restroom was covered in pubic hair after an employee walked out. While the rest of the staff were relatively friendly afterwards, that same employee who walked out of the restroom proceeded to insult a customers autistic child. I was shocked and appaled by this employees behavior and will not come back.”
“I love Dollar General. I actually have saved quite a bit of money there. Only problem I have is the stores are always in such a mess and too much stuff for a small store. Build them a little bigger.”

“I have always enjoyed shopping in this store but had a very RUDE CASHIER ruin it for me ! Made a disgusting remark to me that I did not like ! This woman should learn to do her job and keep her mouth shut ! I called their head office and reported it and nothing was done about it . Guess I will have to take my business elsewhere. up date : The rude cashier has been gone for a good while and the new people they have in there now are FANTASTIC! Place looks neater . They go out of their way to be kind to you . they were very helpful to me back around Easter when I was buying some flowers to decorate graves . The manager was very helpful ! Thanks to the new employees in there !”

“Who needs Walmart?! I love Dollar General, but the Boonville location is my favorite. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They treat each customer as a valued guest. The selection is incredible. They have frozen foods, a refrigerated foods section as well as fresh produce. The rest of the store has everything you could possibly need, from home goods to automotive to pet supplies to clothing, etc. And you can get in and out in a short amount of time without fighting the crowds. I'm grateful Boonville has such a great resource right in the center of town.”
